A Drk or a Hero Post-BB?
#41
Give a hero a shield with like 26 att and 20% str, and say it'll boost their range by 10%, and you have a equal damaging drk and hero. But remember drk gets docked by damage cap. Other factors to consider.

- 1h hero is generally faster than a drk, without SI.
- hero has powerguard, drk has elemental resistance and hyperbody
- hero needs to turn off enrage to mob, drks don't, just fury the heck out of the mobs
- in a party with sharp eyes and/or thorns, the benefits drks receive are more than compared to heroes

I think damage cap is a huge determining factor, it's like being a paladin all over again. But if you're a casual player who don't have like 100% str equip, you need not to worry. Comparing to a similar geared 2h hero, a drk will be more powerful, and versatile too I think since fury is nuts. Now if you take into accounts of combat order and all skills hats, it'll be pretty hard to do exact comparisons but I think it'll benefit both equally, or negligible in this case.

I don't know how much my judgement can be trusted, but this is what I came up with:

Hero: From 200%(ACA) * 210%(BS) * 160%(Enrage) = 672% to 200%*214%*164% = 701.92%, a 4.45% damage increase
Drk: From 160%(Dark Force) to 162%, 1.25% damage increase.

Well no not a casual player, around 120% str total, then you're saying I'm better off with a 1h hero+shield for best DPM?
And BTW: Does 135att VIP 1h sword +18att shield beat Night Raven's Wing 150att?

One handed + Shield will always beat Two handed, you have double the potential stats, which is virtually impossible to compensate for in any way.

That said, I'm assuming the two swords aren't about 50 atk different or something that ridiculous.

That and +200% weapon defense.

Got one last question,
I didn't see many Buccaneer vids from after BB patch, how are they in the DPM chart? higher than both heroes and drks?
