So, we're getting Light, the White Mage, as the last legendary hero. That means there won't be a Pirate hero and this class will be of its own type - that being of the (2)700 code variety, whatever that may be.

I'm not sure Light is a class name. Usually class names are written phonetically using Hangul, while Light here is written as 빛, beech, I think. I would think they would go with 라이트, Light, to hint at it being a name.

But, I know very little about Korean, I'm just pretty sure his name isn't Light.

I'm assuming Nexon of Korea would use a play on words to hint at his name because it's what Nexon of America would probably do.

I'm liking the idea that the black mage split into a good and evil half.

This character is dressed in black clothes with chains similar to the Black Magician in the Tower of God x MapleStory crossover manwha.
Now with this secret diary entry, you see this character dressed in white. I think this has something to do with the Black Magician. Reincarnation of the Black Magician? lol

Speaking of the Black Magician, in the first week of July, he will attack Battle Square.

Because right now the Grand Battle is held to train all Maplers to defend Maple World from danger. Because signs are showing that the Black Magician has resurrected.
In early July, the Black Magician will aim for the source which is Battle Square. After his attack, Battle Square is in ruins and training can no longer continue, meaning players can't participate in Grand Battle mode anymore.

EDIT: Patch date is 7/5. Battle Square map will change, Grand Battle mode will be removed and the minimum/maximum settings for the PC are changed after the patch as well.

Requirements for black mage fight (Will be set up like CWK):

Original's (Aran/evan/phantom/mercedes/possible pirate class) and this new class.

After seeing the staff thing, I thought of Diablo3's Monk weapon, a daibo (though I've never actually seen one equipped, it looks like one from the inventory picture). Diablo's Monks also use knuckles, so it's not hard to connect that to pirate~>knuckle, another pirate~>daibo, right?

No I'm not saying anyone is wrong, I'm saying that some people seem convinced of their most pessimistic fears lol, almost like this diary entry was an official announcement of something concrete. Just like JETT, let's wait and see before we (maybe rightfully) put it down.
