Can't Nexon just rollback all characters who entered Hob PQ after the server check? They store data for number of failed/completed PQs... Have they ever done selective rollbacks? =/

They can't do selective rollbacks.
The term "rollback" is misleading, it makes people think of something rewinding, undoing actions one by one.
In fact, what we call "rollback" in maplestory is simply a restore from a savepoint. They would simply overwrite the current database with the backup they (presumably) took during the previous maintenance.

Attempting to roll back only specific characters will lead to inconsistencies in the database.

What they could, conceivably, do, is de-level these characters but leave their other attributes intact. Not by a "rollback" but by updating the data, same as they did with deleting certain "exploited" items or meso.
It would be tricky business and I doubt they'd bother.
I expect they will either do nothing or randomly ban some people.

I don't think Nexon has systems set up to deal with things like that.

And i highly doubt they ever will.

We had selective rollbacks in Windia which caused Cyanne to lose all her stuff.

LF no RB or bans, I got 12 levels in a little over an hour. 133-145.
So broken.
I had just gotten to ToT when the game went down.
Technically, there is not anything in the ToS that says this is wrong; we didn't packet edit or hack, I knowI didn't bot (I pressed UP for sooo long, though), and we didn't use 3rd party programs.
Incidentally, on the User Abuse Policy, botting is defined as:
Using a macro, third-party program, or physical method to play the game in a repetitive manner.
Sound like grinding, anyone?

Also, how far back will the RB (if they RB, they've been VERY reluctant to RB lately (chaos scrolls, anyone?)) last?
And, to my knowledge, it was 94080 exp every .6-.7 seconds, not .89 every second. At least that's what it looked like to me.
P.S.
How will they discern the people who intentionally abused it from the people who didn't know, and kept trying to get out? (that'll be my defense if they ban me)

im not sure how feasible this is, but heres an idea:
Find out who recieved EXP from the hob pq between now and last night's SC
manually reduce their level(not a rollback, items are not affected) to what they were when the game went down for the SC last night

People like you are EXACTLY why they should permanent ban. Why? Because it sends a message. If you get perma'd this time, will you do it again next time you have the opportunity to "power train" like this? What about your friends, who know you got perma'd. Would they think twice about exploiting then?

If Nexon throws the book at people, then it'll at least put doubt in people's mind for the next time there is an exploit and whether they should take part or not.

The ToS can say whatever it wants. No one's going to care if they don't actually uphold it. If they actually banned people for ksing, do you think the question of whether to ks or not will exist? You'll simply just know not to do it by the results.

Did he say they shouldn't ban them? I'm sure he thinks they should. But he focused on exploiters because that's what this topic is about.

I tried my best not to be involved or benefit in any glitch. I haven't exploit anything in my entire maple life and maybe it's because I'm extremely lucky or the fact that I'm in school when this pomegranate's happening.
