I feel that since tenacity and the new items were introduced, it's much more acceptable to be getting zerkers and cdr boots over mercs. C&D's aspd and crit chance is really nice too. Can replace a phantom dancer depending on what boots you opt for early game. I'll only be getting mercs early on if their team is really heavy on cc.

But what will you do when the enemy ashe got merc treads and still beats you 1v1 late game because you used an item slot for C&D? The new tenacity items need to build into stuff, or they will suffer the same problems as brutalizer pre-ghostblade.

That would only happen really late game, unless your build involves a lot of cheap items being used and uses a lot of slots that way. Worst case scenario you need to sell c&d or whatever for a pd and resell shoes for mercs.

Hehe, started playing The Rain Man's Teemo build, suddenly I'm not dying anymore xd. Last game I was 6/0/4 when they surrendered. Was about time I stopped being silly with all my glass cannon builds, even though they were fun.

lmfao, I ended up feeding as a kat, and i decided to go for a tank build, since our team doesn't have a tank. we ended up winning. LOL.
