3: the item disassemblers were only used to start off with, due to the popular demand. now I barely see any fishtanks anywhere.
4: that's what I do.
5: the rate of profit is too low too; I've tried this. ended up spending more than I made.
1) Has it occurred to you that Nexon doesn't cater to foreigners? It's still a way to make money. I don't know what time you are allowed to PvP in your timezone, but it's still a way to make money and i don't believe you have the right to complain about it when you (apparently) aren't in their service area. :/
2) I was implying you find the recipes, which is in fact free as long as you don't consider time to be some kind of currency. 20m profit is still profit, but are you talking about clean or 3 lined? Because that certainly improves profit margin.
3) Wasn't expecting it to be great money but it does confirm that monster crystals won't be such a big deal as the profession system grows older in GMS. People would put up disassemblers if monster crystals were rare/not cheap. Thanks for that!
4) As if hunting manually had higher profit margin. >_>

Takebacker Wrote:3) Profession system allows specific equipment to be forged. Hunting has been long since unnecessary in KMS. Maker will currently forge any equipment you could possibly want right now with higher stats at a cheap price.
I plan to go alch and hunt then disassemble for profit (among other things). I'm pretty convinced it's going to have better profit margins then making things due both the low capital requirement and fatigue efficiency. I'm not exactly some uninformed lolbasiler who doesn't understand the simple workings of this simple game without spending hours on it firsthand. It's my understanding you haven't done much yourself with the profession system. Is that a misconception on my part? After all you seem suprised in a different post about a pretty predictable market shift that i was already aware of. The "playng kms makes you informed" mentality is a rather poor one. Especially on an site built around extraction.
Takebacker Wrote:4) It isn't "guarunteed". There are systems KMS has that weren't implemented here. Unless you have proof of this. Otherwise you're just speculating...isn't that what you argued against doing in the warrior changes thread?
This difference is this is official and already released content, not spadow's speculation. It's virtually guaranteed that what kms gets gms will get eventually. You even show the same mindset in the very same post i am quoting. (see your point 1)

Why not just bringing back that old "question" system? You know, a window would pop up on your screen with a random question, and if you didn't answer it in time you would get disconnected. I know many people would complain that it gets in their way when training, but maybe adding a 5 seconds alarm telling you it is coming would help. Just a thought.
On topic: I'm pretty sure there are better ways to fight against botting than preventing people from hunting monsters lower than their lvl. Maple isn't just about grinding, sometimes you wanna hunt stuff, sometimes you wanna explore, sometimes you just wanna be alone when traning. This just in a way limits what you can do.

I've played MMOs with the question system, but rather than stopping everything they just made a window appear to the side and the player had a minute or so to respond, and then the player got a rather large amount of exp when he/she answered correctly. I think that's the correct way to fight botters, like you said.

I agree with byakugan, there are times that i enjoy going to monsters with a level lower than my own if i suddenly want to, people should not have stiff restrictions like KMS put in, that only kills the fun many players could have had, as well as providing for any new characters a person makes much harder to do.

You mean the lie detector?
Either way, KMS hacks have gotten so advanced that if you get DC'd or sent back to town via lie detector, the hack will find out you're in the wrong map and move you back to the map where you were botting.

Last nail in the coffin of Monster book there. Enough reason for me to hate it.

Since Secret mastery books, the reason to stay in lower than your level areas as become moot if you ask me. Only reason would be scrolls or what not.

If this change doesn't affect you now then it doesn't affect you. This point (#1) operates under the assumption that we will get this system altered or not.

That's cool and all but then you won't have the chance to take advantage of the other systems while doing so is profitable. (dark angelic rings, other equips) Personally, i'm doing jeweler until i get the equipment i want, and then switching to alchemy for the reasons you stated. +thousand HP pots at my disposal will help a lot.
Not being an uninformed player doesn't mean i don't have to explain s'hit for you so you understand what i'm trying to say.
And are you really claiming that you can be just as informed when not playing KMS? Everything you know about KMS is from the people who do play it. >_> Playing KMS doesn't make you automatically infallible when talking to those who don't play though.
octopusprime Wrote:This difference is this is official and already released content, not spadow's speculation. It's virtually guaranteed that what kms gets gms will get eventually. You even show the same mindset in the very same post i am quoting. (see your point 1)
I don't see how spadow has anything to do with this. And no, it isn't virtually guaranteed. Was it virtually guaranteed that DBs would be a limited class in GMS? What about evan NX books? Cash trade system? GMS doesn't have a botting problem that can be solved through this system. KMS players to my understanding bot for more than just getting to a high level. The average GMS hacker aims around getting to a high level very fast and then killing bosses for profit, which are around their level and aren't affected by the limit system.
This point (#1) operates under the assumption that we will get this system altered or not. Point 4 reminds that there is still a chance of that not happening.

1) Good for you! You can use the money you get at work for NX. Certainly beats using in game means for meso.
2) Both time and money are relative. Notice i said "as long as you don't consider time to be some kind of currency". Time is something meant to be wasted. We've already discussed your ability to PvP anyway.
3) How can you not tell that this point needed no response in this post? Fish tanks were raking in much more money when it was first released i am sure. It will be the same in GMS.
4) So...don't spend money. I'm really not seeing what's so difficult here. Enlighten me, Mr.IplayKMS.

Thanks for coming into the thread late and not seeing that i've already been corrected, as usual. >_>

-make game easier to play-
-add new headaches later-
sooo, basically, all botters have to do is kill their chars regularly if they want to drop farm a certain area.
Thats nice.

Lol yeah, I didnt think of this. If bots can be programmed to even relog you or take you back to the map you were botting at (as said by kremechoko) then configuring it to kill you every time you get 10% shouldn't be much harder.

is the botting problem in kMS that bad? I've been seeing quite a lot of autoCCing hackers in gMS lately (especially in maps few people go to such as Homunculus, aqua road) but they never seem to pick up their drops (I've seen lots of equips on the ground after going into a channel and scaring away an autoCCer)

In other games, there are cumbersome levels where the more weight you put on, the slower you attack and move. If botters pick up everything in sight, they should exceed that threshold really easily which would make them attack at 0x.

From what I know, they can set whatever they're using to loot to ignore certain item IDs. =\

Configure it to lock the account for 24hours if the (very simple) question is answered wrongly 3 times or not answered?
A question like, "1 + 1 = ?". In a picture, so the hacking program can't just read it and solve it.

I'm pretty sure KMS has those already, I got one in a minidungeon, pissed my pants, and logged off.

Where did you get the impression that an advanced hacking program couldn't read 1+1=? from a picture and solve it?
