Error code 38 on entering cash shop

I'm sure it comes as no surprise to anyone that I'm still getting this error, after the patch.
Sent them a new eTracer log, for all the good it will do. (It actually said "completed" rather than "failed!!". No idea why sometimes it does work.)

I can say this much. The error code occurs entirely for that account, regardless of whatever computer you uses. We've already tested the possibility that it could be compatibility issues or something that could have been interfering with Maple, and that was proven to be false. And only her main is having this issue, not her other chars.

yeah it's still around i try everything to fix it, i used 4 different computers and nothing work, i used a 32 bit and 64 bits, i tried using that dell packet still nothing i tried switching to windows xp pack 2. i even change my main char
redownload maplestory...this is not a problem on the players side, but on server or coding most likely to do with some perm items. and the hard part is i don't think we can drop said items. and also i'm sure that nexon has a solution that is costly to them so you know that will be a problem for them.

Heard people talking about it & apparently it works. I don't have this issue, so I can't test it out. But eh, worth a try?

Possible solution? Empty your inventory. Even if you already have space in each of the tabs, still make a little more room in all of them (more than one slot in each tab).

Not sure if its a certain type of item or what tab in your inventory is causing this, but some people have tried it. Then there were smega's about clients crashing because cash shop can't handle loading all the items in your inventory. Blah blah blah, someone want to test this out?

Hmm... actually I can enter cash shop just fine on my ore mule that has full inventory in all tabs.
However, it doesn't have expanded Equip or Use inventories. Maybe the problem is with having more than X items in one of those tabs.

Edit: tried it on my main. Removed everything that isn't untradeable from Equip inventory, made 24 spaces in Use, lots of space in Etc, a few empty Setup slots, almost nothing in Cash. Still error 38.

i got mine to work after cleaning ALL my inventory, i dropped half of my medal(had 28 in inventory), dropped all my untradeable and useless stuff (maple hat, maple gage, some etc item quests, agent suit, etc) emptyed my USE slots, xfered all my chars to another mule, cleaned my ETC, and only had the nx clothes on my equips and a few of other items (like my reverse glove/sword, some medals) and i could go in cs.

transfered 1 item back to equips slots, and started to get dced again, transfered this said item back to my mule, could get in cs just fine.

I just know, i can go in cs if i have nothing on my char, if i ever get 1 pot, or any item that is tradable, i dc lol.

I'm not going to do that. I don't need cash shop that bad. I hope your experience helps Nexon find their problem, but... obviously all characters that can go in CS don't have empty inventories. So it's still something unique to our characters.
Let's try some stats. How many slots overall do you guys have in your inventories? I will begin:
Equip: 68
Use: 80
Etc: 72
Set-Up: 28

24 equips
27 use
16 etc.
19 set-up
6 cash items
93 items d/cs me, 92 doesn't

i have maxed use/equips: (96 slots)

52 set up slots.

80 etc slots.

i had to use 3 mule to xfer all my equips/pots/etc/chairs, and my storage is maxed (40 slots)

i forgot to count how many items i have in inventory when i dont dc. i should do it next time i go in cs

One thing I'll never do even if it fixes the CS error is dropping my untradeable equip stuff. I'm kind of a collector. Anyways, yeah, I have expanded slots too.

What was the 1 item? Be specific like enhanced, potential, etc

Was it only that one item or was it different items?

it was my spectrum goggles, i put it back in storage, didnt dc, then i take my top back from storage, started dcing again.

I think its something to do with how many items you can hold when you go in cash shop.

My NL gets in fine with 123 items (25 equip, 49 use, 27 etc, 20 setup, 2 cash) <- 3 slots free in equip/use, 1 slot etc., 4 slots set-up
Paladin's also fine with 147 (40 equip, 36 use, 40 etc, 27 set-up, 4 cash) <- no slots free in equip/use/etc, 1 in set-up


^ lets me in Cash Shop fine. Maybe this'll help you figure out what you've got and I don't.

OMG Thanks for figuring this out. I couldn't go into CS for like a month and now I finally can.

My magic number seems to be 86 items.

When I have
22 equip
14 use
17 etc
20 setup
13 cash
86 total
I can go in CS.

I tried getting one more equip I DC, one more use I DC, one more etc, one more setup, one more cash all result in DC.

I tried a bunch of different items as well. It doesn't seem to be a problem with any one item, just the number of items you got.

Edit: I didn't count the stuff I have equipped on the character, of which there are 35.

well this is going to be a problem for me, because i have max etc, equip, use the only thing that is not max is setup,,,,and to make it worst all my mules are full, so there's no way i can xfer. i'm also like a collector so i need m y items i can't drop

Try moving them to the first slots? (Use the "slot merger" button, the little up arrow to the right of your meso balance)
