Here we see the best of the best SP members discussing about their ideal fantasies regarding anime and/or manga. Of course I'm being extremely sarcastic because we're discussing about classes and languages, not what I stated. Waiting til someone falls for this.

Yotsuba Wrote:Yes, but some langages are harder than others depending on your native language. too lazy to dig up the study showing the top most difficult languages for native English speakers to learn. I think Cantonese was on the top.

Cantonese is hella hard. It really is like learning two languages at once because the spoken word uses completely different words compared to the written.

Quote:Kana? Really?

Although I never really learned it, I did at least try to write out those Kana (the alphabet system right?). The loops and squiggles aren't what I'm used to, haha.

Quote:Ugh. I took French and Spanish in High school (again, we couldn't pick classes, so I was stuck with these two despite how much I didn't want to learn them). Failed both. French teacher went soft on me and decided to just pass me so I wouldn't be stuck with Spanish or French again.

I had a Canto Mandarin teacher and he was pretty good and everybody liked him. I had the luck to have a totally awesome French teacher who fed us cheesecake every week for participating in vocabulary & conjugation games. My last French teacher is "so perfect that we should all be getting 100%". He was hard and always shouted at how bad our class was. Despite his attitude towards my class, we did extremely well when we took our IB French Exams and after the ordeal was done I became thankful to him. Actually he always tried to talk to me in Cantonese since his wife was Cantonese and it was really entertaining Tongue

Quote:When I was growing up, I was a bit ahead of the "Toonami boom" so to speak. By the time DBZ and stuff were airing, my age range were getting out of watching Cartoons. Of course, that stuff was still popular at the time with even high schoolers, but this early on it was a bit difficult to find anyone who really liked anime other than the ones airing on Toonami, especially someone who would openly talk to others about it in an attempt to form a social clique.

So I never really got to experience that kinda thing first hand. I see it if I happen to be outside in a nerdy place though (Pokemon events, manga isle of a bookstore where there's people laying on the floor and reading even though there's a designated reading area in the store, etc.) but I've never been in a situation where I'm forced to be around someone who's being annoying.

I dunno what Toonami is but I used to watch Dragonball Z too. Got kind of boring when Frieza (forgot the spelling), the most powerful warrior in the universe, was defeated and suddenly there's a new villain who far surpasses Frieza's powers. I was in Elementary School when it was popular (I think in Canada the shows get aired a lot later than for the Americans). During that time, I was really obsessed with Pokemon; but who wasn't :x?

The only time I experienced Anime irl was a convention that was located at the same place I was volunteering at a summer camp for. It was so loud and I would be embarrassed to wear the costumes some of the participants of the convention was wearing.

In high school, I went through a phase when I was seriously considering prostitution as a possible career. I wasn't a tramp or anything, it's just that in my mind, I thought that selling myself would somehow allow me to reclaim power over my sexuality that I felt was stolen by my father. At 14 years old, I figured I could make a killing off pedophiles, provided I had the proper "muscle" to back me up.

I think there are so many amazing people on SP. I wish I could hug you.

It's okay, according to the cams I have set up in Japanese schools, most of their handwriting seems to suck as well.

Oh god. That was a fun week.

I feel sorry for you. Toonami was the last good thing to ever come to Cartoon Network.

Speaking of television, I actually never turn on my TV anymore. My parents will come in and watch stuff, but I never actually watch TV unless some huge thing will be occuring. I don't know why but I feel a little strange about that.

Where to begin...

Southperry:
No, I do not hate Sarah. I don't want the site to end, I enjoy this site more than nearly any other. I've gained a few extremely good friends out of SP and plan on talking to them for years to come. I would buy Southperry if Fiel allowed me to. I miss Isaac, BDRyan, and all of our other retired staff members, and I'll miss Fiel. I think Omni is fat and fun to make fun of when drunk, Swerve is a great person to talk to, Erich is mature for his age, and imjon is a good friend. IRC is where it's at, I hate the Funhouse, and my mind is still full of useless information from MapleStory, and this site manages to pile more into it even when I don't play anymore. I do enjoy posting in this "blinding" font, though there is one other font I'd consider if vBulletin supported it. Also, Shine > Glitter

Other:
I love Guitar Hero and Rock Band, I'm extremely good at them, and I do play for the music, instead of for the sake of being cool or getting better. I hope to go to the World Cyber Games this summer, though I might not be able to if I don't get a 360 soon. I'm friends with those that are better than me, and I bug them into helping me. I have very few people I'd consider real friends, but a ton of people I talk to. In my eyes, I don't have a dad. His abandonment of me and my mom when I was little isn't helped by him trying to be Super Dad now. I do occasionally hold grudges, but only if I feel there's a worthwhile reason for it. I am almost a pure athlete, with a touch of nerd and gamer. I have hypermetabolism, so I can eat like a pig and sometimes end up losing weight relative to when I started the meal. I love tennis, I plan to play it all my life. I spend $200 on each tennis raquet I buy, and usually go through at least three a year. I have hit someone in the balls with a 124 m.p.h. serve, and he doesn't like me anymore. I reserve hatred for special occasions, and everyone else can settle for either neutrality or dislike, unless they're something out of the ordinary. I don't like horror movies, I think they're pointless. I fear very little, usually only being alone.

