looks like no DAR

The only advantage a botter has over you is that they can kill faster and without paying attention. The probability of the recipe dropping for them is the same as it is for you.

EmpireSun Wrote:Well, it's not like we are going to get the DAR in 1 day.

We need to craft 10 days in a row with Zero mistakes.
12:00am PST: Craft until you reach max fatigue.
8:00pm PST: Craft again and reach max fatigue.
11:00pm PST: Use Fatigue potions and craft before fatigue resets.

Many of us have jobs and we don't live in that "Timezone". For me, staying up until 2:00am it's not reccommended. Others have a social life so maybe they will take more than 10 days to reach lvl 10 profession.
On top of that, for the people that invested in ores (not plates) you need 2-3 mining mules doing the Refining job. If you are lacking ores, another mule to farm ores.
I don't know you, but doing that for 10 days straight requires some dedication and we should be properly rewarded.

So no, we are not getting that stupid recipe "easily".

Not going to get it all now so it doesn't matter, does it? BiggrinBiggrinBiggrin

Dedicating yourself to something like this for 10 days still isn't the appropriate means of obtaining something that is, for lack of a better term, godly. Something so good should take months of grinding until one lucky day you stumble upon it and weep tears of blood and then fight amongst yourselves about who gets it until it disappears and none of you get it and you vow to never make the same mistake again so instead create a debate sub-forum here at southperry where we all judge you like in an election and decide who is most worthy and in what order. The last place people will likely drop out and compete with/dc hack the other group with an "if I can't have it, nobody can!" mentality.

That's the way godly items should be dealt with. Anything less is laughable and just shows how little Nexon cares about the state of this game. Good things need to be worked hard for. Harder than 10 days of strategic button clicking and meso/NX spending to reset your fatigue and get all the materials you need.

Sarah Wrote:I wasn't aware it was an event ring but this makes me happy regardless.

A great ring that no one will ever have is still better than a great ring that only pompous rich exploiter pricks will have. This event will be successful in that it's something no one can buy their way in to. That's the best event Nexon has held in years.

This isn't entirely aimed at you, but it's disappointing that you think all the people who can get the ring are "pompous rich exploiter pricks", and even more disappointing that everyone seems to think everyone who's disappointed are disappointed because they spent billions to get the ores necessary. I admit that, yeah, a lot of the people who would have it if we held the event would be, but that's not everyone. I didn't go crazy and spend billions on the possibility that we would have this event, but I do have the ores for it. I didn't think about this event until a few days ago, when I got curious and decided to put all my ores across all my characters together. I have a significant amount, enough to get to a pretty high level, I can mine for the rest in a few days. This probably applies to a few other people as well, and yeah, I'm disappointed. I didn't put as much effort into this as other people do, so I can only imagine how they feel.

Wow, I said disappointed a lot.

Well, basically, I'm more upset by the way people are treating those people who did their best to prepare for the event than actually not getting the ring, since I didn't really think it was a possibility until pretty recently.

Takebacker Wrote:Cygnus has never been defeated so no one knows what she drops. People assumed PB dropped timeless stuff before it was killed.

She could easily drop recipes to get 140 stuff, which would probably require a dream stone, which is ironically, also dropped by cygnus. If that were the case not even the RUNNERS (and by runners i mean attackers, not bishops) would be able to get a lot of 140 stuff without shelling out a hell of a lot of money.

The only 140 recipes are for capes and the ring, I've seen quite a few pieces of armor in the FM in Culverin, but no weapons. They probably are dropped by Cygnus, the weapons I mean.

CommanderJinn Wrote:Here's hoping the light angelic bless ring has an event which makes it possible to get >.> And apparently there was an SS of it dropping from Zak on EllinForest. I mean sure their on different levels of necessity, but the argument that it's Nexon and they mess things up all the time so we shouldn't complain about it doesn't really work well with the precedent of them not giving us SP resets (at first).

You need a Dark Angelic Blessing Ring to make the White Angelic Blessing Ring, it's one of the ingredients.

What about everyone else who wanted and very well could have gotten the Angelic Bless Ring, a basic Android or the less-giant but still Giant Potion. Said it once, I will say it again, those items were attainable at Level 4, the amount of work to get those is akin to logging in for an Evolution Ring, everyone could have gotten one, no preparation is necessary and everyone would have gotten something that was worth looking forward to. Don't start, I know people looking forward to the Android and Giant Potions and not just the Ring.

Disclaimer: I, too, have nearly everything prepared and am equally peeved about the lack of DAR, however I think it was in everyone's interest, players, the Profession system and MapleStory included to have this event.

What the hell are you talking about now? I'm pretty sure killing monsters non-stop 24/7 gives them an actual chance of getting the recipe compared to me or white who can't even kill monsters for longer than 20 hours at MOST. There are 168 hours in a day.

Nevermind the fact that botters kill 10x faster than us by default.

@ iamfear: Yeah, this instantly voids anyone's chances of getting the white angelic bless too, WHICH I ONLY JUST FOUND OUT EXISTED TODAY.

yeah, too bad months of grinding isn't enough. in kms people train at the tot monster that supposedly drops it consistently, and zakum every time they're allowed. not a single recipe has been proven to have dropped. for anyone. ever. that in and of itself is a problem. although this might be giving nexon too much credit, i feel like the ring's drop rate was either made extremely low or removed temporarily on purpose, given how easy they were to get in the first place.

