i don't feel i helped much, so a smega today and the day of the event start should be good enough (or during AB's hot time)

I would not waste smegas till the event is live or they just get their hopes up.

2 people I'm talking to on Skype didn't even bother reading any of the smegas [MENTION=4235]KhainiWest[/MENTION] put out and they kept asking me how to get said chair and whatnot. Real irritating.

After several people seemed unable to grasp what "the event starts on the 18th" means, I decided I'm not displaying the chair again until the event starts.

That is because the event starts on the 18th on January. Take a nice gander at the first post, make sure to read it carefully.

If you're going to do that, I think it's best to promote a day before the event starts.

That's not what's happening to me. Everyone who has asked for info seems exited and understanding.
Some of them even called their guildies to show them the chair

On the day it starts.
No need to do it early, people can still get a chair easily even if they start a week or two late.
And people can't read, no matter how much you smega "it starts tomorrow" they will go on the site and come back with "it won't let me do the event!"

Might try changing that text to just a big red bold DON'T REGISTER and then the rest of it in normal text. As it is it's too long and people skip it.

Either that or they read it and don't believe it, in which case there's nothing we can do.

There are still some people who want to register because they want to participate in the forum. We don't want to shut them out, certainly not for a month.
