Maybe thieves other than kunoichi can start becoming useful?

I finally hit level 70 on my Peacemaker tonight, all the way from level 67, which I even surprised myself by accomplishing. The accessory set is great, as I've learned, since it's account bound and can be tossed to alts with absolute ease. That's really the only worthwhile reward from the challenge event, and it's not even that great. HOWEVER, I'm so glad to have two "capped" characters now, and a Paladin that's sitting pretty at level 66. I'm considering leveling my Ele to eventually use the Ordinary Fused Spirit Stone that I found at Superior grade, which would really pump up the damage on her skills by quite a bit, in addition to a couple of cheap Hyena Keif enchants, for a hefty 41+ all elemental damage, for practically nothing at all. I don't want to cash in on gold sellers by putting it on the AH, because I'm SURE I would feel terribly dirty afterwards. I want all the inflated gold just deleted, honestly. Fucking bots. How is everyone else getting along?

You shouldn't let that bother you. The problem with that mentality is in any game, unless you never trade with other players ever, you'll likely run into some amount of illegit gold at some point. Not much to be done about it.

That is, if you'd even want to sell it.

I have been playing DFO as of late as an avenger. I must say I am having a lot of fun.

I will have to remake on Cain to join you guys though. I am strongly considering doing that, since I was in TR before and I loved it.

I still can't maintain a stable connection with DFO, and I have tried just about all the options that I have available to me.

I can't discern if it's an issue with my ISP, the DFO server, or my laptop.

Dear DFO Players,
This is In Lee, CEO of Neople.
I have a difficult news to share, and I feel apologetic about this.
This might be an embarrassing news for us as a developer.
When we first started to bring back the game, one of our concerns was about whether the players would like the game or not, and another was about the bots and hackers as they were a lot of them when the game was previously serviced.
So I asked the players not to use bots and our expectation was that the bots would disappear if there were no demands.
However, recent developments within the game have started to shift the game towards the wrong direction. The number of bots or web pages selling gold are continuously growing. And they are trading gold using the Auction Hall.
Every day 10,000 ~ 15,000 new accounts are created and 95% of them end up being bots. This has negative impact on the in-game economy, and it sends the wrong message to the players. Many bots appear with inappropriate behaviors and they are luring the players. Almost all of these bots are frauds and they are there to take your money away from you.
We have been constantly monitoring the game, coming up with various ways of stopping these bots, and blocking them systematically every day but all of our efforts are not enough. We are very sorry. On behalf of the entire staff, as the CEO of DFO’s developer, I would like to personally apologize for this.
After careful and painful consideration, we have decided, as a primary measure, to introduce a policy that might be an inconvenience for many of the players. I understand there will be a lot of complaints, but I would like to earnestly request all the players to work together and keep the game clean. The policy we will introduce, (hopefully) with your understanding, is the following:

- Starting date: May 7, 2015 after maintenance
- Characters below Lv.50 (Lv.1~Lv.49) will not be able to sell/buy items from Auction Hall
- All equipment below Lv.50 (Lv.1~Lv.49) cannot be registered to be sold at the Auction Hall
- All “ingredient” items cannot be registered to be sold at the Auction Hall
(I’d like to ask that the players should get these items through playing the game. We will be monitoring the game and have necessary measures implemented if this seems to be too much of an inconvenience).

<Opening Hours of Auction Hall>
- Auction Hall will open for 48 hours every weekend (Saturday 00:00 ~ Sunday 24:00, UTC)
- Auction Hall will be disabled during the May 7th maintenance, and will open at 00:00 on May 9th, UTC).

It would have been better if we could block these bots within the game system but Neople lacks the capability, and I sincerely apologize for this.
I know this will not be easy, but please show your support by cooperating with us. We hope to try different policies such as this one and try to keep the game clean.
I hope all those players who love DFO will give us a helping hand. While the Auction Hall is down, we will track the bot accounts and block them.
I really hope you all understand, and please don’t purchase gold from web pages outside of the game.
Despite the above, if there is no improvement within the game we are also considering the complete closure of the Auction Hall.
Once again I sincerely hope for your kind understanding, and apologize, as the developer, for not being able to place a concrete countermeasure to fight the bots technically.

Yup, I can't even play on the weekends. Coupled with the fact Neople literally answered to someone on facebook with a "we won't be closing the game...at least not yet", I kind of lost all hope. It was fun while it lasted at least.

Last minute panic sale for me, i can always farm for this crap again, but i can only sell it today. pineapple me for not picking every single shet from Supply camp this past month or i would make even more millions lol.

I've already lost interest due to the Alpha Character bullpomegranate. At least they've been answering my tickets, but it's really demoralizing that I can't do any of the events, because they require multiple characters, which Neople told people, like me, to not create additional characters cause it'll screw with the recovery process.

The CEO did say there was a high risk of failure after all.

Running this show with only ten people surely isn't easy, so it's understandable that they offer a bandaid solution to a problem like this while they work (with us) on creating a better solution. Problem is this doesn't fix anything. They could have implemented a captcha on creating accounts. They could have put back the goblin pad. They could have implemented phone verification. All of these would have made a difference. Right now, the thousands of gold bots will still be made everyday. They will still farm gold to the point where you can buy the gold cap for less than a happy meal at mcdonald's. They will keep selling gold through animator shops. But WE, on the other hand, will be forced to run around and level in blue gear. I will have to stop farming for anything that is worth it, since I simply won't be able to sell it on the weekends.
Right now, thousands of gold bots will still be made everyday. Also, the choice of words neople used in this post, and in the comments, clearly says they don't know what to do and are already considering clonsing it. Just look at the facts without fooling yourself. The chinese have won. Neople are better than Nexon in terms of communication with the playerbase, but at least, Nexon managed to stop a crapton of gold bots away (except for the last 6 months when they just gave up). I will keep playing, because I like having a spark of hope, but I won't be delusional. Neople doesn't know how to take action against bots, and they have just admitted it.
I would like a wipe for original release, along with a bunch of security measures, but who am I kidding.
