No additional options?

40 % impale

85%

i'd still need to sacrifice something to be able to reach 100% cap, 3-pirate set isn't feasible (i need my character bonuses, plus to-come cygnus resistance thinguies)
getting a 15% pdr neb would mean i can't get a better damage %boss neb

this doesn't account for the non-working ambition though, which would make it 95% from pretty much base. in which case i'd have to sorta agree with you. but when you compare the current system with KMS's...

what i don't get is why they turned PDR multiplicative, but boss damage wasn't? i mean that way they'd have balanced the two much better

Lets just put it this way, if they make no changes at all, we will be seeing mercedes run around with 100% PDR without crusader codex.

85% from skills and 15% from lumi link.

It's not as game breaking as some of you guys seem to think it is. Like an hour after I logged on after Unlimited in kMS, I had a +36 or something STR level 90 warrior top, and you know, since I didn't flame it and it's not 140, I can trade it as much as I please. Even additional options on 150 equips are still in the 20~50 range, they just have more of them, and unless you're Xenon, there's not really much of a point in having like 40 stats in every stat anywaay. Even attack isn't that much. I found a 3atk level 90 overall, the highest above clean Empress equip I've seen was like, 6atk above. It doesn't make much of a difference whether you're using Empress or level 110 or 100 or 90 gear, the difference in stats between equips is pretty much the same as before.

It's not the additional options that made post-Unlimited bossing possible. They were already taking down bosses when Unlimited started and doing like 5m+ hits. Do you really think with what little time they had, they flamed their equips for the best possible stats or alternatively, hunted for, scrolled, and flamed new equips? Those people were probably already that strong, but you know, damage cap.

For people who are seriously dedicated to one character, they can flame their equips as much as they want to get the stats you want, but honestly, how many of you are gonna trade your best equips more than 5, or 10, or 20 times, anyway? Especially weapons, how many times are you gonna trade the new weapon types that are pretty much exclusive to one class? I understand it's nice to have the option to trade, my best equips are pretty much all fully tradeable, but it's not like you're forced to use flamed equips either. You still have the option of hunting for new equips as well (except Empress, which sucks, but hey, what can you do?), and re-cubing, which, almost too good to be coincidental, is much easier with the free cubes dropping from bosses, like Zak, Normal Hilla, and HT that weren't changed, so you could go on killing them to cube your equips, though only to epic, not to mention the few Unique Pot Scroll events, if you're really that dedicated to having tradeable equips.

Not to mention, despite all the nasty rep Additional Options has with making things untradeable, they made having tradeable decent skill items possible.

Additional options was pretty much a completely free upgrading system that gave you a few extra stats, it does little to the huge gap between players, but at least it's an overall upgrade for everyone.

well I for one don't care much about addition options as the bosses changing for the worse and Ignore PDR becoming multiplitive. And i see additional options as their reasoning for all of this buffing.

Additional options don't add that much of a boost, is the point of my post.

If there were any reason for buffing bosses, it'd be the fact that raising the cap let people go from doing 1m hits to 5m or 10m or 15m or even 50m, which isn't caused by additional options alone; they're just not capable of that big of a buff.

weren't there %boss damage and such additional options though?

Root Abyss stuff would gain the same stats as Tyrant equips, unless it's a weapon, then it gains the normal attack bonus from enhancements and then all the stats it would if it were superior and an extra attack per star 6 and above. Except unlike superior equips, you can use normal shielding wards and go up to 12 stars, and the chance of passing stars 10 and above is higher than with AEEs.

what are the rate for MEE scrolling?

1 star = 60%
2 star =?
and so on?

12+ star? = ?

Like 15% max, as far as I've seen, for weapons only. Which isn't really all that much depending on how much % Damage and Boss you already have, because of diminishing returns and all. There's regular % Damage as well, and % All Stats, and that's it.

+20% when you scroll between 2PM and 4PM server time during the event, which I'm pretty sure is (success rate+20)% and not (1.2 * success rate)%.

ok. I guess cap raise is more of a reason. I just saw AO as the reason even though it didnt buff up equivalently, as for the reason of my distress. but really the ignore PDR gets me. I think my damage is fine how it is (400k per line crit max with para) but I have other "non damage" areas I need to work on but they all seem to get nerfed one way or just dam impossible to obtain. ill end my QQing now though.

I think that is the way it should be. We shouldn't have to rip our hair out just to get 100% PDR ignore.

And we should be able to get a cap on this game and not just a damage cap.

But then on the other hand, what's the point of even having a defense stat if like, almost everyone is capable of just ignoring it?

This goes into a very complex area. You have a defense stat, you have skills and other things that ignore it. You could say you may as well remove the stat and the stuff that ignores it.