Empress or PB should drop this recipe, not zak, and at a better rate. If that was the case I wouldn't be so pissed about GMS missing out on this event. The best rewards should be for beating a really hard boss a few times, not beating an easy one a few thousand.

Sarah Wrote:The more super rare items the game has the better it is. Not everything should be served up on a silver platter and the game started going down hill the second everyone and their mother had a zakum helm. As long as there's a 0.001% chance it will drop, it's fine. If only one person has it by the end of next year, then great. Just hope you're that one person.
Wait, aren't you the one who militantly hates botting/exploiting/duping? You realize the benefit of doing those things increases the more Nexon relies on rarity to cover bad game design, right?

Appropriate risk/reward is constructive game design. Increasingly obscene rarity encourages people to cut corners.

What the dark angelic bless ring opportunity would have rewarded was a lot of ore mining on mules, or FM foresight. Are you suggesting that restricting rewards to repeatedly grinding at one location is preferable to that? Especially since a lot of ore mining on mules and market forces changing FM to reflect the new crafting system was invariably in our future anyway.

Basically, you'd be saying there should only be one way to play, and it should be the most boring and arbitrary possible. I tend to disagree.

That's NOT a problem. A rare drop is a sweet prize. Everything -- EVERYTHING in this game is handed to people. And it's handed to people with money the most. This was almost the case with this item too, but Nexon said "nooooooooooooooooooooooope, not today." And that's a damn fine thing. You want a good item? You work for you. You pray for it. If it's not worth that to you then you don't get the item. That's all there should be to it.

It doesn't encourage anything of the sort. Lack of self-control, sense of entitlement and poor rationalizations are what fuel "corner-cutting." If you want something you damn well better work for it if that's what's necessary. There's no excuse for anything less.

I don't understand how people expect to get by in life when they just want everything handed to them. Did you all grow up under mommy and daddy's wallet where they could buy your way through life and looked the other way when you did wrong?

Grinding in one place may be boring as pineapple but when I hunted monster cards that's exactly what I did and when I was finally rewarded with what I was hunting for it was a damn good feeling. Nothing like that exists in MapleStory anymore, and I personally look forward to such a thing returning.

Tbh, on the first paragraph I only read the first sentence, the rest I think it was unnecessary/exaggerating.
But if that's your "definition" on godly items, I guess this game has absolutely no godly items for you.

Even if you dedicate yourself 365 days to get this "Godly recipe", like Takebacker said: "By the time you get this recipe, a better ring with potencial will come out"

You're undermining the time and effort it takes to get to level 10 profession. Plus you're forgetting that forging the ring is actually a challenge in itself. Nevermind the fact that you need hundreds of plates to be able to get the recipe, nevermind the fact that you have to be SPOT ON with the use of your fatigue, nevermind the fact that you have to wake up at EXTREMELY UNREASONABLE times to max out fatigue asap, nevermind the fact that you only have 15 days to do it, nevermind the fact that you need a lot of valuable items to make the ring once you get there, if it isn't only dropped at a .00001% rate it's being handed to you!

Every single thing i just said is a LOT more work than getting on MS and AFKing for 17 days straight, and the reward for doing that wasn't even as good as DAB.

White Angelic Blessing Ring, the new one, not the Angelic Blessing Ring.

I could have sworn that your thread also had the info on what each item adds, but I can't seem to find it.

With that said, would you be able to recall what the White Angelic Bless Ring offers?

Only further proving the point that it would be an event for the rich when you use terms like "you need a lot of valuable items to make the ring once you get there"

Event items for the rich shouldn't exist. I might empathize a little if it was an event that just required you to be awake at unreasonable hours but if the average joe doesn't have a chance even after all of that then nope, it's not a good event, it's not a good test of endurance. It would just be another event for rich sacks of crap to wag their plantains. Good things shouldn't only come to those with money.

All Stats +10, 150 HP/MP, 12 ATK/MATK buff, and it also gives 80 Charm EXP, 80 Willpower EXP, and 80 Ambition EXP when you equip it for the first time.

Also, I stopped putting in equip stats, sorry =/

It's possible for the poor too.
You just need to do the ores on a mule to not waste fatigue.

After you get the recipe you can take all the time you want to actually gather the mats for the ring. It's getting there in the first place that's difficult.

Define rich. There's billions on hand rich and then there's hundreds of millions rich. I might be overexaggerating when i say valuable, but it's OBVIOUSLY not something that would be as unreasonable as the kind of drop rate the recipe has. We're talking 20 lidium wisdom and dex crystals being the hardest things to get to forge the ring and you have unlimited time to get it. That isn't unreasonable even for the average player.

Good thing you don't need that much money to do the event then. Even if you were unfunded, just keep making level 30 mules to max fatigue on mining for ores. That's really all you need to do this. Sound hard? It isn't. Sound easier than just buying everything you need? No way in hell. Doable either way? Yes.

Good things don't come only to those with money, it only comes to them a lot faster.
