Moonlapse Wrote:Probably not. Whatever happened last August was remedied by IV fluids and bedrest, so my physician thought it was dehydration/heat exhaustion. By single payer I meant government run healthcare like in Canada. That would be easier to work with given my current situation.
Did you check to see if you count as 'disabled' according to Medicare Part D? Also did you ask your doctor if he had any prescription discount cards to give specifically from the drug manufacturer to make the price of the medication more reasonable? Also if you're going to be on Depakote for several years, then you should look into insurance programs that might give optimal coverage over that specific medication. Several pharmacies offer their own form of discount cards that deduct the price of medications for a $10 monthly fee and tend to help the price of medication become more manageable. You're allowed to use insurance and discount cards together, however in most cases you're not allowed to double up on discount cards or insurance when it comes to a single prescription.
The Pill Book 15th Edition Wrote:Cautions and Warnings:
Do not take valproic acid if you are allergic or sensitive to any of its ingredients. Serious drug reactions involving multiple parts of the body have rarely been reported in people who have recently started taking valproic acid. Use this drug with caution if you have a history of liver problems. Liver failure, sometimes resulting in death, has occurred in people taking valproic acid. Children under age 2 are at increased risk for liver failure associated with valprioc acid, especially if they are also taking other anticonvulsants or have congenital disorders of metabolism, severe seizure disorders, mental retardation, or organic brain disease. After age 2, the risk of fatal liver reaction decreases sharply.
Ammonia in the bloodstream, another factor that worsens liver disease, may also occur with valproic acid. Your doctor should check your liver function before beginning valproic acid treatment and periodically thereafter. Valproic acid should not be taken by those with known urea cycle disorders (a genetic disorder resulting in high levels of ammonia in the bloodstream).
Children and adults taking valproic acid may have rarely developed cases of life-threatening pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas). Abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, or appetite loss can be signs of pancreatitis and require immediate medical attention. Valproic acid can affect platelet function, leading to bruising, bleeding, or changes in blood-clotting function. Valproic acid may interfere with some urine tests of thyroid function.

Frustrated with school. I'm on the verge of giving up on these last 13 days of school.
I'm way too lazy and I didn't do one big assignment that we had 3 weeks to do (this is for Biology). I know the teacher is going to talk to me about this (as much as I don't want her to since I know what's wrong. She's probably going to stress that this is important (I KNOW, LADY) and that I'm not usually like this and bladiblablabla) and my grade for that class is going to plummet from a B+ to either a D or C. This is the primary cause for me feeling like giving up on these last few days.
Something really good needs to happen or I'm going to snap. Ughh... I was absent from school on Thurs. to take a mental break (also so I can get a 5 day weekend instead of 4) and relax but that didn't help at all and is just going to make me fall a day behind on English/History. I had dreamed about snapping at my Biology teacher (she's a crazy psycho, mind you), yelling at her in front of the entire class and I'm afraid I actually am going to do just that.

BLAH. I want to toss my books out the window!
Brain dead. Friday, please come faster so I can write this test that only puts my job on the line slower so I can calm down my panic attacks.

I'm wore out already, and I still have fun and tiring things to look forward to for the next two days. :3
oh and Star Trek Into Darkness was awesome. (thanks for reminding me I literally just saw it, Dan)

Great weekend back home with my parents!
Saturday night we saw Star Trek: Into Darkness (GREAT, except the narrative overall was too formulaic and cliche). Sunday we spent editing down all the stuff I own to everything I'll move to New York with me over the next few months, and eating Naf Naf (fabulous Chicagoland Middle-Eastern chain) while watching Behind the Candelabra, the new Liberace film (aka major awks at parts watching it with the parents). Then today we just relaxed, played board games, had a great dinner, and now I'm back in Madison.
I leave Madison in just over 5 days, so it's time for final memories and goodbyes. It's nostalgic, sure, but with a ton of friends gone by now, be it for the summer or moved on for good, it doesn't feel like I'm fully "here" anymore. I suppose that'll be remedied next Sunday when I'm in New York!

Actually spent my first night in my new apartment last night. I had been at one of my friend's house(along with my other old high school buddies) throughout the weekend play Cards Against Humanity, a bunch of multiplayer N64 emulation, and my first Pathfinder game. Also, so much food. Tried Sushi for the first time at this buffet place down in Fayetteville. Not bad at all. 'Twas a good weekend.

I experienced being poor in Maplestory again. It's weird having to plan out how I'm gonna solo something as easy as Zakum. The Potion Pot helps, but it's still pretty difficult to boss on 100m.
So that was my re-awakening for the week.

I keep falling asleep while driving but I go to sleep pretty early. Hopefully it doesn't turn into a major problem.

I find that death is a pretty major and irreversible problem. Get that checked out.
I have every sort of tension possible right now. My shoulders are sore, my mind is sore... everything is off.

Drove to Iowa on Monday to see my real mom for the first time in 19 years.
Met and did all that hugging and stuff. I'm not a very emotional person, but my mom cried and was happy. So I've been spending the whole week out here. She doesn't do too much since she's sick and her medication makes her feel worse, so most of the time I'm stuck in a one room apartment.
With no internet. Thank goodness for coffee shops with free wifi that I go to after she's gone to sleep, since she goes to bed so early.
I feel bad, cuz I know she's overjoyed that I'm here, but I'm bored out of my mind. Bored to the point where I'm watching supernatural on netflix on my phone.
Ah, well. It's only a few days out of my summer. I've got a wedding I'm in on June 7th and a class that starts the week after. My boyfriend comes the day after the class ends, so at least I'll be keeping semi-productive once that starts.
