They were confirmed on Pokemon.com's English site. Release date in the U.S. is Spring 2011. Serebii has confirmed it. Bulbapedia too. Reshiram looks FANTASTIC.

Dialga/Palkia were bearable enough with their robotic appearance. these two? I see a giant turbine engine tail for the black one, and a supermassive fan blowing mist and fog on the white one. as if a land shark with airplane wings and engine cases on its head werent bad enough..

Reshiram is fantastic. It's an angelic figure. I hoped one of the legendaries would be like it. Gosh it's beautiful. Don't be a hater.

i think you need your eyes checked. its wings are attached to/are its arms. no angel i know of is like that. who is? a bat. thats right, the white abomination is the devil, and the black one is just as bad.

hate the lengendaries. typing wont matter unless the white one turns out to be dark. then i will approve.

Wow, these actually look like legendaries, unlike some other Pokémon.

White legendary on black cover and black legendary on white cover. White legendary looks more organic, and the black legendary seems pretty robotic. Also:

That's it, I'm getting Black version. I am getting a Ghost/Flying vibe from Reshiram, which would be awesome.

That's a bit of an odd place to put a fur patch/spike/whatever that is.

I'm still not sure what the whole "they don't even look like Pokemon" argument is based on. What would make them look like Pokemon? Clones of Gen I?

Also: They're both series based on monsters. Yes, the monsters do have different styles, but there are obviously going to be some points that they share to make them "monsters"; claws, body shapes, wings, fur, teeth, etc.

There's bound to be some resemblance to each other, regardless of if you like them or not.

I think Dark type is supposed to be more like "sneaky" and "dirty fighting" than "darkness." It works against psychic because it's hard to predict something that follows its own rules. Fighting is super effective against it because a true fighter knows how to deal with street scum. I never really thought of Dark type as "TURNING THE LIGHTS OFF" darkness, so I wouldn't see a "light" type made to be its opposite.

Not to mention Dark and Steel were only introduced into the game as a balance for how overpowered Psychic types were in Gen I.


Who knows, maybe they will add a new type to spice stuff up. It'd be rather strange this late into the game though.
