Edit:

Currently listening to this, didn't feel like making a new post just because I forgot to add 1 song to my last spoiler

Looking through a boatload of TAMUSIC's stuff, and just saw found out about 台湾LIVE~東方絢櫻祭4~, basically- a live album from him in Taiwan.

There's some really interesting versions of songs he does hear that you won't find in his other albums. Take for an example, this version of Reisen's theme.
 TAM

At least, I think that's from the live album only; minus the parts with audience applausing at the beginning and end. The video uploader definitely got the album information wrong, since I've heard Touhou Violin 4 before, and this wasn't how he played Lunatic Eyes in that.

Next up, here's Kamori. Her stuff is basically pretty simple guitar melodies with intricate Cantonese vocal melodies. I really like her voice, and I find this circle's stuff to be really nice and relaxing.
 かもり (Kamori)

Kishida Kyoudan & the Akeboshi Rockets are a pretty interesting group who's been getting some attention lately. They recently did Highschool of the Dead's opening, but they've had some really great stuff before that.
Their Touhou stuff that they've done in the past has been really eyecatching out of most of the albums in major events like Reitaisai or Comiket. I'll be posting stuff with their vocalist, Ichigo; for now. I'll delve into the non-vocal stuff later.

Has anyone heard TAM's QUALIA? I noticed it around and been ignoring it but boy was that a mistake. Very lovely mixes of rock, jpop, vocals, instrumentals and techno.

So how did you guys enjoy the C79 music?

Silver Forest is starting to sounding a bit too general in their Eternal Night Rondo album. But their prior album, Aria of the Red Moon was ridiculously good so they left the standards pretty high for themselves.

Here's a plot twist: Yuuhei Satellite features a ballad-ish song in their latest though they're still retaining their style of euro-beat.

Also, lol at them for sneaking in Flandre's theme at 3:20.

Demo of TAMAONSEN's album from C79. Vocal album, genres include J-pop and rap.

Out of the C79 Touhou arrangements, this one's been a favorite of mine. The second track on the album (first is just an intro; 2nd track is where the demo starts) features Ranko and rapbit, if that makes this album sound great to you.

How do you guys label your uhhh, Doujin artists and stuff? Like whenever I download an album, all of the artist names are all funky and all over the place, so I just get OCD and just change the contributing artists AND album artists to the same thing. For example, some of ALiCE'S EMOTiON stuff, some of the contributing artists would be REDALiCE, while others would have different names. How do you guys deal with that? Do you guys bother changing it at all? I personally do.

All of my ALiCE'S EMOTiON stuff are labelled as "ALiCE'S EMOTiON" for Contributing Artists and Album Artist. `-` Same goes for my other doujin artists, I'll label them in accordance with their group.

I don't like to. I prefer to leave the artist names in tact, while keeping album artist organized so that iTunes keep it together and it's easier to flip through when on horizontal view on my iPod and find what I want. I prefer keeping the artists in tact, because I have certain moods for certain vocalists, arrangers, and so forth out of a certain circle, and plus, I like recognizing the artists more specifically. I did go back and change a few tags, though- just for lastfm purposes, because it wasn't right how in my comparisons to yours and Ken's had a few common circles, like IOSYS or Silver Forest for an example, but the only reason is wasn't recognized as shared was because we have the artists tagged differently. I only did it to make the compatibility stuff more accurate than it shows, so to speak.

Smooth's way is the technically "proper" way to do it; the vocalists' name under the song and the circle's name in Album artist. But since I use last.fm, for the sake of simplicity, whatever the album was released under, that's the name of the artist for me. It's more convenient when shuffling through an artist on the iPod too. I'm pretty sure /jp/ leaves the vocalist as the artist tag too as that's how it is on the CDs.

Here's a good question for you guys: do you guys leave song names in kanji, romanji or the English translations?

---

I've heard Crest here and there but I never gave them a shot until today. Amazing vocalist. Unlike SOUND HOLIC, whose focus is more playing with vocals, Crest's vocals are much deeper and powerful.

I'm not a fan of male vocalists but even the male vocals are pretty good.

I leave it in whatever the heck it was originally supposed to be in; whether the title is English, hiragana, katakana, or kanji. If I download an album and I get messed up characters, I correct them with either VGMDB or the circle's sites' album information.

I leave it as the default, but what I'm starting to do if I can find an English translation is:

Name of song will either be as English translated version, or in Romaji -> Title will be default, whatever the default is.

So that way, I'll always have two ways to refer to a song. I haven't changed anything to fit ^ yet, but I'm going to start doing this. Got the idea from another friend.

I keep it as is. I'm too lazy to mess around with tags most of the time. But I do change song names back to Japanese if they're in romanji. If the song name is translated I typically don't care unless I know the song by its original name.

I'll post more songs in this thread eventually, when I actually check what songs were posted here so I don't post any doubles. But I have too much to listen to. A backlog of songs to try out that's just piling up.