I have a terrible immune system, at least for keeping things out. Once I get sick, however, I manage to pass it to most people around me then magically get rid of it in a day, when they're stuck with it for months. I hardly watch T.V., I enjoy having TiVo. Thoughts come to me sporadically, and generally make no sense if you pick them apart in order (such as this post). I seem to myself to be a person of extremes. I have terrible self-esteem, yet I have a beautiful girlfriend. I'm incredibly lazy, yet a great athlete. I eat and eat and eat, yet I'm skinny.

I think the bailouts were bullpomegranate, that they go directly against capitalism, and AIG is retarded. I think Darwinism with business is the way to go, because if someone's there to hold the hands of the businesses that fail, then we end up with a ton of inefficient companies or just plain useless ones. I think pursuing a career as a firefighter or an astronaut or a video game designer is a good thing. I think communism is a good set of ideals, yet could never ever work. I think the United States is a good country to be in, with a pomegranatety government. I also think people from the U.S. that say the United States is pomegranate should try to live in another country for a while. I think Americans are blind to the rest of the world.

I think it is the people's fault for getting fat, not the Big Macs. These lawsuits against McDonalds for the food "making" them fat are nonsense. No one put a gun to your head and forced you to eat eight Bic Macs a day, you can't blame it on the damn food.

I think women are better than men, and that's not because I believe my girlfriend exemplifies what I want in a woman, either. Most men think with their pricks, and I'm glad to say I don't. I still don't know what tl;dr stands for, and I don't like l33t speak.

Omni is still fat.

I am NOT fat. Good God, sir! I am offended!

Though on a serious note, Blaine, I eat a lot too, and I still weigh 110 pounds. I wish I gained my 6-pack abs back. Ugh.. gotta start workin' on it.

Here's a funny truth. Sometimes I wish I was black, so I could still be an inner Twinkie on the inside and be black on the outside. Would be so awesome, because someone would go up to me and say "Oh hey, you're a black guy that likes the typical white + asian people stuff. Awesumz."
#72
I have only spoken English twice in my life (other than reading things from a paper) and although my English may seem not-that-bad when it's written, I can barely pronounce many of the words I use.
#73
My parents are lesbians.

I have never told anyone online that before. Hell, most of the people I know in real life don't know/remember.

EDIT: Further explaining because I talked about it in IRC.

-My parents are also divorced (well, they weren't technically married, but w/e).
-I'm not adopted; the parent I live with used a sperm donor.
-My parents were together for 5 years before they had me.
-I have one fraternal twin brother and 2 younger sisters.
-The parent I don't live with lives nearby (like ~10 minutes) with someone else now. I have not met that person. It's been over 3 years now, and I go to that house to see my mom every Wednesday.
-I usually refer to the parent I don't live with as my "mom's friend" online.

(PARENT PARENT PARENT PARENT- sounded odd to say mom/mother, so...)

I'm autistic. Not totally autistic, but still. It's awkward talking to people since I stutter a lot.

You should feel ashamed for posting this.

@Bold
Story of my life.

I don't like it when people say black. I never got it, especially since my skin color is clearly brown. It might be due to the fact that I'm Nigerian (Born Here, Speak 1 language called English).
I fit absolutely no black stereotypes. None.

I am indeed 14. I indeed love cait. I'm sure she loves me. I have ADD. I have anxiety issues. My memory can be bad sometimes.

I came into this thread knowing that half of you would be like tl;dr. I know Swerve is reading all of these posts from top to bottom. I have a yellow Labrador Retriever who's lying on my bed right now. I love dogs and will automatically play with one if I see one, no matter what breed or how ugly. My parents are still together. I'm at least three inches taller than both of them. I'm 5'10". My dad is a control freak and won't stand for it if anyone speaks out against him, no matter how minor the topic is. I have a growing interest in body modification and plan on getting 14 piercings, possibly more, and god knows how many tattoos. My parents and most of my friends think of it as weird. I am obsessed with the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I play guitar. I only play video games if they interest me and can't stand to sit hours in front of a screen playing one. I used to wrestle in high school.

