While the "2010" United States may consider oral, vaginal and anal sex to be both legitimate forms of sexual activity and a form of sexual intercourse, before Obama came into power there was a strong movement to ban gay marriage. America might have reversed every policy measure they had in place in nineteen months but the rest of the world can't turn on a dime like that, not to mention a vast swath of the country who is organizing themselves into radical right wing movements like the Tea Party Movement.

I have lived in both Massachusetts and California (SF Bay Area) which has the largest GLBT community in the country. Many of my jr high and high school teachers were homosexual (openly) and frank and candid discussions on sexuality, sexual intercourse and marriage were had. With that said, most people, gay and straight, used the term "sexual intercourse" as male-to-female, non-transgendered vaginal sex, not because they believed all other forms of sex wasn't sex or that they weren't as good but because they had to set apart sex that could get you pregnant, with the connotation that sex is being had by high school kids who would be more likely to have unprotected sex.

With that background in mind, would a bisexual person be more inclined to have sex with a person who could be or get you pregnant in the future if you decide to have children? If you choose someone your own sex, you would be faced with the decision of having a surrogate mother&egg or donated sperm, either of which will give you only you or your partner's genes. The trade-off doesn't seem worth it for someone not already in a committed relationship.
