Boss Battles Thread

If you're in a party, is DR still 80 seconds or is it random (long time ago it was random, idk if it ever changed).

All the runs I've been to recently have it functioning normally, well, like every other boss, even when attacking as a group. But somehow we were able to get it working like that prior to Tempest, during a time period when it was still DRing like crazy, so I'm still a bit hesitant to believe that it's actually been "fixed" (assuming that functioning like every other bosses' DR is what they intended for Empress), but it appears so.

I haven't had her spam it randomly since Unleashed, but aside from Bind I'm the only one attacking on my runs, so I can't say for sure.

I believe for Empress, it's been like this:
Pre-Tempest: Random DR's when there's more than one attacker
Post-Tempest: Change in DR timing with change in aggro-system rankings (when the rank #1 player is displaced by another)
Post-Unleashed: Unchanging, consistent DR timing no matter how often the aggro changes (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eOf5q02JYDs)

The aggro ranking thing wasn't accurate. Didn't agree with what the Boss Notification displayed.
Pre-Unleashed off-time DRs would display "Your opponent unleashes a mighty counterattack" on the Boss Notification. I never saw that message if she was DRing normally the entire run.

aggro rankings is determined by who attacks the most number of times without stopping; not the highest amount of damage dealt, if i remember correctly

I've never paid attention to the boss notifications, bar the ones that would tell me when she would potential lock, so I didn't know about that particular message.

Pre-Unleashed, I had always used the aggro-system to my advantage when duoing on my Phantom with a Kaiser, and it never failed me. We'd keep the aggro on the Kaiser since Giga Wave attacks (...faster?) than Mille Aiguilles, so we would only have to keep track of one DR timing. [For some reason, using Rapid Fire always switched the aggro onto me, so I guess the rankings are determined by hits-per-second, not damage-per-second, as said above?]

Yes, the aggro-system tends to become unreliable for timing DR with a greater number of attackers. But its core function to rank hit-rates in descending order has always worked properly in my own experience, and incidentally, I found it to be very reliable for duoing.

Well thanks for the info. That makes my empress killing a lot easier. Solo I have to pray she doesn't heal during that small time frame. Now I can just bring a second bind and kill her with ease since DR timer doesn't change like crazy.

Once I finish my fafnir (gain ~+100 att, +105% boss) I'll have no trouble killing v2.

There weren't GM events this weekend, (un)fortunately. I trained on every 2x event (rip sleep schedule) and several hours off of them.

On 2x events I use 1.5x exp coupons + gold MPE pots and I get ~2.5b/hr. Off 2x events, I only have HS + 30% pend + 4% guild and I get ~700-800m/hr.

The biggest help was season 8 of How I Met Your Mother getting released on Netflix

Both Kisekki and scholtex have been getting more exp than me. I forgot to refresh myself on their EXP values before the update today but I'm pretty sure both of them got 15-20b+ exp since yesterday. I only gained 8b yesterday, and 13.5b on Saturday. Mad props to them; I assume 1.5x exp coupons are more abundant in Broa and Scania but that's still pretty crazy. If I could train always on those coupons I could probably pull 20b in ~14hrs of training.

Unless she have a private seller or stocked up on them, 1.5x coupons are not abundant in Broa, as far as I know. I've only seen like two boxes in the FM in a month.

On the other hand, Scania is saturated with them...

Probably the only time I'll solo. I forgot to make key so I couldn't bring my main into 2 full runs (moved tradeable stuff and brought a mule on 2nd run).
