Higher attack is warranted considering you aren't facing 5+ attacks at once anymore.
Pot cooldown was mentioned in the quoted post, so i obviously didn't forget about it.
Cancel item buffs and map exiting isn't new nor is it that much of a threat. I wasn't even talking about the cygnus queens attacks, just the instructors, so...dunno why you bring it up.
On top of dealing with the instructor? Like i said before it's not like you're going to be taking both the queens attacks and the instructors attacks at the same time. She goes into a shell when she summons them and doesn't do anything except not take direct damage.

One thing I wanted to add about Legends.
It seems like both Aran and Evan sorta hail from Rien. Afrien was found on a Rien like island and the penguins do talk about how parts of Rien's island is melting and floating away so its possible all legends will hail from Rien.

Alilatias Wrote:IIRC, didn't Spadow mention that there was a Q/A done in Korea for Big Bang, mentioning that the KMS team would like to release the three remaining Legends by the end of 2011? Logically, they'd space them out so that we'd see the next legend immediately after PvP (one year after Dual Blade's release?), another during the Summer, and the last during the Winter.
As for where the remaining Legends might start out... So far, the current Legends have been closely tied to Victoria Island. I would hope that this changes with the remaining three Legends, like how the Resistance expanded the world by introducing the new continent of Edelstein. I'm thinking the Archer legend is going to use a bow (due to WHs using crossbows), Thief using a claw (due to DB's using Daggers), and Pirate using knuckles (due to Mechanic using Guns). As for my guesses as to what the future Legends might be involved in:
- Before Big Bang, I would have guessed that the Archer Legend would have started out in Ariant. Now that Ariant has been pushed up to a Level 75+ area, I'm not too sure. I do think that Ariant and Elin Forest are regions that are in desperate need of expansion. So many unanswered questions and so much potential for future content. (The queen of Ariant has to be involved with the Black Wings somehow...)
- I'm thinking that one of the legends could very well come from the future and was thrown into the present, the exact opposite of Aran. Could involve a Ludibrium Time Gate expansion (and it'd be a good excuse to have a boat that goes straight from Vic to Ludibrium).
- The Pirate legend is already confirmed to be Kyrin's father, right? Or perhaps one of his descendants. I would think he'd have gone to Edelstein to fight the Black Wings there, and Edelstein would probably get an expansion out of that. (Was it ever mentioned that Kyrin had a mother? I'm thinking Athena Pierce, but it sounded more like she adopted Kyrin after her father disappeared.)
I'd say it's fair game for the Hero/Legend Thief. Sure, DBs use Dagger... but NWs use Claws. It's 2-2 for Dagger & Claw.
While we're at class-related predictions, the resistance lacks a Warrior and Thief based job.

Well, of course. Where the five Legends fought the Black Magician and had that ice curse thrown at them is present day Rien (which may or may not have floated up to Victoria Island). All of the legends should have ties to something in Rien, but Evan's story has shown us that the future Legends don't have to start there. Aran waking up on Rien is obvious since he was a direct participant in the fight against the Black Magician. But Freed took Afrien's egg to Victoria Island (only for it to be found by Evan and hatch into Mir several hundred years later), didn't he?
(I wonder if there are any clues as to what happened to the other three Legends. I mean, it's speculated that the Pirate Legend was Kyrin's father, and I just remembered that there's this legendary Albatross/Eagle Eye figure in the Wind Archer skillset that may or may not matter, but it seems we're running completely blind on the Thief. Then again, there were no in-game hints that Aran and Evan/Mir would exist before their release, huh?)

Honestly, I didn't count the Cygnus classes in that calculation. After all, the Cygnus skill set is about 70% identical to their Adventurer counterparts, while the Dual Blade/Wild Hunter/Mechanic skill set is completely different and are more recent, to boot.
Plus, I'm still wondering if Nexon Korea really did have all five Legends planned out from Aran's release. Remember that picture? Before Resistance came out, I don't think anyone thought that the Archer legend would use a bow instead of crossbow like the picture had depicted her using. Not to mention the Pirate seemingly using fists instead of guns. Now that Wild Hunters and Mechanics exist, it's looking likely.
Then again, if that picture actually does have any merit to it, then it seems the Thief legend would be using a dagger/one-handed sword + shield combination, or she would use something completely different.

I doubt that picture was planned out because the mage was shown without Afrien so I don't believe the picture is 100% accurate cept maybe for a few things. If they really wanted too they could take things from history or other games. Samurai Warriors is an EXCELLENT comparison for weapon ideas.I'll show a few.

Well of course silly. Guns seem to be semi-recent findings and technologies (with Mechanic coming out later than the rest, it supports this assumption). So knuckled pirates seem viable for the legendary class. EDIt: Barehands mastery seems kinda fun actually. Don't need weapons, just special types of "gloves"
I don't think the picture had much merit to it. The picture implies 2 warrior type legends, leaving the thieves out of it. Of course it could be some sort of long sword/ shield dagger combination.
As for the archer legend. It'll probably be a bow user. I'm hoping it'll be different by adding a little something extra (like melee sword-bow combination, utilizing some sort of swords that can combine to make a bow).
All in all, i just want the legend classes to bring a little something new to the game, like what aran Did (and evan to an extenet with the multiple job level thing and the floating dragon next to your head).

I hiiiiiiiighly doubt they planned all the jobs before releasing the picture. Mir isn't even in the picture.

Obviosuly they'll put a new theme on the Login screen.
It will be an epic theme, almost at the level of...

