Summer Update Plan

Yorckie Wrote:Nerfing most tweaked jobs that much is sure unprecedented.

I truly hope the korean player base help them make up for what might be their very last chance.
I would like to know how it may be their last chance.

At this point, in which every major update has promised huge improvements that have not fulfilled players' expectations, or didn't managed to solve problems being mentioned since very long ago, I think most have had enough to get hyped again with another statement of how unprecedented the update will be. At least that's what I've been reading here and on most of Nexon's social media. Their feedback post updates is charged with discontent, lots of players feel the need to quit due to not seeing a promising future for the game.

For those few who are still hoping to get nicely surprised by Nexon, including myself, it might be the last chance for them to make their words don't loose full credibility, in regards of how groundbreaking the update will be, that is.

Remember when they made that promotional video comparing their next update to historical events, calling it "revolutionary", leading us to believe the Resistance was making a real attempt to take back Edelstein? (Which only now happened in Black Heaven.)

.....And it didn't turn out to be much at all?

They overhype minor things too much.

What you mean that's all of GMS right there.

An hour ago a new Developer's Note was released. While the first one was kind of ignored, I suggest visiting Max's Blog since it includes A LOT of info. Anyway, today's one is... impressive to say at the very least. It features some teasers of the revamped graphics and 2D perfomance.

New Kinesis job will use a unique battle pattern based on using telekinesis on enviroment, various objects, including huge ones when fighting monsters. Thrilling form of combat with Kinesis will be showcased (soon?). Besides this is the first job which originates from Friends Story. The storyline will be simillar to a film.

Wow, that looks amazing. I would love to see this fully implemented in the game! The only think that worries me though is how much data this will add onto the already large mess of code that is Maple. Hopefully they'll find a way to make it all work efficiently.

I just hope all this additional animation could be turned off.
My poor old computer won't be able to handle it.

Wow that map stuff is pretty cool. It seems like this new class was made with that in mind.

not sure if anyone feels the same way but i feel like improving the background environment is a waste of resources. just feels weird seeing the same character model in an updated environment, like its out of place.

I think it's pretty cool. It'll be relevant for about a month or so.

How they'll implement this without ridiculous amounts of lag.... good luck nexon
I guess it'll all be dependent on the users computer. My guess is that this is just be a huge update to the map.wz file.

Watch world tour areas in GMS won't be "compatible" with kinesis skills.

There would have to be an update to the rendering code (in the .exe), so it would know what to do with the new map.wz data.
Obviously it's a matter of the user's computer, since it's all client-sided.

The Reboot world is basically a private server, I guess?
Pretty awesome, In one swing they've turned this patch around, Hopefully progress will be real real real real, or should I say, Polar opposite of what we have now lol.
Can't wait for it honestly, especially after all the awesome IGNs I've got, Link skill mules never looked better.
I hope they'll adjust the exp rate a bit, maybe 2~3x all the time, that would be pretty cool.
My only concern is how you'll upgrade the equips, since you can't trade, no money income (Circluation, SF) and flames will be semi-useless.
I'll assume PB was an experiment for how the reboot world would go, since it has so many restrictions!
I wonder if GMS will get it.

Would be awesome if they include Pink Bean (and presumably other monster jobs) as a permanent addition there.~
