I would like to see a bit more in-depth of some of the tools they use and schedules, but a good start.

Think they have ISO 9000 certification Rolleyes ?

I was hoping for maybe a FDA level GMP (good manufacturing practice) certification with all the necessary CFR (code of federal regulations) support documents as well but then again I'm just overly thorough like that... still... would that be ISO 9000:2000 or ISO 9000:2001? ;-) (j/k)

The VIP Crossbow is proof of that.

Osht I hope Nexon Japan fixes it...hahawhoamikidding.jpg

SaptaZapta Wrote:Also, and while they avoid discussing hacks for reasons of security, they should have someone knowledgeable (i.e., a programmer, not a "gm") keeping close watch on hacking forums. The time it takes them to realize a hack is around, to figure out how it works, and to block it, suggests they don't do that, either.

They should hire undercover programmers to mingle with the hackers and figure out how they work, from the inside. Hell throw out misleading info to buy time fixing the holes...hahawhoamikidding.jpg

not needed, 99% of hacks script are public, and for the other 1%, they just need to crack the themida protection encryptionRolleyes

Given the the tickets topic, do you really think it's smart to post this? Do you want to get banned or not get help with your issue ? I'm sure you understand that you violate the same trust again by posting it? Confusing.

i dont think you should have post this. People here at sp will just say this a rare case. their is probably others who have receive help and not saying on the count of what nexon told them. All and all the nexon bashing wont end, i really dont have a problem with maple i dc sometimes but i'm already bored out of my mind sitting in the fm so it doesn't matter. Also i make an attempt to train then get bored. With all the free owls browsing the fm is doable in a few minutes. I boss when i feel like it solo zak when i feel bored etc after that is all done nothing to do on maple anymore. The pq is done after 3 tries and my patience to do the lvl 30 one over and over is small.

People rage as if what they are doing on maple is important as a final paper for school, then finding out you cant print.

What's make me log on maple from time to time is the friends i made, if it was by nexon, i would have quit this game when they recovered my character.

One thing Nexon should be doing, which they probably aren't, is form a dedicated team who play on Tespia 365/24/7 reviewing quests, characters, and have full access to editors to change levels, attributes, skills, etc. A fully editable character would be beneficial to testing PQs, quests, etc.

Problem: Where to acquire these people. Would these people be official hired personnel, special selected players, or an independant testing lab?

Solution: (recommended) Hire personnel. Paid employees with some offer of bonus per bug found, documented, and analyzed would be helpful and motivational. Would speed up the process of finding and eliminating bugs as there would be some competition to find these bugs, plus with a fully editable character, there's no limit on where or how much can be tested. At best they would need 6~12 people, maybe 30 at most from a volunteer team.

Pendal you bring up a valid point. Where is the level of quality when it comes to testing? Certain practices often require some level of quality assessment and trained or certified personnel in some form or fashion are needed for this.

As far as Nomad's post... actually that was needed to be shown. If it shows Nexon is keeping tabs on their fan-based forums then it shows something is going on Nexon we've all wanted to know. Does Nexon actually care about it's own community? Are they listening? However it does show a weakness in Nexon and maybe if they are even reading this, it might help them see they need to improve. The unwillingness to participate in the BBB shows they aren't customer oriented. Maybe Nexon should consider help from the BBB every once in a while as it might help pull their grade of evaluation up and make them a more customer friendly entity. As for Tiara... she does have a valid point about the privacy policy. Screenshots of webpages really aren't needed. Quotes and retypes are probably better. Remember she is a Network Administrator so not only do they have to worry about security, but also policy of usage enforcement and other factors.

Nexon can't actually ban you for something you say offsite that isn't a direct attack of character. If they did a lot more people than currently banned would be banned. Any company with an offsite monitor team watch for feedback and criticism, both negative and positive. What they do with that is their business.

To people Maple is enjoyable, fun, and something to pass the time. People of all types play this game. Husbands and wives play, singles, teens, siblings, and some kids. Even if it's an MMORPG, it's more still a social network no different than FaceBook, Twitter, MySpace, Profil3, and various others. There are dozens of reasons to play. Pick one. Someone fits in that choice in some way, shape, or form.

Even if it is highly unlikely to happen, Nexon can ban you for what ever reason they see fit. You have no rights at all when it comes to that.

@Jamie: That's their QA team.

You really have no idea how the NEXON team works do you? It's not humanly possible to make a program 100% bug/glitch free its COMPLETELY HUMANLY impossible.

1) except for those of us who have coded on bigger games, and those who have worked in the QA industry....

2) code that is completely different from the base? This is not C# to Perl.

3) this game is not massive. It is merely a few GB in size.

Six Sigma would disagree with you.
Even basic DMAIC process control would eliminate more than they do.

I get the feeling one of Nexon's teams uses at least one configured and then automatized bug finding tool. Manually finding 400+ bugs on each new load of content seems like such a painstaking process. I also get the feeling NexonAm chooses to get the least optimized versions. NexonKR couldn't possibly give out content that is unplayable from the get-go on a debug unit. How could it have gone past their own QA teams then? I would love to know more about that 'process'.

It'd take as long to program in the necessary unit testing test case scenarios for an automated tool as it would to just do them, possibly longer.
