All soda of the same ''type'' taste the same to me. Root beer is root beer, dark soda like Coke/Pepsi are all the same, etc.

I have yet to try a beer that I like, but I enjoy all fruity/sweet drinks.

For me, there are two kinds of root beer. Barq's and everything else. They aren't kidding when they say Barq's has bite. I think it's the caffeine.
