But yeah, I really like Rana's design. That and with the new system, you can drag your lolies everywhere. They're bait, in case monsters tries to approach you. There's also no limitations to how many you can put on leashes strings, as long as you have MORE strings. If they die, you can just salvage the string! Also, I'm assuming you can them underwater.. over lava (OH GOD WHY WOULD ANYBODY EVEN THINK OF DOING SOMETHING AS TERRIBAD AS THAT IDONTEVEN), or even make yourself a loli farm.

I've got a shitload of squids in my shallow pool of water in front of my base. Easy black dye.

I've been in the same boat today myself. Out of curiosity, do those new dispenser blocks that can shoot the projectiles have the ability to hurt players as well? If so, are they knocked back as well? Could make for some interesting booby-traps.

Beta 1.2 reintroduced coloured wool once again, using different materials to create dyes. Along with the update, sheep can naturally spawn with light grey, grey or black wool.

just as a warning blue dye is insanely rare. it's like .05% chance of spawning in a chunk where diamond is .08 or something.
however i'm thoroughly enjoying the multi colored sheep and that I can dye sheep. that's about the only fun i'm having till the server i play on gets fixed. :[

Yeah, I've only found like one blue block so far, so.. >_>; I managed to get from lv 0 -16 in less than 15 minutes since I basically went diagonally down (straight, nonstop), and it was the easiest method so far. I'll probably try mining a lot later tonight. My friend's server restarted, so we could add the new data in. So.. now.. I lost my bird and tower. But that's okay, I'd rather start off with new stuff anyways.

Not really, it's about the same rarity of redstone or gold. Still not easy to be mass produced, but.

Gold is useless though outside of decoration. =/

Gold is pretty useless, yeah, lol. . . My friend had a mod installed before that when you break a golden compass (the one that keeps track of day & night), that it would instantly be daylight time. That's the only use Gold ores had on our server, but that was it. I just used Gold to craft armor, for the most part, since it's.. useless.

I play on a server where a gold block gives a speed boost to minecarts to give them some purpose
