MapleStory thief revamp. What do you prefer?

Here are some more thoughts about what they could do for Hermits.

Shadow Web: Requires level 5 Shadow Partner. Gives the player's summoned shadow the ability to bind enemies whenever the player successfully dodges an attack. All bound enemies take 10% more damage when they are attacked, be it an attack done by the Hermit or another player. Oh and the binding effect will activate regardless of whether the player is attacking or not.

Dark Flare: Deals 400% damage to any monster that attacks the player or any member in the player's party. Dark Flare deals an extra 100% damage to any monster that fails to hit the player or and member of the player's party, the extra 100% damage is taken from the damage range of the player the monster missed and not the Hermit. Has a 1000% range of affect and has only a 200ms delay before it can attack again.

Turn into a guy that looks alot like the Dark lord. Mask and everything.. You would get 180% speed and FJ gets a boost. And more overall dmg.?
Cooldown ofcourse but, omg that would be so epic.

And call it..

The Ninja way ;D
(So cheesy but yeah)

EDIT: If we ever get an ultimate, i'd really like to have that massive star attack Hsalf does. (When he jumps into the air throwing 6 huge stars down on the ground)

F'UCK Ultimates! They're useless as hell. Oh yeah, I get to hit the whole map (or rather 15 monsters) every 30 seconds for big damage once. It also lags everyone, but is a nice, cool show-off skill.

I prefer your idea way better. Eagle Eye like a Wind Archer, but in Dark Lord form with increased speed, jump, damage. Maybe it can have some other bonus effect.

30 seconds wouldn't seem like a long cooldown if monsters took more than half a second to kill.

my suggestion

1st job
Lucky Seven merged with keen eyes
Haste
Dark Sight
Double Stab
Disorder - active buff - 50% chance of negating aggro

2nd job - assassin

Mastery
Booster
Critical
Drain (new animation - 2 hits )
Dark Sight Mastery (for 60 seconds you can attack in dark sight - cool down - 120 seconds )
Avenger

3rd job - Hermit
Shadow Partner
Advanced Star Application ( depending on the star you use different effects take place , steely's ignore 30% defence , Ilbis skill lock mobs on a 50% chance for 10 seconds and bosses on a 3% chance for 15 seconds , Crystal Ilbis inflict Slow and DoT , new Lv.130 stars always fire another star , Hwabis enable a weaker version of Final Attack )
Flash Jump
Alchemist
Advanced Haste (speed + 70, Jump + 50 , enables the party to descend abit slower by holding the jump button , passive upgrade to haste but it gets a new animation ) ( when you walk with adv haste leafs apear under your feet or something to make you look nimble )
Barrier ( consumes 100% mp, Summons a barrier that prevents mobs (including bosses) from moving past it ,the barrier has 3 platforms and lasts 30 seconds ,5 minute cooldown )
Ninjitsu ( name placeholder ) - rip off of shinobi - makes a flame barrier around your character, monsters within it take damage , walking leaves behind a blaze on the ground , pressing the button again makes the barrier bigger and do more damage but consumes your hp and disables other attacks , pressing it a third time will make the barrier bigger and explode , reducing your hp to 1. cool down - 4 minutes )

4th job - Night Lord
Dark Lords Clan - summon the 1st to 4th job thief instructors along side you to barrage the enemy with stars , each advancer fires a different star with different effects , 10 second single target ultimate , 5 minute cooldown )
Advanced Avenger - depending on the star you use avenger looks differently , avenger fires 2 stars , monsters hit by avenger cannot inflict touch damage on you ( doesnt work on bosses )
Set Ninjitsu 5 sp - allows you to place the flame barrier thus negating its negative effect on your character, expanding and destroying the barrier can still be done.
Triple Throw
Poison
Maple Warrior
Shadow Shifter
Wind Jump - passive - allows you to use two flash jumps , active - a high vertical jump , pressing this mid air will cause you to float/fly at that hight untill it is presses again , consumes 30 mp/sec if you stay in midair )

Well, here's an idea on an ultimate that can actually have some practical use (sort of) for Night Lords.

