As of 1.2.412 (this patch) for some reason "Pirate's Revenge" shows COUNTER above you AND your party members' heads. But they don't get the buff.

Sometimes simplicity is better, it's more appealing to just have a few effects come out of your body, instead of summoning little burning farts that fight for you. Transformation was cool because YOU were on fire, summoning a shiny fire thing to fight for you = not cool. I'd play my Blaze Wizard if I wanted that. That, and I don't like the tornado attack one bit, it's a blatant copy of Cannoneer's rolling barrel skill. But not like it's very important, as you won't use it past 2nd job. Still... the closest to a brawling skill that brawlers have is summoning the orange guy to do the new fist barrage, which is kinda meh... I think the tacky part of it is having the spirit launch itself at the mobs like some kamikaze fire, which looks just out of place. If they want to do something like that right, just make a little animation of your character transforming for half a second while you cast barrage or the new energy wave, as if your character powered up for a spare second and went back to normal after the skill is casted. I think this is what they indended originally, but changed into something completely different... and doesn't work. For example, that new energy wave is a lot less impressive knowing you're not the one firing it. I can fire my own kamehamehas thank you very much.

I can actually see some good uses for it in general. When i was in 2nd job i used barrel to keep jesters away from my HS mule while i buffed. I'm sure i'll use it at empress to keep mobs away from the respawn point.

I would rather they have the tornado be like, character punches the ground to summon a tornado to lift multiple enemies into the air, then strike them all multiple times in a manner similar to Evan's Illusion, then appear above and smash them into the ground. Okay, I guess it sounds cool but will be horribly slow...maybe just make it Illusion-ish but make it capable of mobbing and have the hits preceding the slam drag the enemies upward.

What about energy charge showing your character burning... Behind you? as in, like super transform, only wider and shown either behind, or over your character, but transparent. |
