I was referring to the end when that guy talked about making the news look boring and such stuff.

Sometimes I'm surprised the world doesn't collapse under the weight of how horrible it often is.

By no means justifying any type of shooting, BUT WHO DOES THAT...and to add to it, to an Elementary school?
Ugh, I feels so sympathetic towards the families of those that have died today, they'll never be able to celebrate Christmas without this lingering in their minds now.

Also, leave it to the media to accuse the totally wrong person, as well.

I was actually thinking about this earlier before i visited this thread. The media DOES draw too much attention to the killer. It provides a sort of sick minded appeal to being immortalized for their horrible actions.

Think about it; some disturbed individual who feels meaningless or just has nothing to lose seeing how this one person gained so much power; the suffering, the face plastered everywhere, the attention. So they see all this and realize 'Even if i die doing it, i'm going to be etched into minds forever for it.'

And that's why I want the coverage for these kinds of tragedies to focus on the victims. To be a reminder that we have to love and care for each other even in suffering. and to legally refer to the killer as 'Garbage', cause their name doesn't need to be known, nor their face, beyond any information that will be useful for protecting ourselves. They're insignificant and don't need to be acknowledged but as society's trash for betraying it.

I'm not saying EVERY criminal does it for that reason, but the media sure as hell don't need to provide ANY MORE INCENTIVE.

TV shows are not more important than the lives of innocent children lost.

My heart goes out to everyone affected by this tragedy. It is hard to even begin to know what these people, and community, are going through; not to mention what the mental repercussions that will come as a result. I hope for the best for each one of them as they continue forward.

Reaction-based society at its finest. I think it's totally relevant; people don't do pomegranate about something, even if they know it's wrong, until it has some effect on them. Until then, they just turn a blind eye. I think gun control debates starting up at this point is almost as classless as no gun control debates starting up because of it.

Yeah, sure, touching and all that, look at the president he is so fucking sensitive he's crying about little kids; until you notice that during most of the address he's looking down at the sheet of paper his PR guys wrote out for him. He really needed to parrot out someone else's opinion for THIS? If there were any time for a REAL speech, it would be now. Which side of the story do you think is more appealing though to some shmuck tired from work and going through channels? These stations want to retain viewers for as long as possible and increase the number of viewers watching, mostly so they can justify placing higher premiums for advertising to prospective sponsors.

It goes without question that humans do not deserve to have guns as a collective species for any type of recreational possession.

But that is not the underlying issue, as providing institutions that actually help those mentally ill and psychologically disturbed to this extent is something that will always fall through the cracks given the necessary manpower to staff such an effort and the funds needed to keep psychiatric wards vigilant to prevent another black herring incident like this from happening.
