Dragon Nest JP
Phantasm Wrote:Azure89, you failed loging in too many times so it wants you to confirm with captcha
And the second one is telling you that it still recognizes that you are out of the country so the game's not going to start.

Should I be able to play if using a JP OS just for Dragon Nest? Or Should I Change VPN?

I'm in Japan and an DN didn't work on my american OS no matter what I did so that says a bit right there
The Japanese OS got in no problem at all

I'd probably go JP OS + VPN just to be on the safe side.

But you can only go JP OS if you have a JP computer or Windows 7 Ultimate right?

Incorrect. It's the same process as any operating system. Just find a Japanese win7 iso, burn it to be a bootable disc or mount it and install it on a separate hard drive. Next time you boot, you'll have a choice between 2 OSes. You can install a US OS on a prebuilt Japanese computer and vice versa.

Thanks for the informations! I'm going to try JP OS + VPN then ;D

EDIT: Is it possible to have two Win7 (in my case EU+JP) installed in different partitions but in the same hard-disk?

See, I don't see how that's the problem. I'm running on the American version of Windows 7, but when I switched everything to Japanese, my Internet Explorer converted automatically and everything runs perfectly fine. I didn't have to download a special OS just for Dragon Nest. Have you guys tried going to your Internet Explorer options and changing it to Japanese?

The American version of Windows 7 Ultimate can be switched entirely into Japanese by using that feature only in that version.

Yea but people don't have WIndows 7 Ultimate and some don't have external hardrives for JP Os's.

Both hit my case.

Well, here's my entire Internet Explorer 8. It should be in Japanese. I don't know if this will solve the problem for you, though. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=IOZABIB2

Well the site I use as a guide said Windows 7 is easy, just switch everything to japanese and it's all good.
With windows xp I had to use a conversion program.
People with vista are out of luck, at least that's what I heard.

the problem is, going to the internet options, in the tools tab of internet explorer, to change it to ajapnese, doesn't actually change the UI into japanese. it only selects the most preferred language to display a website in first. so if you're going onto japanese websites, it'll choose japanese encoding or something i think.

we need to actually change IE to not show file, tools, and whatever other tabs in english, but fuairu, tuuruzu (just file and tools and etc tabs in katakana or whatever they're in in japanese).

YEAH I KNEW IT, YOUR IE DOES HAVE THE ja-JP folder!!

how did you get this shikage!? is there a way to install that on IE for win 7? please be more specific on how to get the ja-JP folder installed onto your ie (the upload might not work with my computer since i dont know if this is win7 x64 bit edition)

i have a feeling this is definitely the problem. people are trying to use IE but without the ja-JP folder!

To be honest, all I did was switch my entire Windows 7 to Japanese and when I started up Internet Explorer, it was completely in Japanese. I didn't do anything in sepcific to change it.

its not. i just tried to connect and it still said outside of jap. Unless they're saying that because of the maintenance. And while i knew it didn't work i spent like 30s to an hour setting up my xbox controller so if i actually play ill be comfortable.

Well, if you happen to get a Japanese OS somehow, it should work. Anton installed a Japanese XP and he was able to get the game working.

how did you "switch your entire windows 7 to japanese" ? do you mean you installed japanese OS, or did you just change locale, region time zone, and anything else in the regional settings at the control panel?

and also, do you have home premium win 7 or one of the better versions?

im pretty sure this is the main problem since I stated earlier with my firefox en-US and firefox JP example, the error messages switched from using internet outside of japan after clicking the game start button, to use IE6 or higher error after clicking the game start button.

it detects what language the IE you're using is.

for now, if there are any XP users out there, here are the MUI's for IE for different languages, http://arstechnica.com/microsoft/news/20...arrive.ars

vista is out there too.

I have Windows 7 Ultimate. All I did was go to my Control Panel and change everything to Japan/Japanese.
Reply
what exactly?

is there anything else we have to change to japanese besides the regional language settings? i'm guessing you just switched your locale, location, and date settings to japanese. to be honest, i dont know what else there is to change to japanese other than the things in the regional language settings.

i have a feeling this is bullpomegranate with m$, trying to get win 7 homepremium users to buy the MUI packs for the mui IE8. chances are since you already have ultimate, it might automatically put on the ja-JP mui for your IE8 when you switch locale/unicode, however that wont work for win 7 with homeremium, unless you really are changing other options in the control panel, not only the regional language settings.

on another note in the 6 hours my body let me sleep i dreamt about soymilk that went really bad, and being able to change mouse sensitivity in the dragon nest demo.

if we hypothetically do get this working, does anybody know how to change the mouse sensitivity in the game? its wayyyyyyyyy too slow.

all right, i think getting this to work on homepremium is impossible, unless you bought your home premium is japanese.

the only option for home premium users to get this to work i think, is to go get ultimate. you guys probably know how to and where to. at the microsoft store of course! *laughs*

All of the options are "Japan" or "Japanese."

Mouse sensitivity can be changed in the Game Options when you press "escape."

I did the same thing as ShiKage.

Except, not everything is Japanese. I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit. I don't have an extra disc to burn anything onto, so is there anything I'm doing wrong? Is there any way to install Japanese windows without having a CD or anything?

Making my computer Japanese would probably benefit me anyway...