I'm extremely imaginative but can rarely execute the things I think about. I'm successful at writing compositions and was commended as "best writer" by my teacher in 7th and 8th grade and many times more throughout high school. I do not like publishing my work for school. I'm average or above average at many things I've tried but never had the motivation to go further. I'm selfish and I will struggle to listen to anything I don't really care about in a conversation. I grow angry when I don't get my way but I try not to show it. I'm judgmental and will judge you by the way you look and will fit you into a stereotype immediately. I buy most of my clothes from Old Navy. When it comes to doing anything on a computer, I am a neat freak. I am not a neat freak in real life. I don't like big houses. I believe life should be lived to earn happiness, not money. I hate managing money. I do not like money, yet I know that it is completely necessary. I refuse to spend more than a set amount on some clothes but will gladly fork over a large sum for something like a guitar. I'm extremely sentimental and will refer to things that I have enjoyed in the past very often.

I played MapleStory consistently for three years, but from the time I started playing to now it would be five. I have never gotten a character to level 100. I consider myself to be informed about the game up to the point where I quit. I first started using the Internet around the year 2001. I do not like capitalizing "Internet". The first MapleStory forum I joined was OnRPG in 2005. The first forum I was ever apart of was the AOL Message Boards around 2002. The first MMO I ever played was Neopets around the same time. I wish I never played MapleStory. I play S4 League and Dragonica.

I dislike many people on Southperry and will probably include a list of those people in this post. I dislike many things and yet at one point or another in my life I was fit to be classified as one of those things. I dislike people who do nothing but troll and think that they need to do something more useful with their lives; I think of all trolls as people who are incapable of garnering entertainment from friends because they are socially or otherwise inept and have either few or no friends. I won't care about any responses to the previous sentence because I know some butthurt troll is going to reply to it attempting to troll for the sake of their self-esteem. I do not dislike the act of trolling, and I accept it as a legitimate form of expressing annoyance. I was raised prejudiced against black people because of my father, but I consciously try not to be prejudiced against people because of their race. I dislike flamboyant egomaniacs. I dislike flamboyant homosexuals. I dislike flamboyant anything. I hate rednecks with a passion. I dislike it when people speak out against stereotypical words (Such as "nigger", "fag", etc.) when they're obviously used in a joking or non-serious manner. I probably missed some stuff and will add on to this post later when I feel like it.

Things I like and dislike about Southperry:

- I enjoy the fact that this community is slightly more intelligent and much less AzN than Sleepywood.
- I respect the fact that Fiel takes the time to do extractions in the interest of the community. I myself don't care much about them.
- I enjoy the fact that the Angry Dome and the Speakeasy aren't filled with useless posts from spoiled Asian rich kids who whine about having a thorn stuck in their butt.
- I dislike the level of community involvement on this forum and think it needs to be higher.
- I dislike the fact that this forum is extremely docile in terms of events and whatnot.
- I think that Fiel means well in all that he does for the forum, and I respect that. I don't like the fact that he either does something or does not and is not willing to go halfway. I dislike that he doesn't pay attention to or acknowledge issues or suggestions that do not directly pertain to the structure of the forum. I dislike that he is rigid and is not very willing to try new things. I don't care what any of you think about this or any further criticisms about the moderating staff, and I know that I'm probably wrong about half of what I'm saying.
- I do not like Eosian, nor do I like the fact that he represents the moderating team. The way he types makes him look like an pimento and I can't stand his "like it or get out" attitude. I don't like that he blatantly assumes higher-up position than the rest of the community when he communicates with us.
- I think XTOTHEL is annoying, at least in IRC.
- I view Rayquaza2233 as a friend.
- I view Mira as somewhat of a friend.
- I do not have any opinion of Devil's Sunrise.
- I view Cactuar as a friend.
- I view Russt as a friend.
- I do not always agree with Rick.
- People whom I think positively of on Southperry include, besides the already mentioned, Greg, Throes, Bacon, Providence, Zaotsu, Swerve, Sarah, BTA, Blaine, Rob, Stereo, Jon, Roxas, and FrozNlite. I probably missed some people.
- People whom I think negatively of on Southperry include, besides the already mentioned, Khoi, Will, TobiasBlack, Mark, Ceddybear, ndynslvr, z0mgc00k13, Katie, BDRyan, Mitch, FlameChocobo, and some other people I probably missed.
- I don't care what any of you think about the last two items that I've entered on this list.

I'll add on to this post if I feel like it.

This is probably the only thing that surprised me. It's probably all Ryan's fault. Way to go, Ryan.

When I'm around my friends in a big group, and there is one that knows chinese, I talk pomegranate about my other friends in Chinese to that person.
Oh so much fun.
