You guys have spent more time arguing the purpose then fullfilling a general request, which frankly is just reitterating your opinion to someone who has a better chance of getting nexon to read it than whining in the general section, lol

Honestly I don't even know why you have that as a requirement, probably for the message history feature, but Pm's would suffice :|

Most of my feedback would actually be for kMS team... When Kaisers, Xenon (dunno after the nerf) or DB do 2x the damage of a below average class (like Aran) with the same range, it makes my blood boil. Not to mention douche ignore damage reflect, super godlike avoid, godlike status resistance, invisible frames, amazing hp, top-tier f'ucking everything.
Now I'm not sure if they just have sincere hate for some classes at Nexon or if they have no idea what they're doing. But I think the main reason is that the dmgcreeps who give them the most money always go to the overpowered ms-on-easy-mode classes. Nexon obviously wants to please this portion of the playerbase because if not, these certain players would go to basil to cry about how they spent $50000 on cubes and Marvel and now they no longer do 2x more dmg than every other class in the game. I know, sounds like a rant because I made the wrong choice of class (and it is just that, partially). But it's not just Aran, it's many more classes than that. I just know the flaws of Aran the best because I play it. But really, just look at the top 100 players, or the maplers with most dmg, it's not a very diverse group. Compare the amount of dbs, xenons and kaisers in there to the amount of say, battle mages, evans or i/l mages. You know something is wrong with the balance. TL;DR: They release new classes with no flaws, when the balance of the old ones is already all over the place. They keep buffing the ones already at the top because thats what their biggest money source (powercreeps and ks-douchebags) play.

SaptaZapta Wrote:That is quite commendable of you, and I wish you luck. Though you may sound discouraging it in itself is the truth of the matter. Still it is worth a try instead of doing nothing. Logic says Nexon won't care, but at least you can say you tried right.

Haha, I'm divided on whether or not I should submit my opinion or not. I'm a bit of an odd case.
Basically, I log onto GMS occasionally, usually just to test out some new class or content. I used to play a lot (12X Sniper before 4th jobs came out, 14X Buccaneer on El Nido just after Big Bang, ranked #2 Bucc on the server before I stopped), but now I keep my Mapling to unofficial servers. However, I like to keep up with stuff via Southperry so I can get information on how things work in GMS, along with looking at all those fun extractions of KMST material. So my opinions may not be beneficial to Nexon because I disagree with the 'cash shop = more powerful character' mentality. I believe good stats and equipment should be earned, not purchased. Nexon's made a few steps in the right direction with events, but then I run into other issues that prevent me from sticking around for the entire duration of the event. But then again, perhaps those issues might be helpful to hear? I almost feel like a new player every time I get on GMS again because I have so little of value and not much in terms of link skills, character cards, blessing points, etc. And as a recurring "new player" who is experienced and knowledgable about Maple Story, I could shine some light on the frustrations of the market, mastery books, and lack of a pet that keep making me not want to stay.

As I've written upthread, I think it's even more important to hear from people who have quit Maple (or, like you, get their Maple fix elsewhere), because that will help Nexon find the fatal flaws, the issues that are driving users away.

SaptaZapta Wrote:I would feel a lot more optimistic about this if it had been initiated by Nexon. Or at least acknowledged by them. You know, a word form Aurtax in the thread over there on their forums, something to the tune of "please cooperate with Maryse, we'd love to hear what you all have to say". I've instituted a "voice of the players" section to my weekly report, based off of what I see while interacting with everyone over Facebook, Twitter, Fansites, Reddit, and the official Forums. Maryse is an outstanding Volunteer who is going above and beyond in her role to try and get a candid response from players--as she mentioned some players have concerns but are timid to voice all of them. She is making an effort to give you another way to voice those concerns if you choose. This is completely optional, feel free to reach out to her if you want to participate. If not, I am still doing all I can to get feedback across from all of the social media platforms I am constantly reviewing. I understand that not everyone uses Skype, but that is the method she has chosen to initiate this communication. Good luck in collecting information Maryse. :0)

If you drove a Toyata Corolla would you expect it to be as slick, awesome and fast as a Ferrari? It is impossible to truly balance all the classes in Maple. If they did every job would be exactly the same with a slightly different paint job.

You can spend 10 grand on a Corolla to have it tricked out and reach its full potential, or you can spend 10 grand on the Ferrari where at the base it is already better than the fully tricked out Corolla and then spend another 10 grand to have the Ferrari reach its full potential. You shouldn't expect a Corolla to outdo a Ferrari anytime, you shouldn't have bought the Corolla in the first place if all you wanted was speed and power. You want to drive a Corolla, that's cool, that's fine, maybe you enjoy driving a Corolla over a Ferrari, completely your business. However you should never expect your Corolla to do better than a Ferrari, except maybe on MPG, no matter how much you spend on it, that isn't how the world works, that isn't even how video games work.

Eh....balancing wouldn't solve it either. When you guys mentioned balance, I was reminded of imbalance. The examples in the video are good but I feel street fighter IV is another example of imbalance. Say for example take the best character in the roster (I.e. Akuma, Seth, Etc) and make them goes against someone not so great (I.e. Dan or Hakan). Some of the time, the bad characters lose but there are cases where those said "bad" characters beat the good ones. After watching a major tournament and seeing that 1st place isn't a character that isn't popular in the fighting game community, it just shows that not every character needs a hadoken to win....though, that would be silly seeing Zangief with a hadoken. ![]() Edit: Then again, M. Bison had a "fireball" move in one of the games in the series.... Edit edit: My point is that instead of having a Corolla and a Ferarri in the list of characters, why not have a list of exotic cars that are almost equal of each other in certain aspects of the game. It is difficult (and nearly impossible) but a bit of elbow grease and it might be awesome in the end. :b

I think it's more alarming that 10 grand is a realistic number reached when it comes to gearing your character to be considered "decently" funded.

While I know you said in the first post
Quote:However, I won't be taking any hacker/bugs and glitches reports. I feel like I just have to say that I'm really disappointed in the way they reports are handled (they aren't most of the time). If I take the time to document the bug while also giving video evidence that clearly shows the bug, the absolute least Nexon could do is acknowledge it. Even if they never planned on fixing it...

That's legitimate feedback. The point is that Mayrse's goal for this project isn't to make a list of unrecognized bugs, but simply saying that Nexon is not efficient in their ability to recognize and squash bugs in a timely fashion is something that would be considered feedback.

I had no idea which class Nexon would choose to make their personal favorite. Back then Aran was one of the best classes and that's why I funded one. The most important reason was fun though. I came from pre-BB Bishop which was powerful but really really boring. It's just really hard to have fun if half of the content is off-limits. At least in todays MS where everything seems to rotate around damage and the potential system.

Finally stopped lurking and joined southperry.
I left my concerns on skype to maryse im glad she is taking the initiative to take our feedback. My main concerns are not to punish nx buyers. Im glad they get what they get, its just those who spend x1000 hours in a game instead of spending x1000 dont get the same rewards. They should be rewarded differently. Someone who invests in a corolla has hopes of one day owning a ferrari. You simply start off as a corrola.

Solving the NX balance is really simple. You gain NX rewards from quests as well as party quests and bosses. If you make it proportional it's fine, like nothing over 1 dollar, 50 cents or something. They would solve not only the massive difference but revive other aspects of the game.

This is exactly what they did with mileage except it works as a discount so it gives you 30% off stuff when you spend nx. So it doesn't affect free to play players but 30% off is really pretty good... |
