A Look at Monster Book
#61
Looks pretty sweet. It's a shame SOME of these effects aren't permanent.

It will be nice to have a Bestiary in MS. I always enjoy flipping through those when I play RPGs =)

Cards are tradeable, yes?

Otherwise ill miss out on things like Alishar and such.

Also do the Guild Quest monsters have cards? (other than Ergoth, whom im assuming does)

Cards are not tradeable. They don't even go into inventory. When you pick them up they immediately go into your book.
But as described above, you may be able to buy boss monster cards through events.

Ahhh thanks.

Though with our Nexon it seems more likely that i'd be able to buy it with NX than an event... Tongue

If it's not a ridiculous price, I wouldn't mind saving from mts...

Oh that's facinating!

So do any of the versions that have this also have fake bosses? Do the fake bosses drop the cards as well? That way I could collect them all for the PQs I can't do anymore. =D Watch fake bosses drop fake boss cards... -_-

From the sound of it they'd drop either nothing or their own cards, they have different stats than the original monster. Not to mention they're entirely different monsters in the data and all that Shine

Fake bosses haven't dropped cards in any other version so far, but that can always change. Many people have suggested it as a solution.

Going to be pretty hard to coin up a story for fake bosses, anyways.

On a somewhat related note, TaiwanMS is releasing monster book for their patch this month. So far it's come out after Magatia in every version, so we'll probably have to wait until then.

*Looks at inventory filled with goblin bait*

I'm not sure if this is good to get more bait, or bad for having to wait...

At any rate, you sorta need them to farm the Goblin King monster cards =P

It would also be nice to know how many cards you get with the incredible amount of bait you have, so we all have a rough idea on how easy it is to farm boss cards xD

Just for informative purposes.

Hmm hope this is the best place to ask my question...

What does the different colours of monsters name mean? Why are some white, yellow or red?

Heh, nothing to do with monster book, but here's the answer...

Yellow: This monster is very weak for your level. Around 10 levels below yours.
White: Not yellow or red :p Simply close to your level.
Red: Too powerful for your level. Around 10 levels above.

Not sure about the exact level difference that triggers it, but you get the idea.

It's actually 20 levels below for yellow.

This sounds pretty fun to do. I guess you kind of have to start from level 1 with the book to get the majority of the cards without getting them from events etc. At least some of the boss ones alishar etc. Should be fun though, something else to do when you're bored running around Henesys.
