Now I have to find some way to get rid of my elemental staff for my evan.

On the plus side, you can give your Evan an Ice staff and not worry about penalty...

Wow. I sold my Ele wands right before the big bang to buy a better one later.

Lol guess I'll try to find the cheapest one of em all Tongue Is the ele wand 6 the cheapest?

Kitty Wrote:Ok 1st can you please define skill in maplestory.
Then give me 2 other MMO's you have played.

There is no such thing as skill at playing MapleStory, that was the whole issue. Maple take no skill but that goes for the majority of online games, because complicated games get a much smaller player base. Granted I've seen people suck at MapleStory but that is usually because they aint the sharpest knife in the drawer to begin with.
As for other MMORPGs I have played I shall list a few; LaTale, WonderKing, Dragonica, FlyFF, GrandChase, WoW.

Duelman Wrote:Really? I had a few friends tell me their didn't work anymore. I had no reason not to believe them.

Your friends probably did not take into account the boss's PDRate.
Bosses in general have high PDRate, and the 30% bossing damage just barely offsets it, so it looks like theyr'e doing the same damage on Zak as on a snail.

TBH i don't even know what we're argueing ill reword my 1st point
People have the right to be pissed over this weapon nerf because in Maplestory lots of people have payed real life money for good items. Which is why Maplestory is not you average MMO, gear=money not gear=time. (No money = time plis).

I totally agree people who shelled out a good chunk of money have the right to be pissed, but your argument about other games not selling advatages for real money is just incorrect.

Never said that, u must have misinterpreted somewhere because i can't see anywhere i've said that
Some guy said
"There's not much skill required in most MMOs, it's just basically dependent on how much patience you have to farm for items and/or how much you're willing to spend."
I said thats inncorrect, (expanding my point down

here~>) eg. WoW, among other games requires skill that you develope, maplestory doesn't.

Oh i see you thought i ment "how much you're willing to spend" was incorrect, well, no, i completely ignored that part. The only bit i was concerned with was "There's not much skill required in most MMOs"

Guitarist17 Wrote:For me, I optioned for above average equips then had it equaled off with Elemental Wands of both elements to help in select situations. Are you saying it's now IMPERATIVE for me to buy potential equips for fear of not being able to do anything without them?

That seems ridiculous. NX items are supposed to be temporary. I don't expect my equip stats to be temporary. I don't have the funding or enough lust for NX to make myself do 50% damage with potentail equips. I bought my Elemental Wands for that reason; a compromise. So far this patch has been pretty amazing in terms of putting down mages.

This so much. My damage isn't great at 163 and I've got about 13% int potential and had to spend a ton of money just to get that. A lot of players don't even have that! While it's true that a couple of players would be really broken with these, most of the general population would just get an average attack boost that would help them do little things. My husband's potential-less FP is absolute garbage post big bang (50k paralyze at 150?!). The number of people this would help vs. the number it would "break" is undeniably lesser. The people who it would break already have ridiculous ranges like JellyFlower. I have to imagine he hits 999k at all times anyway so it's not as if this would actually help him.

All in all, including cubing, scrolling, MTS, and mesos, I've spent about 300 dollars and around 1 billion mesos on ele wands (130) alone (I got 4 of them, 2 unique and 2 epic). All this with the 25% elemental increase in mind. And now all that hard work kinda goes to waste.

Gee thanks Nexon, can't wait for the 5k NX compensation or something even more lame.

They've never compensated for other items which became useless after a patch. It's not like we deserve compensation, so it's a nice bonus.

This man is wise. Those of you saying that mages sux even after big bang and can't do shiet, event training decently should have never created a mage to begin with.

No whoever posted that is not wise, that fact he/she/it can't see why people are complaining over a unexpected nerf gives them the brainpower of a glue bottle. (based from that quote)

ITT: Mages whine for something that should've happened anyway.

they have the right to whine, and I dont see why it should have happened. nothing like this should ever happen. It's very very bad business

And why it should've happen?

Then why release these wands/staves in the first place?

25% of my current range is like 13k extra damage. I fail to see how that's a big deal when you look at most other classes or even just the HP of enemies in my range. It takes me 4 hits to kill MEMORY MONKS (140) at 163. That is ridiculous.

Because no other class gets a passive 1.25x damage boost just for equipping a weapon, it's broken as far as Big Bang goes. Rebalancing my d'ick. If mages are subpar compared to other classes, they should be fixed by ''rebalancing'', not by a weapon that is already pretty good by itself AND a 1.25x damage boost.

Balanced is not always everyone gets the same.

Except we have to wait 6 more months for the next rebalance. There's no reason not to give us the boost so we can TRAIN until then.

Also I'm extra pissed about this because the only 3 things I've liked about MapleStory have been STRIPPED AWAY from me. First my Monster Book, then my ability to train well, and now the only piece of equipment I actually valued.
