Sure seems like it.

It's quite obvious that after we made them look greedy, they would try to turn it around on us and make us look greedy and cheap. Of course the reality is that if anyone actually put the money up for a SP reset, he/she would have lost more than a day's worth of wages.

Everyone should check this against their characters after using the free SP reset and ticket Nexon if things dont add up.

It gives you a message warning you that your SP could go into a higher level advancement level anyways. Vice versa if you try to put 1st/2nd/3rd job skill points into 4th job skill points, etc

As SaptaZapta staed in another thread you appearantly can't use 3rd job points in 2nd jobs because of how the requirement system works. If you do not have 151 points assigned into 3rd job you can't add any 4th job points. This goes for 2nd job points into 1st job also of course. They only way to get more points into a lower job is to use 4th job points. Absolute pomegranate for us with useless crap skills in 3rd job like Shadow Meso and not enough points to max everything in 2nd job.

Why is it so hard for them to give an SP reset that isn't time limited, and that can be retrieved whenever you log on your character for the first time? I'm glad they finally gave us one, but whoever took a break from maple and comes back later is gonna be royally fucked.

Lets hope these SP resets fix those issues.

Well I guess it is true that if people flame Nexon enough, they respond.

If only they listened when we were nice....

Diplomacy/being nice only works if you have the advantage, in these things. It takes a revolution to truly change a government, and it takes a giant community shitstorm to get Nexon to change their plans in a timely manner.

I believe they were time limited like this in KMS.

This is pretty cool stuff... I've always loved it when they put Hime's foot in her mouth.

I'm pretty sure everyone should have gotten a free SP reset upon logging in. The scrolls were just an additional bonus in case you screwed up or didn't like what you chose.

I think an automatic reset would have caused quite a bit of panic, as in "why are none of my attacks working??!??!?!?!?", and also a lot of fail builds as people hurriedly assign SP just so they can play.
The way it was, only freeing up points from removed/lowered-max skills, still allows a person to play and get a feel for BB before committing to a full rebuild.

Full reset, along with the restriction of having to use the points in job order (61 in 1st job before any in 2nd, etc), is almost a guarantee of messed-up builds.
Even now, these scrolls that you must use within 24 hours or lose... pressure, pressure... Don't log on any char until you know how you're going to rebuild it!
Why must they do it this stressful way?
Oh well, I suppose it gives me something to do on each char while afk'ing for an hour for the ring to upgrade tomorrow...

^ What's wrong with using the SP reset and then logging off without using your SP yet? Unused SP doesn't disappear in 24 hours.

Like I said, the scrolls were meant to let you have some freedom with the build to test new things and see what changes you liked or didn't like. They lasted for a whole month too, and there was no pineapple up with SP assignment. The game even warns you when you're about to pineapple up SP placement, so if you do manage to screw up after it tells you "that might not be a good idea", I don't know what to say.

You're misconstruing what I'm saying with what Nexon America is doing.

There are other mistakes you can make, not just putting too many points in lower job skills.
You can put them in the wrong skill for the current job, if you don't know what you're doing.

This might not be true. I'm suddenly not sure the character I was trying this on had enough overall freed-up SP.
I sure hope I was mistaken.