Star Fall: Player leaps high into the air and throws down a massive number of stars and then one large, red version of Dark Flare. Hits 15 monsters 5 times for 150% damage and then the final Dark Flare star sends out a shockwave that hits all the monsters for 1000% damage. The red Dark Flare stays for 30 seconds and deals 400% damage to any monster that attacks the player, and all the stars thrown by the ultimate stay lodged in the ground for 30 seconds. Any monster that walks on the lodged stars takes 50% damage for every star it touches, the star that was touched subsequently breaks and disappears. The red Dark Flare can be used along with the blue one.

Why have an ultimate? Why not just do what the cannoneer does and have an AoE type spell that basically looks and does what hsalf does? Nerfed damage for size and range. Call it "Falling Stars" and make it use like 3-4 stars per cast.

Only problem you would have with the different stars have different effects thing would be the fact that not everyone can get the stars you listed (those being the highest attack ones and the ridiculously hard to obtain ones) you could instead put the effects on the stars directly, but i feel like that would over power the 1st/2nd job tiers.

by third job everyone can get steelys they drop at such a high rate. besides I just didn't think of effects for all the other stars.

I know for sure that NLs shouldn't get an ultimate. Utterly useless. Oh god the time I spent arguing with people over at Spadow's blog and Basil who wanted us Archers to get an ultimate during Jump. Very glad we didn't get one.

The thing is, Nexon has done some rather unexpected things with the Jump classes, especially with the Archer's Phoenix/Frostprey and Spirit Link. I don't think anyone expected anything like that.

(I have a theory that the only reason why Thieves and Pirates were not included in Jump is because NLs and Shads along with Buccs and Corsairs have differences that are already well defined.)

Right now, I'm thinking that the key to making NLs and Shadowers stronger (along with NLs needing more help in the uniqueness department - they're practically the weakest of the ranged classes along with having the least amount of attacking options now) lies in revamping the way that Shadow Partner works. How? The changes I'm thinking of are basically Spirit Link (passive bonuses as long as the Shadow Partner is summoned) and the Bucc/Albatross transformation (attacks that can only be used with Shadow Partner active) on crack. But who knows what Nexon will do...

I wonder how a 'Flash Curtain' skill would work out. An attacking Flash Jump, like how Teleport Mastery works for mages, but it would only work on enemies between the original jumping point and the end point.

I have one problem with assulter and that is that it is going to get you hit on the larger foes, Like all of the monsters that are 110+, they could solve this by making it so your a little ways away from the back of the mobs hit box

Also shads need advanced dark sight or something preferably one thats better than dbs

And make Assaulter's animation at least "zig-zag" through the monster 3 times, so its 3 hits are somewhat plausible.

I've spent a lot of time for this =)

3throw replaces shadow meso, 4throw replaces 3throw
passive skill to increase parties min crit, max crit, crit rate (small amount)
Shadow mastery - Increase shadow partner damage, buff time, remove summon rock, absorbs damage and makes it a black DB mirror image (like TS said)
dark sight buff- increased att, and allows you to attack for some time without cancelling, small passive dodge to party
Double flash jump? use FJ even on a descent after using fj

Night lord:
"nighttime": Makes the map turn to nighttime (like evans dark fog). While nighttime, dmg taken -50% for all party members, +100% dmg for nightlords and shadowers. Smile

Shadowers:
"inversion": Inverses light to be shadow. Same effect as nighttime. :I

At max 1 min duration, 3 min CD.
3 NL/shad = constant dmg x2 though lulz

The map getting dark skill is something I would never have come up with.
I love the idea of the map getting darker and that party members or just the person who's casting it gets a buff.

EDIT: What about some charge up skill? Any ideas of what this could be linked to?

Maybe charge up to create shadow clones of yourself, attacking around for some time. The more charged without getting damage (Releases automatically if damage is taken), the more clones appear... Get that avoid boosted, mister! Or tell a friendly shadower to help you with smokebomb.

Ninja Storm/Ambush being rush-like would be nice.

Maybe some charge up skill where you throw one massive star with huge force. Hitting monsters + pushing them back?
(Bigger then avenger ofcourse) or maybe use the dark lords star (Dark Flare) in some way?

Oh wow... I just thought about a Shuriken cape. Like the ones in naruto where they sometimes carry around a massive star on they're back. I would totally buy that D:
