people who logged ticket about chaos scroll ban

street Wrote:I have a question for everyone. When you saw smegas selling 100+ chaos for 10m each did you see them as hackers or merchants/legit?

You don't know how they got the scrolls what category your going to put them in? Are they the hackers that are exploting? can nexon sepreate who is who that easily?

Their was people that had 10 duped chaos left. Were they hackers that were trying to liquidate all the chaos before they get banned? Would you have been able to know who to ban looking at the situation in that perspective? Some accounts got under the radar nexon did a sloppy job picking out who is who. That person they left or banned that had 10 scrolls left could have been a hacker. That person could just be someone really rich. Who knows, nexon was not going to look at each account and do a detail investigation. Plus if they did that people would complain nexon is doing a lost cause to sith through legit from hackers. Cause that person they banned might have been really a hacker, then they will say they were wrongfully banned and back to square one.

@devilsunrise
if nexon had link accounts that was used to exploit people would still say they were wrongfully banned. Those hackers could be 'legit'

the 14 day log wouldnt help this situation. In that time period the chaos scrolls I have gained would already been sold. If nexon had ban people looking at how many dupe chaos scrolls the sold in that period it would have been far worst than the actions they took. So what if I Lose a couple of 100 scrolls leftover I sold over 300+ in Mts and game. When my temp ban is up I will have been 2b+ richer and got away without losing anything major. If they are able to keep their profit who would care about losing a few.

@flim what server are you in?

I wish I would have known that the scrolls were THAT bad I was logged on 30mins before that late server check that night for the first time in WEEKS, I had no idea of the situation, I figured some hacks may have figured something out but to an extent of 1-7m each, lol.

Tis had to happen SOME way but this way was not good at all! I mean nexon didn't even say a word about it, lol.

Coogi Wrote:So...you expect 0 people to even touch the chaos scrolls?

There is a difference between touching the scrolls and buying hundreds upon hundreds of them. There are those who genuinely made a mistake and those who are obviously just trying to exploit a glitch.

Coogi Wrote:If it wasn't for people actually buying the Chaos scrolls the glitch would STILL be going on and people would just be scrolling items like crazy in strad of no one not buying them,

Are you trying to say that people who bought the scrolls did the right thing? What exactly are you trying to justify? And what evidence do you have to support this claim of yours? I, for one, know that many people who found out how to perform the glitch sent tickets to Nexon explaining the situation. That probably had more influence than people buying the scrolls. Of course, just speculation. Besides, what with all the smegas and shops full of chaos scrolls, I'm sure Nexon would have figured it out themselves.

Coogi Wrote:your logic is pretty stupid...

Thanks, I'm glad I make you feel like a big man.

I think the people who bought hundreds of Chaos Scrolls should be perma banned.

Once a glitcher, always a glitcher. Nexon doesn't want to take any chances.

Coogi Wrote:( even thoguh buying items cheap I don't consider a "glitch" ).

Yeah, I know what you mean man. That 27 attack Brown Work glove I got for 10k was totally legit. No way it could have been glitched.

Coogi Wrote:Tis had to happen SOME way but this way was not good at all! I mean nexon didn't even say a word about it, lol.

Do you really need Nexon to say something about it? Isn't it obvious something went wrong when you see thousands of Chaos Scrolls floating around the FM? None of you guys thought it was dodgy? Really?

As I've said before, ignorance shouldn't be an excuse.

What of those people, then, that bought less than 5 for personal use? I have a 19x Marksman friend who bought 4 and she got banned. I'm not trying to justify buying the Chaos Scrolls, but don't you think this is somewhat of an extreme reaction?
#45
I don't get why people would buy 100's of Chaos Scrolls. Not because it is honest or dishonest, but because if you saw that at the last minutes people were DESPERATE to sell them for 15m, then 10m, then 5m, then 1m, come on, there is a reason why they want to get rid of them before the server check, right? If you can't use your head to know it's a glitch, at least use your head to know that these sellers were selling them low because they didn't want to hold into them after the server check.

If you see a guy in the middle of the street desperately trying to sell TV's for 5 bucks each, would you go ahead and buy some?
#46
If something is too good to be true, then it is likely to be exactly that, too good to be true.

Personally, I dont like Nexon's communist approach to these issues. Never was a fan of "we screwed up, but we will not admit it and if you take advantage of the situation, you will be punished."

The way I see it is: if you screw up, admit it and fix it. Further more, if you're going to fix it, put some thoughts on HOW to fix it properly. When you fix it, make sure you target right group (tho I lost faith in Nexon).

Not quite the same thing. If you knew that there were a recent huge downfall in the price of TVs so that everyone sold them for $5, would you buy one? How about if you bought one, then the mayor came in and said you did something illegal and wrong and kicked you out of the town for doing it?

here is the thing i don't get, my friend bought chaos when they fell to 50mil, he got 15 of them before someone told him what was going on with the hacks. He quickly dumped them in the mts and sold them before they delated any more. He ended up taking a big loss on them because they had deflated quicker than he could sell them. At the end of the day, he bought 15 chaos scrolls for 50m each and sold them in the mts for the same as 35mil each. And for this he was banned, for losing money.

Today while in the fm i saw lots of chaos scrolls for 50 mil each, i wonder would i be benefiting from people hacking for buying them? I don't see the difference between buying them chaos on sunday for 50 mil when the price was falling and buying them now. They are still scrolls that were made by people hacking. For all that we know nexon could ban everyone that has bought a chaos scorll in the past week, since everyone who bought any would have benefited from the hack due to the deflation.

On a side note, nexon could have published a notice that there is a problem with chaos scrolls when they posted about the server check. Remember when nexon advised people not to kill bigfoots and if you did you would be banned (temp).

As long as the temp ban doesn't include permanent rank removal, I think it's better than doing nothing

the thing is, if you know making a TV costs lets say 50 bucks and someone is selling them for 5, you can figure out something is wrong. and as far as i know (but i might be wrong) even in the real world buying or selling stolen goods is illegal right?

If it's in a store, I'm sure it won't be illegal.
And since when were T.V.s 50 bucks? 0.0
edit: If it was 5 bucks, you've likely been scammed of 5 bucks by buying a broken T.V.

Assuming a person haven't been on MapleStory for a long time, there's a possibility that they don't know how much "it costs to make a TV", therefore, they're unable to understand that this is a result of hacking.

I'm fairly sure buying and selling stolen goods is only illegal if you know that it is stolen goods. In this case though, it's not the same as stealing, it's piracy: More like going to the library, borrowing a book, making 998 copies of it and then sell them to other people.
#53
People aren't stupid. Everyone was talking about this hack/glitch/whatever the hell it was. I think people deserve what they got. If you're going to abuse something you should be punished for it.

Pirated Chaos Scrolls: 20% chance of working and giving -5/+2 stats xD
J/K, people actually made good items with chaos. =X

My analogy with the TV wasn't the best, but the point was, if people were basically dropping 100's of chaos scrolls to the ground before the server check, each time cheaper and cheaper... it's not exactly a sharp move to go ahead and loot them. If you wanted to do that, at least get a pair and use them on an equip, it's still immoral, but at least it's not dumb, like freaking holding stacks of 100's <_<

As I've said before, ignorance shouldn't be an excuse.

You obviously need a life, I have seen your post all you do is sit there on your coputer and try to proive everyone wrong and/or flame, flame, flame.

By your logic from what you have said there wouldn't be any difference from someone buying 1 chaos scroll that was hacked from another buying 500...If someone knew the glitch but just bought say 10-25 and didn'tget banned but the people that tins of them should get banned...why?

Once a glitcher always a glitcher? So once a thief always a thief...? So no one has ever learned there lesson from making a mistake or what? You don't believe that someone once did a glitch or used a hack once in there life never learned from there mistake?

"Feel like a big man" Uhm yeah good luck with whatever that proved...

I'm not saying that buying the scrolls were the right thing ( stop going straigh to the negative points kid ) but if people wern't buying them odds are the glitch would still be going on right now, and it's hilarious how yo brought up the "tickets" because yes, Nexon most DEFINATLY gets to everyones tickets daily!!!

So you know people that are hackers or there in your guild/buddy list? Because you had to use a Packet Editor, which they msut be a normal day to day hacker and like you said...once a hacker always hacker!!!

Yeah, Nexon NEEDS to say something, why NOT at least say something about even AFTER for thetons of legits that were banned, shows how much they care.

Ignorance? Yup, you should know all about that little boy. =D

nexon Wrote:Over the weekend, we’ve identified certain malicious users who exploited the Perfect Pitch event to receive significantly more items than were intended. To resolve this issue, we conducted an emergency server maintenance.

Please know that we have extended ALL Cash Shop items for 24 hours as compensation for this maintenance.

Unfortunately, the most common item attained through this was the Chaos Scroll. As the Chaos Scroll is intended to be extremely rare and valuable, this has damaged the economy of MapleStory. Until this matter is resolved, Chaos Scrolls are temporarily blocked from the MTS. Additionally, players that abused this situation have either been banned or had their Chaos Scrolls deleted, depending on how they contributed to this situation.

We strongly urge players to avoid using exploits or interacting with other players who are engaging in exploits. Such activity can often result in a suspension or permanent ban from MapleStory.

We thank you for your understanding and wish you a good day. Happy Mapling!

Nexon clearly give a notice regarding the pitch exploit, during the maintenance to fix it.

But why is it not one person has said anything about the chaos scrolls getting "deleted" every single person has said Banned, I'd be fine with them deleting the chaos scrolls on my account and just let me have my account back.

This thread is all about people getting banned o_0 why go off topic again? What people are you referring too? The ones banned or the people in this topic?

The chaos scrolls were deleted from mts, i don't know if they meant the chaos scrolls that were on the accounts got deleted too.

Havent heard any cases were someone was missing chaos scrolls and didn't get banned

Might be a small light of hope that they just give a temp banned and deleted chaos scrolls on the accounts.

I don't think I've flamed anyone. Bring up something that you consider a flame and I'll apologize for it. You, on the other hand, need to be a little nicer and stop being a hypocrite. People just have to bring up the "You have no life" card, don't they?

Where did you get that idea from? I've only said that people who buy hundreds and hundreds of scrolls should be banned. I don't care about the people who only bought a few.

This is Nexon's viewpoint on the subject. They banned so many people because they don't want to take chances. Hard to differenciate legits from hackers when they all have hundreds of scrolls on their account.

I meant that Nexon shouldn't have to say something before people stop buying scrolls. You don't need Nexon to make a statement before realizing something was fishy about chaos scrolls. Don't try to play it off as another "lolz, Nexon didn't say anything so I didn't know it was a glitch."

Realized that you got banned for abusing this glitch. That explains your position a little better.