But also as you level up your skills or you gain an item or whatever your character slowly becomes more powerful on its own without having to spend stupid amounts of cash. You feel like you're actually becoming more powerful the more you level without changing your equips or anything.

Think character progression in a game filled to the brim with it through (mostly) cash-only means. I like it even if it doesn't really make a difference whether we are all running around with near 100% ignore or if the system wasn't even in place.

I understand what you're getting at with this and i think you're right.

What girasol said makes me think they'll cap PDR ignore at 90% or something. It's still relevant, and you can still reach it easily, but it will still reduce your damage enough to have an impact.

Am I the only one that doesn't care?

I mean, it's ridiculous enogh as it is. Say we have a clean weapon. You can:

2x Hammer it for 2 extra slots
Add 9 scrolls with 10 15 20 30 50 whatever % scrolls, or chaos scrolls
Use white scrolls and lucky day scrolls and pam's song and shield scrolls which are the new white scrolls and blablabla
Clean slate or innocence scroll the whole thing in case you mess up or wanna redo
Add little stars using equip enhancements or new mega super shiny equip enhancement scrolls or 5 star scrolls blabla
Use protection scrolls to add moar stars till it looks like a pineappleing constellation
Use potential scrolls and then cube for epic unique legendary and 3 lines
Add 3 more lines of potential using additional potential and cube again for all of it
Carve a nebulite slot and insert a C B A S

NOW YOU WANT LITTLE FLAME INSERTING SYSTEM THINGY

could you additional options a character locked item (e.g. reverse item) then karma it over to another character? If it worked that way I was gonna karma over my old knuckle to my Thunder breaker when they got revamped.

Would like to have a bit of the old nebulite boxes back. Not in the "drop every single mob" type way, but more like a scroll drop rate from monsters. Alternatively the ability to get A rank nebulites without NX in tangent with the better drop rate would make things SOOOOOO much better for poor people who cant afford to keep up with the joneses. Maybe they're just going to make their own new potential system?

i get the feeling the gap is going to become even larger.

additional options at least tried to help it, even if it was a tiny bit
i'm beginning to fall behind and it's really obvious to me lately

anyway i'm wary of what nexon NA is going to do with our unlimited patch

And implement boxes as rewards too like in those surprises box of this event and the daily thing events nebs are extinct just like rare mobs.

Flames are just basically re-rolling an item's stats from when it was dropped. It's not really an upgrade system like the rest of that stuff. Oh, your weapon started out 3 atk below? Well, flame it, now it's like it was 7 atk above instead, like that. Pretty sure you can't end up with under average stats after flaming, but your bonuses could go down, flame the same weapon again and it might go to 4 above average instead, or average, or 10 above. But you can flame to your hearts content as long as you had the appropriate flame.

No, it doesn't let you trade completely untradeable equips.

Pink Bean Wrote:additional options at least tried to help it, even if it was a tiny bit

Additional options didn't really do much for the gap since bonuses are pretty much equal across the higher leveled stuff stuff, it didn't make the gap smaller, but it didn't make it bigger either, more of a shift upward, but it was kind of a positive because it let everyone get stronger instead of just people who can afford to throw money at the game.

I think if Nexon goes too much towards the "pay to win" way, they'll start to loose out.

If they do it right, things can get pretty nice. If they don't, downward spiral. I see having changes in unlimited as something quite good actually! Just let's wait out and see if the changes are for the good or the bad. Meanwhile, I'd like to point out something about cubing.

People hate it because all of the money you spent before using it is completely wasted. Let's take a look at another free to play game that has enormous ammounts of sales and seems to be doing it right: Team Fortress 2.

They have a small side of "gambling" too. And people are okay with it. Why? Well, 2 reasons:
1. People who don't buy the crates and keys notice no disadvantage.
2. People who spend multiple keys know what can be in the crate, and even if they get something they don't want, they can keep it. It's not a reroll, it's a net profit.

In fact, everything used for money in the game is purely cosmetic. Because all weapons are obtainable through drops. And yet people spend without a problem. They even have no troubles spending money to play a game mode playable totally freely too, just to have particular rewards for clearing it with other people. COSMETIC rewards, actually. I'm talking about MvM, a game mode similar to dimension invade, but with robots and a bombhole.

I don't know, it feels like there's potential to attract people towards the Free to Play mechanic without taking people away. I still don't undrestand why non-nx cubes only go up to epic, for example. It'd make sense if occult cubes gave shards too, and 10 of those shards gave a normal miracle cube. Hard to obtain? Yes. Obtainable without NX? yes. An incentive for people willing to pay to spend more? yes, too!

That went longer than I thought... But oh well, my two cents.
