Anyone crashing more after the windows 7 fix patch?
#61
I haven't been able to play Maple yet since the changes (and I can't until I come back on the 5th), but this patch is really turning out to be a hit or miss for people. :/ This makes me worried how I'm gonna fair with my Win7 64-bit.

I am disconnecting much more than i used to, most of the time the moment i log in. Which, combined with the fact that my computer keeps overheating and switching off, is quite frustrating.

So in my opinion, this patch = EPIC FAIL

Just got on with my laptop which runs x64 Windows 7 Professional, and I crash when I enter new maps a lot.

"I'll just set it to compatibility for XP then."

>Can't do that, you must wanna hack if you want to run this program in compatibility mode.

Guess I'll stick with using my XP desktop for Maple.

Not disconnecting, but lag spikes as usual. Map loading still takes forever...

I just tried to log in for the first time last night. The moment I spawn in a map (after tediously putting in my PIC..) the game crashes. So I can't play GMS at all now.

Got better. Can fully boss through zak. Only problems I encounter is Dojo and random map glitches which fix up after a while.

My gf tried Mapling, and she has the same laptop as I do (We both have Win7 Home 64-bit). Apparently, she's got no problems thus far running the game.

Although, she also said to me that it takes up 300 MB of RAM. xd

I can't play on my Windows 7 64-bit laptop anymore at all since the "compatibility" patch. I'll crash sometime between the second I log in and 5 minutes later. If I don't crash, my graphics become so glitched that I can't safely do anything but stand in town (and I have the most recent drivers, so this isn't my fault).

That might be with the compatibility of graphic card, from what I've noticed since I didn't DC when on Windows 7 x64 bit, Intel i5 processor, 6gb ram, ATI 512mb graphics.
I've several PCs right now and apparently those running on NVIDIA is crashing a lot.

Correct me if I am wrong.

Ati or Nvidia, it matters not. I have computers with both, one with Vista the other with Win7. They crash at bosses and outside about as often.

Actually my NVIDA Vista 32 bit has no problems at all bossing or dcing. Although it still can't to big things like HT or such.

My W7 desktop 64 bit ATI Radon is so glitchy. I'll have to log on 5 times, because the game just closes the four tries before that. Even though I have the game set on XP SP 2 (and I tried SP 3).

Contradiction? Yes indeed.

For me it is the other way around. Ati with Win7 runs much better than Nvidia with Vista.

Never had any real d/cing issues from HT or zak at all with my NVIDIA GeForce 9800GT model even though I use XP. However, thanks to the latest change with the compatibility, I have problems with MS if I don't keep my computer only focused on MS (really annoying). I also can't even switch users to try and log into 2 accounts properly either.

Haven't been able to play for a while now, but during the Black Friday Fail event I did notice that Maple would shut down without any warning much more often now.

Reporting from Windows XP 32 bit. Every time I try to enter Crimsonwood Keep PQ, Maple crashes as soon as talk to Jack to get in. There's no error message, Maple simply becomes unresponsive. I had no lag issues or anything before entering the PQ, and I've CWKPQ'd on this computer many times before (months ago when I still actually played).

It's happened to me 3 times in a row. Figures that when I try to get some funds before Big Bang the game is too glitchy to let me. Currently have less than 1m on my main, and doesn't seem like that'll change any time soon.

Bit more info on the minor details:

I had other programs opened at the time. I couldn't see the CPU usage of MS because I was forced to hard reset my computer due to a black screen that was showing no signs of removing itself, even if I alt+tabbed or opened task manager. However, I could still hear my music in the background, so my computer wasn't frozen, MS was just giving my computer a hard time. This computer is by no means weak on the specs, considering I built it myself and update my parts frequently.

So I guess this means that MS is impossible to play on my laptop due to the frequent DCs when I enter new maps, and I can't CWKPQ on my desktop. Everything else seems fine on my desktop though, but I haven't exactly tested many maps.

I've never had DC issues with Maple while I was on XP (unless it was a glitch that affected everyone, such as certain skills disconnecting everyone on the map and such), so one of the recent patches messed something up in an attempt to stabilize the game for everyone.

Hurf durf, my XP computer is disconnecting every 8-10 minutes at Galloperas now.

About half the time when I log back on someone's taken my map, so I spend the first minutes looking for an empty channel. pomegranate sucks.

That, and Hackshield is taking longer and longer to start up, and consuming 100% cpu the entire time.

I'm starting to have problems too.
Whenever I afk with fullscreen on for about an hour, my screen freezes and I have to go to Task Manager to close the game manually. This is Windows XP Professional 32-bit.

It freezes 30 seconds after I disconnect - I run it windowed so I just end it manually as soon as I see it disconnect.

I don't think it is capable of getting back to the login server on disconnects anymore. Maybe this is their solution to the "unable to login due to account already connected" issue. If you have to take the time to restart the game you're less likely to hit it.
