Wings and Heart of the Legacy of the Void Swarm (Gameplay Thread) - Night 7
He got one extra kill every night. Started one kill on one night, then next night he got 2 kills, then third night he got 3.
I never got those results from the PM's holy got when he was covering me.
And so ends another chaotic game. Unless someone was already in line, I'm planning to host the next game. The planned theme is pirates vs. ninjas (and no, I won't be drawing anything from One Piece or Naruto). We're talking classic pirates and ninjas, not anime stuff. Also, it's going to be more like my first game, in a couple of ways: only one mafia and more importantly NOT EVERY ROLE HAS A POWER. Shocking, I know, after the last few games, but said games have been getting a bit ridiculous in my eyes (no offense intended to the hosts). It's just incredibly hard to balance games where everyone has a power. I mean 3 town-aligned detectives? What. I know they had restrictions, but still. Also, I'm planning on not using clues in this game, since they seemed to be such a bust last time around. I'll put up a signup thread tomorrow (or today, depending on your time zone) when I'm not about to go to sleep.

(P.S. My game is going to have a separate discussion thread (like my last one did) to cut down on insane amounts of deadtalking. I'm looking at you, Meta.)

There is a mirror in my place so you're actually looking at yourself. And why call me out? y0y0y0y0shi0 did more dead posts than I did.
Well I'm looking forward to it, especially if it's fairly vanilla in nature. Though I did enjoy these other ones, I still think it's best to have a ratio of around 1 vanilla game for every 2 themed or test games. Tongue
Dead post tally:
yoshi - 8, mostly right after death
Meta - 17
Partly what Dusk said, and partly this one line that particularly annoyed me:

Can you explain how you posting is NOT your fault? Was someone holding you at gunpoint and saying "post this or I will kill you"? And I made one dead post, which, while it might have annoyed some people and I apologize for it, contained nothing related to the game or involving arguments with other people.

But I digress. Yes, other people were deadposting. Yes, you weren't the only one. You just made the most, as Dusk so helpfully pointed out.
Go ahead Xela. I'm looking forward to your game. I have one planned too, but I'm still tweaking it a bit to make it balanced and interesting. I call hosting the next game after you. :3

Try to make sure you don't put any Dusks in your game though. <3

Not you just your OP role :3
Overall, not a great game Infection. I personally enjoyed it due to my insane luck with detections, but considering 40% of the starting players were mafia (a bit much, really) that's not too surprising. Dusk's role was TERRIBLY OP near the end, if I were alive that would have made me super mad. Besides that, there were too many mafians. This was sort of balanced by having multiple detective roles, but that really ended up swinging it the other way. But still, 40% of total players is just too much scum. One thing I specifically have a gripe with is how you described the bio-stasis ability when it was used on people. In StarCraft 2, the animation for the spell actually looks very similar to the Infestor's Fungal Growth spell and to be honest I have no idea why it's called bio-stasis (I didn't even know its name before this game), but you really did a poor job of describing it as it sounded like the spell being used was actually the Arbiter's stasis. This definitely caused some serious confusion and was the root of my entire argument with Meta.. If you'd described the ability properly, or at least to enough of an extent that it could be recognized as a Zerg ability, that entire thing could have been avoided. Again, I personally enjoyed the game but I'm just trying to give some honest feedback. Don't feel bad though, I probably wouldn't have been able to do better.
So basically, both neutrals were massively underpowered, then massively overpowered. Dusk basically made it through on sheer luck, and then completely destroyed everything. In addition, the numbers were completely out of whack. Eight mafia? 10 hostile threats to the village? The village should at LEAST have one "faction" (number-wise) more players than both mafia combined. Having more than one neutral is sort of OP unless you give a hint to there being more than one after the first one is found. Speaking of which, there was absolutely no indication to there being any chance of me gaining additional powers in my first role, which was present in Dusk's PM. There were WAY too many inspectors.
