Just hopped onto Palamecia. Man, they reached waaaaaay back for this one, lol.
I'm like 1 step away from the final dungeon. Had to stop there, it's my cousin's room and he wanted to sleep.
Also, Army Of One = God. Here are some tips for you guys; 1. ATB Cancel: You need great timing for this one. Once your character has executed their last attack on the ATB, switch to another Paradigm, and their ATB bar will be full instantly. 2. Once Lightning begins using Army of One, Paradigm change to Commando for higher damage output (handy for when your chain's 999%). This is a bug, and works for all Limit Drives.

I just beat the game. Doing the quests now and upgrading pomegranate.
I heard the ultimate weapons give you an extra ATB gauge...

Baaaawwwww. They're making me fight 3 140k hp enemies at once. All of them have a low hp 'screw you and your stagger' attack.

Piggy 2.0 Wrote:There are, but they're not towns in the traditional Final Fantasy sense. No. People need to stop saying this. There are no cities or towns. There are dungeons that take place in cities, but there are no actual cities inhabited by people that you can communicate with. None.

Asumi Wrote:Exactly!! =/ The first half of the game is story driven. Later on, you'll have more freedom with the battle system. Sarah Wrote:No. People need to stop saying this. The Nautilus
After 57 hours of gameplay, I've beaten it as well. I seriously QQd at the ending video. The graphics were beautiful.

But yeah.. It's got tons of replay value. But just not now. I'm basking in the fact that I beat another game.

I took down the final boss in 1 try. Buy 3 Cherub's Crowns, that's like 80% Death Resist, then he can't do pomegranate to you. I knew this beforehand so I was lucky.
Halfway through Chapter 3 (fought the first boss in it); using the CE guide the whole time. I lost two times at that boss because I missed a +HP item earlier, so I had to backtrack for it.
Impressions so far: Everything is beautiful, battle system is a little dull early on but it's getting better, VAs are good except for Vanille, Hope is angsty but I'm relatively tolerant for angsty characters and he has some good reasons, I need to use subtitles because I couldn't always hear what people were saying, and Snow and Sazh are much cooler than expected. To expand on that, Sazh isn't really... well, stereotyped. Well, he is a little, but to the extent that he would be in a US movie... maybe less so, even. Overall, I'm enjoying it a lot. I don't know if I would be if I had played any other main FF game before this- I came in with no real expectations as to gameplay, and I think that helped. EDIT 3/31: Got ~1/2 through Chapter 4, saved right after boss battle. The combat is finally coming together, with Paradigm Shifting happening a lot. Apparently you get to use the first summon at the end of this chapter, so I'm looking forward to that. |
