I don't know. It was during some random Lionheart NPC conversation in Caledon Forest while I was watching TV.
It was like, one of the NPCs (an Asuran) asked who the Tengu are, and then the other NPC (I believe Sylvari, but don't quote me there, it might have been a human) saying that they fled here, then walled themselves off because of the prejudice of other races against them.
If I remember correctly, I read in the GW1 (or maybe 2) wiki that the Inflicted plague ended up getting blamed on the Tengu (Or maybe it was some other catastrophe in Cantha, I'll have to look it up), forcing them to flee from the continent.
Edit: Read a wiki article on them, just to see what I've mis-interpreted.
Quote:The tengu from Cantha were expelled by Emperor Usoku as he removed all non-human races from the land and were the last to leave Cantha - as such, they have the most information on what happened there.
When the Great Tsunami of Zhaitan's rise occurred, the tengu across the world saw it as a sign to return home and traveled to Tyria, a descendant of Talon Silverwing leading a charge through Zhaitan's risen forces.
So I assume that the Tengu in the Sea of Sorrows are the ones that left Cantha. Would correlate to the stuff I heard from the NPCs.
After reading up on the article about the Dominion of Winds, it is past the wall attaching to Caledon Forest. Considering that the map marks this area as the Sea of Sorrows, this would lead me to believe that the Dominion of Winds will be part of this update.

Apparently the new zone is only about half as large as an avarage zone. The Sea of Sorrows area is much bigger. It's just that I'm expecting the Tengu to be much bigger.

I expect the Lost Shores to be the two bits of land right next to Sparkfly Fen, which seems to be about the right size. I'm expecting the rest of the Sea of Sorrows, and the other bits of mainland that aren't part of a zone yet, to be added later.

I dunno, I guess we'll see.
If they only add a small portion of the Sea of Sorrows, it will be kind of weird because it's such a small area remaining to focus on for an expansion.
I would imagine the expansions would be like they were in GW1, entire continents. Yeah, there's still a lot of Tyria left on the map that's unexplored, but considering they're going to give us a lot of free content updates I imagine that they will fill most of that before we get to the first expansion and have an entire continent as the expansion itself much like in GW1.

New "Ascended" gear that is "slightly" stronger and can have a special "infusion" slot. Let's just say that if they pineapple this up and create a gear grind of any sort, I'll be done with the game.

Hoping that they make it so that there's no regular upgrade slot, so it's a situation of picking which you think is better, the new infusion slot or the regular upgrade slot.
If it has both...I will be disappointed.

Stuff explained, y0. I don't think it's that bad. Didn't GW1 basically do the same thing with the Mursaat?

At least it's how I thought, an Infusion Slot would replace a normal Upgrade slot.
Overall this seems to be a decent addition, giving you more choices in gear. Sure, it's better, but if the gear wasn't better than you'd never want to get it. It was that way in GW1 as well, except it was just a defense boost on top tier gear instead of additional stats over the normal Lv.20 gear.
This overall doesn't seem to be too bad, but I suppose it will be determined by how powerful the infusions will get.

Yeah, we'd have to see what the Infusions can actually do. You have to consider how you're losing a Sigil/Rune in order to survive Agony, or at least that's what it looks like.
I wish I played GW1 instead of MapleStory. (╥﹏╥

People server swap like crazy due to WvW and them still being free. One day there's a ton of people online, the next there's no one. It's honestly really annoying.
Plus the time you play makes a huge difference. I usually play at night (EST) and no one is on, but the other day the second it got to like 10AM (On Sunday I believe) the population skyrocketed and there were people everywhere.
I don't think as many people PvE because of the feeling that there's no end game...but I honestly enjoy the game no matter my level and so I don't really have that issue even though I rarely PvP in any way. But, with that opinion, a lot of the PvE crowd have stopped playing, especially with Citadel of Flame and Arah being bugged and the events to open them don't trigger anymore in many servers. It's been like that for like two to three weeks now too.

After coming back after a break, the game feels even more unresponsive that before. I feel like the game is about a second behind whatever I input. Sometimes, the keys I'm pressing aren't even going off even after spamming them. Between the cast times, spell queues, and animations, the game just feels completely sluggish.

Now, that is weird. I never had that before, not even on my old computer which would explode after 2 hours of playing.
Still level 31ish on my main. I would totally be level 60ish if I stuck to one main. Goddammit.

It's not my computer, I'm talking about the game in general. It felt sluggish before, but I had rose tinted goggles from being so excited. A new game should not be unresponsive when an old game (WoW) has very crisp controls. A lot of high end PvPers have given up on GW2 becoming an esport because of the movement/slow reaction.

Being completely honest....I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. I've never had the controls not respond to me at all. The only problem I ever had was that the targetting system was stupid based on the camera, but I found there's an Option to fix that. Once I turned that on, I've never had unresponsiveness unless I was lagging. Are you sure you're not having latency issues? In GW1 they had that nice Ping circle wherever you wanted to put it, I don't know why they removed it, it was very useful.

I have one key left if anyone wants one. They say they only have a limited amount though so I dunno how long it will be available.

What someone said
Quote:I don't know why but the game feels less responsive than WoW. Anyone here who experienced similar things?
A response to it from a gladiator WoW player that sums up what I feel as well.
Quote:This is basically what has been wrong with every single MMO to have come out after WoW. We could sit here all day and talk about what MMOs have done right and wrong, but there has yet to be a game that is even remotely close to how smooth WoW's combat and movement system is. SW;TOR was probably the closest to wow in that regard and it doesn't even come close. I haven't played WoW at all since s4, apart from 3 weeks in s7, but there's nothing that comes close. I don't know how companies can keep making MMOs and not realizing that the #1 complaint from users is that it's never as smooth. You can have the greatest graphics, story and gameplay in the world, but nobody is going to stick around if the game is as responsive or intuitive.
He is talking about GW2's combat system.
I'll see if I can upload a video that shows what I'm talking about. I'll do it tomorrow though. Going to bed now.
Edit - here
From the time I press the button, to the time the bullet hits the target, is almost a full second. There's a noticeable delay from when I press my key, to when the spell queues up, then there's a short delay for the game to recognize the spell queue, followed by the cast time, and then the travel time for the bullet. Having these delays for every spell becomes very noticeable in PvP and makes the game feel very sluggish.

The only complaint I have about the combat system is that some of the movesets don't seem to flow properly, especially with the main repeatable attack. What I mean is that there's too much of a delay, or the animation doesn't seem right. I just don't use those weapons, and I don't see how it's a "The game isn't responsive," situation.
Your initial complaint was that it's non responsive, but non responsive and non smooth are two completely different things. When someone says that they feel that some of the abilities are not smooth, it's not that they feel that the game doesn't respond to them, it's that they feel that the moveset doesn't flow properly. At least, that's how I see it. And if that is indeed your complaint, than I will agree in some degree. It's not that way for EVERY SINGLE moveset, no, but it definitely is for some. I can't tolerate Scepter on most classes because of this, the attacks just do not flow properly and as a result I feel like it's crap, even if it isn't. But this isn't an issue of the game being non responsive.
Honestly this problem is why I stopped playing my Elementalist. All I was using was Dual Dagger Fire and Water, and Staff Fire and Earth. That's 4/12 movesets, and half of my abilities at any given time bother me. I really loved Air Magic in GW1, but it just sucks in GW2, but that's more of a balance issue, in my opinion.
I really feel like it's an issue in non smooth mechanics that's your problem, and I can see that, but if you're going to stick with the non responsive idea...I just simply cannot agree with that at all. I never once had an issue where I pressed a proper key/key combination and the game did not respond.
