Nexon loyalists are worse than fanatic fundamentalists when they employ the same crooked cost-benefit scheme that makes the purpose less moral and more practical.
- Don't do bad things! You'll Go To Hell! - Don't do bad things! Nexon will ban you! This is not morality. This is covering your own ass and making sure your character remains in the game.

Please correct me on this, or inform me... Or at least some other region...

Azalea, incase you're acusing me of a Nexon loyalist, I'm not one. I'm just moral in every aspect of my life, even video games. I don't tell people not to glitch because they can get banned for it, I tell people not to glitch because it's the right thing to do. If you find $1000 dollars on the street, do you give it to the police or take it for yourself?
And I'm not saying this because I'm jealous. I could easily find a junior, but a 2x card and use 8x myself. But I don't. Took the money, turned the wallet it, and bought me an Xbox 360.

I'd take ~$120 to pay to the people I owe then return it. $880 is better then nothing. ![]() But Wow, add HS, 12x, use Taunt, . Better not fix till I get to 90.

Not the kind of question you should be asking in an MS forum, even if said forum is Southperry lolz I agree its wrong, but since that wont stop most people from abusing it, I'll say do it while you still can. You already know what the possible consequences are.

If you find $1000 dollars on the street, do you give it to the police or take it for yourself? Logical fallacy: false dilemma. The informal fallacy of false dilemma (also called false dichotomy, the either-or fallacy) involves a situation in which only two alternatives are considered, when in fact there are other options. Closely related are failing to consider a range of options and the tendency to think in extremes, called black-and-white thinking. Strictly speaking, the prefix "di" in "dilemma" means "two". When a list of more than two choices are offered, but there are other choices not mentioned, then the fallacy is called the fallacy of false choice, or the fallacy of exhaustive hypotheses.

Kabanaw Wrote:If you find $1000 dollars on the street, do you give it to the police or take it for yourself? If I found $1000 on the street, then I'd take it for myself. It's not my fault someone was dumb or careless enough to drop that much money. Since you didn't make your examples clear enough, I'm going to go ahead and assume that these $1000s are raw money, paper bills. Nobody's name is going to be written on a paper bill, so giving it the police is useless since they can't track whose money it was anyways. (More than likely, the police officer is going to take it for himself when you hand it to him. Who DOESN'T like free money after all right?) Here's a question to your question, for you to think about: Undoubtedly, most people, if they find $1 on the ground, they'd keep it. Why should $1000 be treated differently? It's still money, it's still dropped.

Sorry if this was a bit off topic.

Nexon reads most of their fansites, no doubt southperry has drawn their attention in other ways, but im sure they still read the forums and do a bit of research, point is, they'll know about this in due time if they dont already, its probably going to leak to Basil or Sleepy from here at the very least then everyone will know.
As for this Nexon loyalist talk, thats just idiotic to accuse someone of that for following their principals, the exp crap wasnt supposed to be there, and people only care because they're abusing it that it gets reported, maybe they just care about the game they play and want it to evolve into a better game in the long run, that involves reporting both beneficial and unbeneficial glitches, you cant just complain about the ones you dont like.

Wow, a lotta hate
![]() And I understand that other people may have different morals. What I was saying was that I have my own morals, and I stick to those morals whatever the case. In this situation, my morals say to follow the rules, which I do even if not doing so would result in me getting a crap load of experience. Also, by right in this case, I meant right from a rules presepctive. If you're following the rules of the game, the right thing to do is to not do it. Even if by your morals glitching is the right thing to do, it's still wrong because of the rules.

Lol. It's almost hilarious how any topic on SP has turned to ethical dispute rather than a conversation about the topic itself. Those of you self-righteous cynics should just go cry in a corner somewhere instead of trying to reprimand everyone for every God-damned thing.
./plantain How do the effects work in KMS? My idea was that this was a mistranslation, and that by "event" it meant "another Family 2x buff". I haven't made any use of KMS' family system, so I'm not fully understanding of their implementation.

Too bad, NEXON will soon find this bug and fix it. And goodbye 8x.. but maybe family 2x will still stack with 2x Cards? That'd be still good, because we could get 4x EXP or Drop whenever we want (well, the I doubt the 2x Family Drop works correctly.. it seems it works like the 2x Drop events NEXON holds: it doesn't double the drop rate of mesos or etc. items.. well, in fact, I didn't even get more equips when using it, so I guess it's just not working like the other 2x Drop events).
People say it doubles the drop rate of equips.. well, you know what, I didn't get more equips and when using Family 2x Drop or during 2x Drop events, I feel like I'm not on 2x Drop at all. And, in fact, it probably is like that. Also, looks like 2x Mesos buffs (like the Pianus and Papulatus ones) give instead 2x Drop, making ETC. items drop all the time AND doubling mesos, other than probably raising the drop rate of other items. I think they messed something up in the server.

Harrisonized hit it on the nail. Even though I've never violated the TOS, (I only got to level 70) I find nothing wrong with glitching. I don't like hacking, leeching, or merchanting. I don't like the fact that I tried to get 30,000 fame and hackers ruined it while Nexon did nothing.
I would try to return that $1,000 to the best of my ability without giving it to some greedy person who is not the proper owner. If it doesn't work out, I would give it to charity. Because I would feel too guilty afterwards. I found it silly that you painted yourself as being self-righteous and ethical in Maple Story where exploitation, user abuse, and scamming occur on a daily basis. And Nexon only promotes and supports such Type A behavior. That's pretty much it.

Azalea Wrote:Even though I've never violated the TOS, (I only got to level 70) I find nothing wrong with glitching. What is this supposed to mean? Exploiting any form of glitch or unintended gameplay is explicitly against the TOS, as in banned. I don't see what the ambiguity there is. |
