Wii U Discussion: Super Mario 3D World out in all the places (that matter!)
Oh god it finally happened. Zelda meets Dynasty Warriors.

I've always liked Dynasty Warriors, but I'll wait and see what they do with this one.

Please no. Skyward Swords combat was repetitive enough. Making the main seires games a hack'n'slash is a terrible idea. It might make a decent spin off, and that's not to say zelda couldn't do with a better combat system, but this is not the way to do it.

Not too sure about it myself. I haven't played Dynasty Warriors but i have played One Piece: Pirate Warriors and found it to get pretty boring fast.

For those who liked that Hyrule Warriors (name not final) trailer, I recommend checking out Sengoku Basara 3 on the Wii.

These kind of games get a bit repetitive, specially if they lack different styles of gameplay, which can help you not get bored too fast. I wonder how they'll cover that flaw, since the usual way of doing that is having TONS of playable characters, and it feels like the Zelda franchise doesn't have a lot of that to offer (I know there are a lot of characters but still... I dunno).

You could get away with different forms of link and giving them different items. Have Seperate Toon Links/Young Link/ Skyward Sword Link/ Twilight Link each with items unique to the games they came from, and you have 4 visually different characters with different movesets already. Or twilight could go the whole Wolf form/Midna route, which would be cool.

There's the other obvious choices, Ganondorf and Zelda/Shiek. Have shiek be a more speedy ninja type with faster/weak attacks, while ganon/zelda use different magical attacks.

As for other less important characters who could tentatively, they could easily work a zora/goron type character in there. Maybe make them the ones from Majoras mask before link turned them into masks, and you have a good ranged fighter and a heavy hitting close range brawler character respectively.

OOT or SS Impa would be a good choice too, though there would probably be overlap with sheik. I'm sure there are plenty more that could work too.

Of course, the other option is, rather than a bunch of characters, have a significant pool of items that you choose from to use. We already saw the fire rod, bombs and sword in the trailer (and possibly more, can't remember), if they pick a ton of items from the different games, there should be plenty to go around.

I'm on the fence about Dynasty Warriors I can't say I'm a fan, i find i get bored really fast. This could be mediocre. But you never know.

Maybe you'll like the Zelda one more.

I'd like them to make the 3 Goddesses playable. Although did they ever make Farore have official art like they did for Din and Nayru in Seasons/Ages?

or Medli just because <3

Ahh, I wanted to try the Warriors-like game from watching gameplay from Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage.

gong to see how the execution is. I personally enjoy Dynasty Warriors/Samurai Warriors/Warriors Orochi and spinoffs like Dynasty Warriors:Gundam, but the LoZ universe is very character lacking. the only real way to alleviate that is have some kind of entertaining mode thats not found in the others.

Don't know where to put this, but you can pre-order a Luigi's Mansion Figurine for 1500 coins over at Club Nintendo NA.

I didn't say it should be EXACTLY like this, but it does need to be faster paced. It gets pretty old knowing literally every enemy in Zelda is either "tap sword button 3 times to kill" or "Wait. Okay hit it now, once. Wait again. There, hit it one more time. Almost there, just a few more cycles".

When the trailer shows the Dodongo section I was like, "Wow, what if fighting that thing was actually that cool in Ocarina?!"

Dat Bundle and promotion. Sounds hella sweet. Might be the time to go ahead and get a Wii U.
