Pokémon X and Pokémon Y
Razmos Wrote:Either that, or it might evolve into a possessed suit of armour, which I honestly think would be badass, but might be too similar to Escavilier/Gollurk

This is my hope right now. A dullahan Pokémon would be so awesome.

Monorpale - during battle, this Pokemon unsheathes itself

Oh my!

Sadly that gold XL is a Pokemon Center exclusive, so we will probably never see it in the west. We'll probably get the regular one.

I'd hope not.
A Dullahan is an Irish Fairy, so a Dullahan would probably be Fairy/Dark or Fairy/Ghost.

(also it's totally weird to use a type combination with Fairy in it, even though it's been confirmed real)

Dullahan would be more Dragon Quest. I don't see a Dullahan existing in the Pokemon universe.

hmm, why not? there have been more obscure and scarier mythologies/references.

A dullahan is quite tame compared to a pokemon like Drifloon or Chandelure

And I don't know if it's me, but the battle music sounds like a blend of all the generations. Everything about this game looks epic![/COLOR]

I had no idea a Dullahan was a fairy. I only know it as a haunted, headless suit of armor.

Also, at 1:46, Pikachu sounds like his anime self while the other just make their normal noises. I wonder if that's just for the purpose of the trailer/gameplay videos or is it actually like that in-game.

I didn't know either until recently when this whole Fairy business began. It's one of my main arguments as to why I think Fairy type could end up having some really badass pokemon.
According to the classifications, the Dullahan is a type of Dark-inclined fairy. and it suggests that there is a light and dark divide between the different kinds of fairies. With the light ones being cute and innocent and playing with flowers (Sylveon and Furabebe bring this to mind) but there are also dark fairy creatures like the Dullahan.
It's quite interesting stuff to read really Tongue

Also Celty from Durarara!! is a Dullahan Big Grin

A headless horseman (Basically) is more tame than a balloon and a chandelier..? Unless you're referring to their entries which aren't even canon.

Well yeah I was referring to their entries, but ok if we are going purely off designs, Escavalier is a jousting knight, Pawniard is a sentai/power ranger/chess piece, Gothitelle is a goth woman/psychic, Mr. Mime is a fucking mime, Bastiodon is literally a castle wall

How would a headless horseman not fit in?

Fairies are really vicious creatures, so I'm hoping for some Fairy type Pokemon that aren't so...saccharine.

English name of the Steel/Ghost-type revealed to be Honedge. Also screenshots!

It really reminds me of Wind Waker, haha.

I thought Masuda's video about the inspiration behind the Kalos region to be quite interesting, though it was just confirming stuff we'd guessed already (that it's based on france)

Honedge is a pretty well-done pun. Honing is sharpening the edge/blade of a sword. Hone is also very similar in sound to haunt.

That would be awesome if Bronzor was actually a shield Sad

I hope that there is a ghost type shield pokemon so that picture becomes a reality haha.
