I'd log on MS and start bishing with Taetsu about how they got elected. And then I would start searching for some nice, out-of-the-country colleges to go to after a year and a half.

Phase 1: Assassinate John McCain, this results in Sarah Palin being the president and Nacy Pelosi being the VP.
Phase 2: Build nuclear bomb shelter and hoard supplies for up to 10 years
Phase 3: wait till those two blow up the earth
????????????

Quantact Wrote:The Founders actually detested the Federal government, and they felt that the state governments should have more impact. I'm sure I don't need to be telling you this, but not all of them. In fact, the first president to be elected of a political party was John Addams (the 2nd president, after serving as Washington's VP) of the Federalist Party. There were those in those days who favored a powerful federal government and there were those back then who wanted more power to the states. Even today, the conflict is supposedly represented through the Republicans and Democrats, but truth-be-told, it's quite apparent that even the Republicans are in favor of a powerful Federal government now.
Quantact Wrote:I still don't understand what all the fuss is about. You voting does something about the situation, so go vote. You trying to convince the other party's members will no do something about the situation because their minds are made up. All my years observing politics taught me that it's better to maintain a safe distance from political discussion and issues. I think you're missing the point that it's fun to argue ;D

Notice also that Bush willingly invokes the concept of the unitary executive theory which, in his interpretation, says that nothing he does as commander-in-chief can be against the law because that would be "unconstitutional" 8)

Actually, Nixon resigned before he could be impeached over all the pumpernickel that he did. Then Ford pardoned him. Lol.

Good luck in 09 D: I have to tend to agree with you. It doesnt really matter who is elected at this point. The market will slowly recover, the war will slowly come to a close. Measures to bring back troops have already been taken and its already happening. So pretty much whoever gets in, the market will just happen to be bettter, and most of the troops will be coming back anyway, but they will be credited with the results.
As for the bad aspects, its like Bush's first term. He is just starting to get comfortable in the White House and BOOM, 9/11 happens. No other president has had to deal with a tradegy like this (well no one since Roosevelt). Could he have done better? Yes...yes he could have.
Im straing to digress, but whoever gets elected isnt going to have a fun time in the first year or two

I'd hope that they dont screw up the economy any more before i graduate with my bachelors and can move to europe. Cuz if they get elected, after McCain made the huge screw-up in choosing palin as VP, ive lost so much faith in this country.
And im not saying McCain would be a horrible choice, its just, besides the fact that he is old(even though if he had serious health problems they would be widely reported) and could die and leave palin as president, i dont agree with many of his policies. I still dont fully like his personality. I heard that, in his book, he mentions that he "sometimes makes impulse decisions that come bac kto bite him in the ass" and that when he was in the war, before he got captured as a POW, he was always trying to prove how much of a tough guy he was, picking fights with fellow soldier(good natured, but still fights). I mean, impulse decisions + trying to prove your tough + Bush Doctrine(If the President feels that another country might invade the US, he can preemptively strike them, without proof or permission from congress) = Random wars.

If MCCAIN WAS ELECTED.....
I would wait for him to die, when Palin becomes president I will probably look for a hired assassin to eliminate her.

Seriously though, if they were elected, the first thing I would do is apply for Canadian citizenship. 8 years of incompetence is enough, I don't see McCain changing that either. He's not going to "clean up War'shington".
