Thanks for the links and stuff! And yeah I'm trying to eat more, but it's difficult for me to eat a lot :/. I always feel full really quickly, and if I try eating past that I feel really sick and like I need to vomit.
This is it. I think I look like a stick in the mirror once again. The bright side is I'm up 7lbs from when this happened last year--I was 163 when I decided to bulk last year, I'm 170 now.
The bulk begins. This time I'm going really slow so I don't get really fat--starting at 2700 and going up if I need to. I bulked at around 3500 last year and gained a lot of fat in a few months, so the max I'm willing to go to is 3000.
*Although I've decided that I'm a bodybuilder and I'm doing this mostly for the vanity now, I'm still gonna be keeping track of my main lifts and competing for SJSU. My lifts went down considerably during my cut, besides my bench. Hopefully I make progress as I hammer my delts because I am so insecure about my rear delts I swear
BENCH: 255 (up from 245)
SQUAT: 365 (down from 385)
DEADLIFT: 455 (down from 495)
TOTAL: 1075 (down from 1125)
My numbers have been solid recently. I'm about a month out from a meet on October 26.
I've been benching 195x8, 225x3, 210x6. Squat 305x8, 325x6, 345x3. Deadlift 425x6, 445x3 (still struggling, my form is way off from practicing conventional so much and I've been trying to fix it).
Aiming for 260/395/515 (1270) at 181 at the meet. I'm positive my deadlift will shoot right back up once I dial down my form.
lol I saw a thread on r/fitness about 10 minutes ago saying "My cousin is doing a bro-split and not SS/SL and he's made more gains than me, this doesn't real???"

11 days out from the meet. My goals are still 260/395/515, but I'm a little worried about my deadlift. I'm gonna do a few 1RM tests this week and then deload to see where I'm sitting.
im a chef. i do everything from 50 to 100 hours a week. my worst was 140 hours.
i dont have time to prep meals nor recover fully from every workout. i leave my apartment at anywhere between 7am-9am and return somewhere between 11pm and 4am.

Benched a few singles today, I was going to open at 225 for the meet but I think I'll go to 235. 225 was super easy even with a decent pause at the bottom, 235 went up slower but it wasn't hard. Also for those of you with trouble locking out their bench, I recommend paused half-reps. Did 155x5 of those with a 3-second pause and it was pretty tough.
I'm gonna try to open 445 deadlift, probably 345-355 squat.
*Deadlift singles earlier this morning. 425 was startlingly hard, but I probably just did something wrong when breaking it off the floor because 445 was easy enough. Squat singles tomorrow, hopefully I can open 355 or higher considering I did 330x6 on Thursday.
**Switched to low bar and put up 385 with a belt, so that's what I'm gonna open with. Everything below that felt super easy, and I didn't lose much speed on 385.
FINALLY HAVE SOME NEW MEET GOALS
BENCH: 265
SQUAT: 425, realistically if 385 is 90% of my max, and I think it might be even less than that
DEADLIFT: 485, not feeling good about it but we'll see
TOTAL: 1175, but I will go for 1200 even if I'm not so confident in my deadlift. My bench and squat are on point right now so I have no doubt I can set up a good total with them.
Two weekend backpacking trips in the last three weeks. This was an unseasonably nice weekend. Soon the cold sets in and I wonder what the hell I'm doing every time I hike. 32 Miles between the two trips and an awful lot of Clif bars.

Third place. Not bad, but I'm really upset because I choked really hard on my deadlift.
Meet report
I weighed in at 169-lbs. I tried to cut to 165 but I was off because I only really focused on it for a day--I was 177 on a normal day and tried to cut last minute. Probably gonna do a more dedicated cut for my next meet in January.
Squats were super hype. I was so psyched up by the time I was called up to the platform. I opened with 369-lbs (167.5-kg) and hit it really easily, albeit I was out of position so I felt a small pain in my groin. I was nervous afterwards so I went for 177.5 (391) for my second. My second attempt was even better than my first, bar speed was really fast, no pain. Third attempt was a HUGE PR attempt at 192.5 (424).
My last squat was really the best point in the meet for me. I feel like I could've grinded out 430+ with how I managed to hit 424. I got two whites out of three; side judge called me out on depth, but after watching the video I have no idea why she gave me a red because my depth was fine. I'm hoping to hit 430+ my next meet.
BENCH:
102.5 / 226 (3/3)
110 / 242 (0/3)
110 / 242 (3/3) 7-lb PR from recently, 255 bench was a long time ago
I'm pretty disappointed with my bench, but it's always been low so I guess now I know what I need to focus on. I opened with 102.5 (226), really easy, no complications since I pretty much always bench 2 plate singles in the gym to warm up. I ended up missing 110 (242) the first time because my lockout, more specifically my triceps, are super weak. My coach and one of my teammates came up to me and told me to try to explode the bar off my chest from the bottom to compensate, so I did that for my third attempt and locked the weight out with some difficulty. No form issues or anything, just a weak lockout. I want to work on that and hopefully hit a much higher number for my next meet.
My first and second attempts were both ridiculously easy. Not much summary, I just ripped them both off the floor and finished two fast lifts. If I had gone for a higher second attempt, 490 or so, I would've taken second place.
My third attempt was where I really struck out. I pull sumo, so by the nature of the movement I struggle with getting the weight off the floor. I usually start my pulls with a pretty violent jerk and I can only finish if I get the bar a good length up my shins this way. With my 501 attempt I just didn't yank the bar hard enough. The bar actually left the ground and I moved it up about an inch afterwards, but I couldn't get it to that threshold where I could finish the lift. Had I yanked it harder this would've been a 5-lb PR and 2nd place with an 1167 total.
TOTAL:
512.5 / 1130
I lost second place to my friend who pulled 501 right after I missed mine. The guy who placed first was a monster, I saw him pull 530 for the last lift of my flight. I'm pretty salty, but I'm just gonna take it and hopefully place better my next meet.

Pros: I've had some serious results and people who haven't seen me in a while can't believe it's the same stick-thin guy they knew at the start of the year.
Cons: Food is ruling my life to the point where I feel overwhelming guilt if I eat something outside my diet plan. Yet I still eat it.
Srs though, tested my 1 rep max for squats for the first time ever today. Managed 150kg and stopped. I went through 110,120,130, and 140 to get there so I was getting tired.
I went from 55x8 to 75x8 on incline DBs in a few months. Seems to be transferring over to my flat barbell bench, since I did 200x4x8 with some effort today. Meet in January. Hoping for 275.
Also I've been doing a lot of work for my shoulders recently. Once a week I'll do OHP 5x5 and add 5 lbs every time I can successfully do the full 5x5. I do 3 push presses for every rep I fail otherwise and try the same weight the next week--I'm on 120 right now. Then I'll do complexes of push press-power jerk-split jerk to failure. I can get up to like 185 on that, but my jerk technique is shit so I'm hoping to improve rapidly once I fix that.
