I was more mocking the way that people like to knee-jerk that Maplestory steals plot ideas that were hardly original in the first place.

Me thinks that there were originally seven, but only 4 being there (Orca, DS, Von Leon, and Akhryum) seems to me like they were killed off, and the Black Mage only revived/reclaimed the ones that mattered most to him. Furthermore, this may be me, but I think the jMS Silent Brigade dude (Bastille) is at least an agent of Black Mage.

It'd be interesting to see if any more Goetics make their way into the story, as I felt Goetia got squashed due to the Vatican's hammer of anti-anything-not-blaspheming-Jesus.

All in all, if they DO release another General, it'd have to tie in somehow with the outside world. Von Leon's in El Nath, Orca's in Edelstein, we have no idea where Akhyrum could be sent to (or maybe he's like Nagini - Black Mage keeps him close because of his value), and as for the other areas Black Mage's followers have not been sent: Ludibrium, Leafre, and Victoria Island are prime and kicking.

If anything though, I feel they need to make a giant story quest line leading up to the Black Mage expedition for those of us who ACTUALLY LIKE TO QUEST! The grinders have their space, and we questers have ours.

I'm leaning towards more door to the future areas myself too, but yes, the first door we had opened was the door to the present, and we can be pretty sure its not that.

Edit: Yeah, I'm a idiot, the door that is "open" is the middle one, which is the present, but we never go through it, the one we enter through is the past which has a small crack in the door. Yeah.

They just need to have all story lines continue past level 80 since most of them tend to die right there.
I definitely agree; there's a huge waste of potential when it comes to implementing quests and stories in this game. They're getting better about it though!

Maybe he's been hiding with us all along and since we didn't have access to it, the future happened.

Arn't we in the present, and that is the reason why the door to the present is open? The past door is broken, and the powerfull force brok for us to go to the fture. This door is most likely another future, since the future can be changed, over and over again. This is what happens when you play with time.

We don't have access to the past yet. We have "Present" and "Future", no past yet. I wouldn't doubt if this is actually an extension of the future, since we've only seen a small glimpe of what destruction has occured in the future. We haven't even seen what happened to the other continents and towns, and having a "Future" Temple of Time be accessible could be just what we need to see the horror.
Maybe Nexon is pulling a "Ocarina of Time" on us and they're showing us the future Maple World if none of us (Adventures / Heroes / Resistance / etc) appeared.
