First gMS HT Solo?
#41
Actually, it makes things worse for classes limited by the damage cap, especially in gMS with apples. Paladins were already limited by the damage cap before potential when criticalling, and now with potential doubling to tripling damage, it gets even worse. Very strong heroes, arans, and shadowers are also limited by the damage cap. Snipe is now useless, and in terms of magic classes, both the 1999 magic cap and the damage cap are quite limiting =/

Thankfully the 1999 magic cap disappears post-Big Bang with everyone on the same open variable damage formula. Still, with videos of godly KMS Lv. 200 I/Ls hitting max damage crits with CL on Lightning-weak Oblivion mobs, with no Apples or Elemental weapons, the damage cap remains a limiting barrier for many.

**Also, WT'F at almost 20k HP. Nevermind I found out how he somewhat handled Seduce, but again HOW did he get 20k HP without Hyperbody?

Cami [camilox] which i'm sure you know soloed it already before him. All he did was leave arms last and max out summons so when he got sed, he either got fake'd [easier to miss/fake summons than HT attacks] or took little damage. Even as main said, that strategy still works since the spawns will come out and you won't die. If i'm not mistaken, he only used 1 wheel.

It would have been his 2nd solo, but his first attempt he ran out of stars at 5% health >_>

Two Hours wtp. If I organized a Squad I couldn't even handle HT in two hours.

*runs outside and gets hit by a car*

And lol at the beginning I was like "lolyishenotshowing sed," then I saw him tanking wheels and F4 "oh."

It's not potential that ruined maple, it's the cubing. Simple potential (potentialing an item, or finding one with potential on it) would have been great. It would have been very Diablo-esque and people would be constantly hunting gear, looking for just the right stats. By adding cubes, people get incredibly greedy and lazy and just throw money at the game (as usual) to become far more powerful than maplers who dont throw money at the game. From a business standpoint, it was an awesome decision. From a power balance standpoint, it just separated the hi's from the low's by a LOT.

As for a legit 8 star weapon, i dont think so. Soon enough, all these enhanced weapons and their makers will be punted out of the game, so that'll be worthwhile to see.

Does this mean both arms cast Seduce at 100% HP? o.o

Huh, I'll be damned if it's not the best idea. I always thought Arms were the last parts to die due to the mass sed and since the heads do some crazy stuff when you're at the bottom, didn't expect it

Indeed, I'll be able to hit the damage cap at level 154 entirely on my own buffs + apples (non-crit 199,999). That's with 18% str and a weapon whose only useful potential bonus is +6 w.atk. If I had 21% str on half a dozen equips, or 30% bossing for that matter, I could easily tap the cap on a significant fraction of attacks.

I can actually hit the damage cap right now, but only with a 140 atk pot. I don't have maxed Blast yet, you see.

There are Heroes in my guild who are doing over 200k per Brandish. Which is not something I can keep up with, even if I had the gear.

Don't forget Blast gets changed to 3 hits in BB and Heroes get a 3 hit Brave Slash so both classes will essentially be equally able to hit the same damage. That 200k at 154 will most likely be about 100-120k per hit instead of hitting the cap so soon. You'll be able to catch up to Heroes post BB once you switch out to a sword as well.

Actually I don't remember, he mighta killed them after wings and did mid head last.

And did fleyx actually go and solo it again? I don't remember. I do know it was an lol-ht run and he ended up soloing everything post tail or legs, but did he go back and do a true solo later?

I'm mostly responding to the guy who said potential armor balances the classes. I'll have to look into what damage my Blast will do. Just raising the cap to 1 million would be enough though, for now anyway.

I do know my post-BB apple range will be 14278-15189, if they don't change Apples, but no idea if dual charging works the same as currently. And there's the 25% bossing damage penalty to take into account, which reduces damage all around. If dual charging follows the same mechanism as currently, I'll do up to 96k non-crit pre-def, which reduces it to maybe 70k per hit on actual mobs. Over the current damage cap, anyway. And I don't know how much damage Blast's crits will do.
