LoL, 8:30 min game in the CS. Their team was sort of baddie and when they only had 40 hp left their Caitlyn Reconect and i was like "Lul wut?"

What happened to Lee Sin bans? The patch hasn't hit yet and I've yet to see one since the patch preview video came out..

Dunno, I've been noticing that on streams lately. People have been banning Talon and Akali a lot more, recently as well.

Also, installing the game right now. Gonna most likely go through the tutorial and get some free champions. Maybe one online game at most.

Weekend matches sound great. Just gonna go through the trouble now of finding/adding you guys to my LoL friend list. And the heck is a smurf? I'm guessing it's a mule/dummy account of sorts.

The (formal) definition of a smurf is that "Smurfs are low-level account(s) made by people of higher levels who use it to play with friends who are starting off, or to stomp nubs in low-level matches"

The definition of smurf can also apply to high-ELO players who make a new account, get it to level 30, and climb up the ladder easily since they have experience in ranked matches already.

Got into a game with two goldies and LoL U regulars. Teamwork actually existed (except for a raging Tryndamere solo top vs Akali), and we wrecked face.

Oddly enough, one of my premade buddies had issues with the game when it loaded for the first time, so he had to take a few minutes to restart. I don't know if that was plain dumb luck or a sign of things to come. That forced me (Koggles) to take mid versus Anivia, while Alistar had to duke it out bot lane. No lane switching occured.

Long story short, bot lane got triple-man ganked several times during laning including a 2:00 ambush, but the stuns used to counter them were outrageous. Meanwhile I was "peacefully" harassing the ever living hell out of Anivia (can't touch this!) and even stole her blue.

Edit: Also, just saw a topic about a read who was gonna play teemo for the first time and I checked all champions. There's 12 champions that I've never ever touched, not even custom game or anything.

Well that was definitely an interesting tutorial, and the sample battle took quite a while so I got 502 IP for winning. Used Garen just because he seemed like a tanky character although I died 7 times while killing 8 Champions. Got Alishar and Tristana unlocked for free. Gonna go buy Ashe now and see how things will go from there.

I am amused at how bad I look when I play my replays at 1 speed xD

A few convos later, and I'm becoming more convinced that knowing proper counters can play significantly in whether you go far in mid-high elo. Sure you can still go boss mode with a main or something, but what appears to be a sort of homogeneity in LoL play suddenly doesn't seem like it anymore.
