A guy disagreed with a woman on twitter, she slandered him, his business, his family, then tried to claim he was harassing her because she blocked him and he continued to try to contact her. Truth was (as the court shows), he only defended himself when she would talk badly about him. She lost the case for pretty much being a liar.

As parasite said. My dad was actually at the building when it happened, the entire faculty save for like 6 people were howling in laughter after the presentation because she actually sourced her personal hard drive.

Unfortunately misandry doesn't do well against actual law, they can sit and speculate pomegranate till they're blue in the face, they don't know how to use the tools to create change and when they figure it out, hopefully they'll realize how irrational they are.

Yeah, the judge is holding both of the founders personally liable on top of all of that. I heard they were incredibly unprofessional on the court dates so it really doesn't surprise me, and it's exactly what they deserve, not just because of the double standards they have been using forever now but because they were causing damage to society as a whole by dumbing down an entire generation.

I agree with the rest here. Things like Gawker shouldn't exist. Libel and slander and associated crimes are illegal, but when you have an army of lawyers, you can get away with it because next to no one will be able to go through all the hurdles needed for any sort of accountability. That is basically the whole story of these types of sites/mags, be it Gawker or National Enquirer or whatever.

For most people that buys this stuff, if someone in their family was the target of something like this, they'd want Gawker axed. But because it's celebs, people buy the mags. I remember Julia Roberts had to smash a papparazi repeatedly with the door of her car to get out of the car, she was just trying to take her kid to school. Honestly, if Gawker gets canned, I'll say it's a victory for democracy. Gawker is not free speech. It's something else.

Even free speech has a limit on how much it can be abused before that right, by all that is sane and logical, should be completely rescinded from some people or entities (like Gawker). Speaking of Gawker, Hulk Hogan got a hefty sum for Gawker for that sex tape case. At least some justice is being made.
