An Archer's "Where to Train" guide
#41
This guide rocks! It's much better than those training guides that only tell you what monster to kill. >_>

How good are typons for 100+? I'm still in my testing phase... last i saw i got around 6-7% in 15 minutes to half an hour, not sure cause i wasn't timing...

At lvl 114, I'm getting around ~8%/hr at Typhons, so I'd say they're good. =) It helps if you're map sharing to keep up the spawn, but if not, it's not hard to lure monsters from the top or bottom. Having the Marker of Heroism is great here, especially if you tend to fall off frequently.

I got around 2% per 8 minutes provided I didnt fall off. It's better solo exp than Newties, but partying here is almost impossible. Level 105.

i'm 78, and i just came from Mixed Gollems. problem is, i seem to find myself with no one to party with, and Mixed Gollems are kind of boring now. would Pandas be a good alternative? Territory of Wandering Bear is small enough to solo, and i 1-2 hit kill them.

2 person parties work well... One on the bush, one near the cave on the left. Works even better if the bush one is a gen'ing bishop :-P

The guy on the cave is useful to have because entering/leaving the cave causes all the typhons stuck on the bottom to fly back up.

I should really be updating this to include Crimsonwood and Jump down but Ive just been busy so hang in there for now =X Hopefully after the first week of school next week, I'll be able to put it in.

In the meantime, it'd be nice if you guys could suggest new maps that have been made trainable because of the jump down function. I think I have the Crimsonwood portion pretty down pat.

Okay, so now some new questions.

I'm level 81 now. And after the most recent patch, Windraiders had their EXP jacked-up from 400 to 800. For those who can get there, past the strange bannings going on in Crimsonwood for certain people... should I consider them? There's the cave that Jack is in with only Stormbreakers and an even bigger spawn of Windraiders. I can 1-hit, mostly 2-hit, them, and Stormbreakers go down in about 4 hits. So would this place be good for my level, or should I just relocate myself back to Squids?

EDIT: And any other suggested spots for my level would be nice, too.

LOL i went to squids from 85+ (I was at zombies past 80 xD)

You seem to have extremely good equips sir. and I say train anywhere you can 1 hit- 2hit. I just think squids makes people more attentive for future fighting since archers are pretty much 1-2 hit kos from squids on up...

you could always go to pirates (if you went AR first, but i think you went strafe first so... ignore xD)

Squid parties are probably faster for you at that level tho

The new Golem Dungeon is pretty good.

I got about 40% in 1hr on 2x.

Ive been at HH for a while during 2x exp hour events/maps are crowded. its okay exp considering the pot usage is near 10 pots a HH.300k exp for about ~4 mins. Thats with crap range cause jackk im missing 47 dex >.<i dont know if you should put that in there, but ive gotten around 40% just doing that quest and hunting it over and over again. theyre kinda easy to find.if you get lucky, you can get around ~11% an hour at 124.similar to anego training or the such for lower leveled people that keep getting ksed by darkspikev3& eternity >.<

140+ can do mobile boss training (BF and anego) as a source of exp that rivals newt parties. i've gotten 7m exp per hour with a few NL's and a bishop there, and a good newt pt for me is ~6m exp per hour.

anego is... just anego. solo's yeild like 5% at 140, and solo training yeilds about the same rate per unit time.

pap training could go under money making or fun, really. pap has 3 good drops that are worth over 100m each, so...

If you have access to an hs mule and a second computer close by, anego is much better.. but not all do. And with anego training, if your really bent on training there, getting times down is necessary.
I agree with the pap.. I pap whenever possible, just for the extra 2%~ from two solos, and I can get two solos in within one apple's time.

If it hasn't been said yet, the WS pit is now more trainable for archers with AR/AE. Party up with someone to take the legs, and you can just spam in the pit as the spawn builds and builds.

considering ive done that 80-86, the extra safe spot is nice to have but it dosent really matter, you use 3-4 more pots per mob at the pit its not to have, but its already been done

I can confirm that the Royal Cactus map is better than teddies at 32 (can't say 3x). Unfortunately, I did not pay attention to how much % it was, but there you go.

(Srry if this is a necropost, but the guide itself asks if the cacti are better.)

Sorry to bump this, this is why:

SimplyBowmen of SW created this guide to Windraider training at Lower Ascent, and according to his guide (and some %/hr data), this map is better than Newties or Squids in late 7x-8x.

http://www.sleepywood.net/forum/showthre...indraiders

Note that though it is supposed to accomodate all bowmen, Simply admits that at certain points, Rangers do better (since IA doesn't bend).

Hunters gain an advantage over Crossbow men when they start training at the Lower Ascent, which is usually around 63-65. Even with the advantage of Arrow Bomb, Crossbow men can still make very good experience training there. (Power Knockback proves itself to be very useful).

I probably should be updating this but recently, school has me overwhelmed, along with the gigantic proportions of the last few updates.

Jump down makes many places that were poor training spots because of climbing perhaps plausible and then there's the Maesteria expansion and Singapore. It'll come in due time, hopefully around Christmas =X
