Yes, definitely. I'm having a lot of fun.

Let me put it this way, I've been playing the game non-stop for about 10 hours now and have not even gotten near the 2nd gym. there are so many things to do.

also Pokemon Amie is ADORABLE. the pokemon literally follows every single thing you do with your face, even when not prompted. they blink when you do, close their eyes when you do, and their smile completely matches yours.

The Scatterbug I got from a wonder trade from Switzerland has a marking in the status screen that shows it's foreign, the pokemon also had it's Swiss (?) name. However, when it evolved into Spewpa it's name changed to the english version, which is lame.

That's been there in 5th gen. I recall evolving a Japanese Tentacool and its name turned English.

Please tell me most of what you had done was sidetracking. I kind of like not taking forever to do main quests..

There's different patterns you can get per region, apparently. Living in Texas I'd probably either get Modern or Sun pattern.

I heard there's an item that takes away either all or some (I don't remember) EV's of a particular stat.

Funnily enough, I just found one of these items. It's the reset bag, completely resets all EV's.

Looks like I can properly ev train my shiny japanese milotic now, and other crappy ev'd pokemon. So all I need to do is soft reset for modest or just +sp.atk fennekin, and reset evs later. yushhhhh[/COLOR]

For all stats, it completely resets them all.

And yes, there are different bags for different stats (of varying strengths) and the different Balloon "fights" also raise particular stats.

Also I just heard about some post-game stuff.

The routes are a lot bigger, with lots more pokemon and lots more trainers. It's usually still quite easy to backtrack though due to the really fast skates, and the shortcuts you can take

Somehow, I get the impression that some of the new Pokemon were designed to have Mega evos down the road, perhaps in the third version/sequel games.

I mean obviously the mascot Legends for this gen would get one eventually, but it'd also explain the baffling design decisions to have the Florette line be pure Fairy (as far as I've heard) when it obviously should be part Grass, and the Goomy line being pure Dragon when everyone thought it was going to be part Poison (or maybe even Fairy) in the end.

And then there's the hilarious yet unrealistic possibility of Mega Kefki. How the hell would that happen.