..but not quite that awesome.
But in all seriousness, we'll get whatever comes next in KMS, of course. We'll do what we've done for years now; We'll look at KMS's new content and wait a few months for its release in GMS or what have you.

I knew people were going to bring up Afrien (not Mir since he didn't exist then). That's a big point against the picture, but I'll go out on a crackpot limb and say that Afrien wasn't included in the picture with Freed because 1) where could they have stuck him in the picture without looking out of place (Afrien is freaking huge) and 2) seeing Afrien there would have already completely spoiled Evan's concept half a year in advance.
But yeah, I agree with you. I personally want to see the Archer legend utilize a DEX/INT spread with a focus on being a support class rather than a pure DPS machine like all other Archers have been thus far. Hell, my original idea was that the Archer Legend would be capable of mounted combat on a horse, as seen in the statues outside of Athena's house, and was the master of lightning and wind... Which Wild Hunters promptly took, turning the horse into a jaguar and ditching the elements.
I made up a new idea immediately after Wild Hunters were revealed, and you can see that in my only blog post on this site. Note that it was published a few days before we knew about Big Bang, funny how that works. Admittedly, my new idea sucks, as it's a bit too much like Evan. Your bladed bow concept sounds really neat, although I honestly only see something like that playing like a Wild Hunter, just without the mount. (Then again, the vast majority of melee classes play the same, just with slight differences in mobility and invincibility frames.)
I had thought the DEX/INT spread to be possible until Nexon Korea decided to add a STR requirement for Level 130/140 Archer gear.
Maybe we can look to the Thief legend for something new, but again, that's IF the picture still has any merit to it. Perhaps a class that uses both the weapon attack of her dagger AND has some shield bashing techniques that factors defense into the damage formula as well?

If the archer legend were to use a DEX/INT spread, they'd have to rework all the archer equipment =\
Just like people thinking that Battle Magi use STR/INT then asking why they do such crap damage by Lv30.

I had thought that a DEX/INT spread was possible for archers because Nexon Korea could design a new type of weapon for the Archer Legend. Armor wouldn't have been an issue since archer armor was essentially statless due to the lack of a STR requirement (in comparison to all mage armor requiring LUK), and they could rework, say, all Blue archer armor to add INT instead of STR... Well, until the Level 130/140 gear was revealed, at least. Then there's also the problem of Level 110 and 120 gear not having multiple recolored versions.

How about introducing a new weapon type, like essence? They could have the Archer Legend have its own in-built Spirit Bow or something, and have multiple essences be slotted into it. The essence would be the upgradeable portion of the weapon. It could be neutral or elemental, and different combinations could yield interesting results like Elemental Composition's half-element effect.
The Spirit Bow could have like, 3 essence slots. It could work like this: 1st Job - 1 slot; 2nd Job - 2 slots; 3rd Job - 3 slots; 4th Job - A passive skill gives the Spirit Bow additional firepower, no extra slots. The essences could have varying effects (only 1 per essence), like...
Neutral
Fire Element
Ice Element
Lightning Element
HP Drain
Slow (low %
Blind (low %)
Heals Party Members arrow passes (INT-based)
Of course, Armour will have to be reworked...perhaps Archer equips could be coded to require DEX, and STR or INT but not both?

Personally I think this will happen.
After they bring out the heros that are remaining, there will be another person behind him.
Think about this, what made the person become the Black Mage or who?
After that story is done it is just simple repeat the story.
Add more classes, more revamps, more jobs, more bosses, more items.

I guess the next big update would have another cool name, like Genesis maybe (I like the "life" idea) where another hero could be born again (reïncarnation! ).
Meanwhile, the Black Magician has once again covered the world into more darkness, or just a certain area, making the mob levels there jump 50 levels. Luckely, 5 heroes returned from the future to help the mapleworld with future technology and strategy to beat the mobs (5th job instructors ).

I would want the archer legend to use one or multiple boomeraangs as a weapon with mutliple movement skills involved with wind. Then the thief legend would use the classic dagger/claw combination and the pirate legend would go for dual guns since I love guns .

or make a static bow for the archer legend. it upgrades itself at every 10 levels. idk how'd that work with potentials. and make skills limited to the bows level like a 2nd job skill that would require a level 50 bow to use.
so techincally the bow controls the job advancing. wow what a bad idea.
EDIT:
ok i got it, if you boom it with dark scrolls or potential scrolls, you can forge another at a certain place where only the archer legend can enter. that way you can scroll it without worrying of losing it.

I always had this idea for 5th job..... if they were to increase the lvl cap to say 300 it would work. Alright so when you lvl up to lvl 200 you go back to your 1st job instructor. You ask them to teach you new skills but they say that you have learned all they know. So you go to your 2nd job instructor(that one person who made you get the dark marbles) and you ask them to teach you new skills. Nope you are just to dang smart and you know everything they know. Whats next? Yup you guessed it time for your 3rd job instructor. Its the same as the first to!. So finally you go to your 4th job instructor who tells you you are too smart BUT they heard that people have been disappearing new the old ruins near perion. So you travel out to perion and got to the old ruins and you discover a magic portal in a hidden shrine. You enter the portal and you back in sherain(or w/e those ruins are called) before the disaster that destroyed it. There you meet the sharflababadingdong king who sees great potential in you(So he uses a scroll on you and then swings you around like a sword LOL), he makes you a royal knight and tells you to go meet his head royal knight of your job type and he will teach powerful new skills. Thats a great wall of text right there.
