[1.2.321] Skill Balancing - Edelstein & Leben
Blizzard is still exactly what you just described, cool down or not.

At level 30, blizzard will provide 3 seconds of freezing while you have to wait 30 seconds in order to
use it again.

That leaves 27 seconds of vulnerability compared to F/P's Paralyze's 'freezing' of 10? seconds
allowing them to essiantally train with ice strike and big bang.
*I still don't see why nexon is switching our roles for the revamp*

That's hardly an appropiate measure of mob control for I/L not to mention the fact of blizzard being
maxed later in the game due to the importance of other skills.

But Ice/Lightning Mages have Ice Strike, just use that to freeze then deal damage.

or for that matter, ice demon?

Ice Demon and Ice Strike are significantly weaker than Paralyze.

Is it too much to ask to just train with an ice skill instead of resorting to freeze/hit tactics in 4th job?

No, but it's too much to ask for your one non elemental skill to suddenly become elemental.
You should have options beyond magic claw when you need to do both elemental and non elemental damage simultaneously and therefore can't use elemental reset.

But they still freeze.

Was Ice-Demon given a freezing effect recently? I was aware of the "stunning" effect the Demon skills have from my times as an Archmage, but not a freezing effect.

It hardly matters, the skills are so weak that it would slow down your training more than benefit it.

I don't agree with the large advantage F/p's have now in mob control compared to Ice/Lightning Magicians. Paralyze will not only destroy mobs much faster but keep them completely immobilized. The slightly higher 1v1 I/L archmages have(which really hardly matters considering they're mages) hardly compensates for that.

Alloy Wrote:I actually did suggest it. A double jump skill where you can jump after a flash jump, just to be able to use flash jump again. Low level masteries could make you loose momentum, and less height, and when maxed, normal jump, momentum maintained, for example.

...It'd make NLs VERY fun to play. And by VERY, I mean it.

yes i want this so bad no delay flash jump...right now you have to land on the ground to use it again...take that away and i be golden with shadowers getting normal fj

You want Unlimited Flash Jump? What in the world, this isn't a private server.

True, but look at it from a GMS story perspective.

When an I/L requires blizzard, they're obtaining the highest mastery of what their
element is capable of.
*remembers using blizz for the first time*

The same can be said for F/P's meteor or Bishop's genesis.

I/L: Cold Beam > Ice Strike > Blizzard
F/P: Fire Arrow > Explosion > Meteor
Bishop: Heal > Shining Ray > Genesis

Each had their use for helping with game progression.
*of course, mist training provided f/p an easier alternative but explosion had its purpose...*

Now that they're near useless for training, what do you have to show for going into 4th job? =/

The only thing I wish to see is another elemental skill that can replace ice strike.

What do other classes have to show for getting 4th job? We don't get big screen-decimating attacks. You get flashy new skills called Ice Demon, Chain Lightning, Big Bang, and Elquines. And now that they don't completely suck, you actually get to use them.

Mages actually get some new attacking skills in 4th job, unlike some classes. (Dark Knights say hello)

I fail to see why it matters which classes get FLASHY BRAND NEW SKEELZ or not.

Other classes =/= archmages/bishops.

You don't see anything wrong with all three adventure mages training with the same neutral skill?...

I can care less about blizzard getting a cool-down if I could still train with an ice attack in 4th job.

Also, I'll wait for vids to surface before stating the effectiveness of the other skill changes.
*excluding big bang*

Yes, we all know of nexon's lack of creativity when it came to 'certain' 4th job classes during initial release...

You're redirecting your issue.
IL's have two 4th job ice spells already. Ice Demon and Blizzard. You don't need a third. Your issue is that neither of the ones they have do what you want and instead of fixing them you're trying to tamper with other skills they have to turn them into what you want. That's illogical. If a skills broken it makes more sense to want the skill fixed, not to try turning other skills into replacements for it.

I missed the part where Nexon made it so you can only train with one skill at a time.

I've played since early Beta and I changed my keys from the Ctrl/Alt setup as soon as I got more than 2 skills to use. I posted this in one of those Corsair keyboard setup threads a long time ago. Since then I've gotten MW, which I put on H.

There is no freaking way I can use all of those skills with my hand scrunched up in the corner of the keyboard.

By training with an ice skill, I meant using it in the same design as ice strike.

Ice demon nor the new blizzard can provide this function.

I'll admit that suggesting big bang's possible elemental attribute was flawed but currently,
they need to do something to help make each mage have a unique training skill. >=/

Ultimates were all the same as well but at least they were differentiated through elements.
