I had similar fears of Mario 64 when I was a kid, though. I always felt like Bowser was going to storm into my room and eat me, or something. But one of the more hilarious fears concerning videogames of the time that I had were the anti-piracy messages and horrible glitches: Some games would give them out when they were dirty/the cartridge was jiggled around. Stuff like:

Cheerleaders. When I was in high school, most of them had incredibly high pitch voices and looked like clones of one another and never seemed to have a grind off their made-up faces. Their captain was like 28 or something and she acted as a high schooler herself and even hung out with the girls on the squad. It was very very very creepy! Loli complex if you ask me.
