The Problems with Bigfoot
#41
What is this bigfoot you speak of O_o

Seriously, I was wandering around the forest for about 2 horus yesterday just randomly getting the badges, I didn't run into 1 HH or BF! Also, can only 1 spawn per ch, or can 1 spawn in every map?

8 spawn per chan
One on each of the 5 versions of twisted path 1 on each signpost area (i think) and one on that other map- I forgot the name-

Bigfoot is not a current problem BECAUSE it is not boss Status- It will be once it IS boss status.

Right now it's just a problem for the people looking for the toe since it's such a rare find at the moment.

Btw, the HHs spawn in the Crossroads, one in each signpost map (not the Bigfoot except in one), and Forgotten Path, where it also spawns with BF.

That is NOT the MAIN problem.
Yes it is a problem that higher levels will be forced to be extra cautious and do quests to avoid Bigfoot.
THE MAIN problem is- In less populated servers-when Bigfoot is fixed- no one will hunt him enough to make Phantom Forest quests accesible for many many Maplers.
Those Maplers include- anyone with less than what seems to be 11k HPGlitter
Which is ridiculous-
Sure some people might hunt a FEW- but there are 8 Bigfoots per chan.
-Also it will be a peach hunting HH-
The solution to this problem is obvious.

Give Bigfoot drops which have inherent value. Make it worth it for the players to hunt this guy.

IsaacGS Wrote:If they do fix his poison status, what will happen? He won't be hunted that often because he's too fast for archers and even NLs to deal with. Profit hunters won't bother since he drops nothing of value. Warriors can't really take touch damage until extremely high levels. The elemental attributes make it undesirable for mages...

Then make him drop something of value.

I think Nexon is supporting the idea that the TOE is valuable- Thus they will hunt.
But being untradable we quickly see the problem here-
..
But yes IF nexon changes Bigfoot's drops this problem will cure itself.
However- I doubt that will happen.
....
An side- What if Bigfoot does have other drops but set as non-boss we just have not killed enough- I think unlikely but still.

It's been what...3 days? 8 maps x 19 channels = 152 x 7or8 worlds, how ever many it is, x about 8 times it's been able to spawn, that's well in the thousands, so I'm sure SOMEBODY would've found a drop by now.

While this is true- Not everyone posts on forums.-
But ya you are probably right- I was doubting it anyway.

Still, someone would've heard about it somehow.

Apparently bigfoot drops BS 30. I think he has drops that are valuable but no one is getting anything because he isn't a boss. Do boss flags automatically raise the drop rates that high?

Yes, it is a big differance.

Being a boss doesn't automatically mean it has a high drop rate.

Both however is made by nexon, who are becoming more infamous for making their areas have extremely low drop rates. The place has only been out a week and the keep isn't even out yet though. There's a lot left to be seen.

One thing that aggravated me about bigfoot was that I could corner him in a map, constantly knocking him back, but because of the accuracy/damage formulas, missed him half the time while not doing quite enough damage to make firing stars at him for an extended period of time the least bit worthwhile. Ah well... another reason to level.

Well, before i wrote that i considered saying "low drop rate for critical items" but then i remembered those and wolf spiders. Has no one thought that baby typhons drops might be broken though...?
