Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword [SPOILERS]
Finally beat the game xP 8 days of owning it, 60 hours of gameplay total~

Think I can safely call this my favorite Zelda game x3, finally knocking down Wind Waker to #2 for me~

Though, I've a small bit to say about the final battle:

I beat Hero Mode last night after getting the Hylian Shield after countless tries and fails. lol

I don't know what to do now! I don't want to put the game down, but I'm super close to 100%ing the game. I guess I'll start anew with another file. Maybe I'll do a 6 heart run this time. Or a no-shield run. Hmmmmmmm...

I was to lazy to get the shield, and then I had the cursed medal on so i could not use one anyway. I finished the game like that. I can imagine hero mode being a tad tricky without one, but I don't think I will play it. It just does not offer enough to justify another playthrough. Maybe in the future.

I never used my shield for anything but deflecting deku nuts. I didn't have any problem with the last bosses. I think using the shield equates to doing it wrong.

Used the shield in a LoZ game? How does it feel to be a CASUAL?

The shield's nice and helpful in this game xP

Sure a lot of times you can just defeat and enemy before the shield's use comes into play, but it's nice using it every once in a while.

It's a LOT more useful in this game than it has been in previous ones. (Though it was kinda useful as the "Shield Attack" in Twilight Princess, since it was used to switch into other attacks you learn)

Anywho, I did a lot on my first playthrough of the game, so now that I'm doing Hero Mode I'm trying my best to 100% it along the way xP cause why not give that a try~

Now i dont wanna be attacked by crazed skyward sword fans, but i think the motion controls are flawed.

Bokoblin blocking on the right, i swing left, i bounce off doing no damage even tho its still blocking on the right. Deku Baba horizontal mouth, i swing horizontal, bounce off again. Unless im ment to be looking at my Wiimote instead of the tv when fighting so my hand is completely precise, i find the only way to defeat stuff is to flail super fast till it dies lol.

If you notice how slow all the monsters are in attacking it is not so far fetched to think of slowing down your own moves too. I would have prefered a more fast paced battle system but if you take it for what it is, it at least works. In the end I think I like classic controls better though, because Wii is not advanced enough to pull 1:1 off for real.

But then that'd be ANOTHER reason for people to bash it for being exactly the same as every other Zelda game. "It's not different enough."

Seriously, what the f'uck do people expect out of a Zelda game for it to be different?

And do these opinions effect your experience with the game? Im sure if you are a Zelda fan you'd buy each game regardless of any negative comments.

Of course not. How would it?

The point is, what the hell do people expect from Zelda? Skyward Sword is pretty damn different than other Zelda titles already, yet it's being nailed for "being exactly the same as Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess" all over the internet.

That's the problem with the opinions on new entries to long standing IPs. People want the IP to be redone into something new, but still feel like that IP. I had an argument with a friend yesterday about how the game began very hand holdy and that the dowsing mechanics were a bit faulty for being either too useful, or not useful at all (his main example was the first visit to eldin while looking for the keys, specifically the fire room where you have to dowse before you enter in order to take the right direction)

Not true, I decided to stray away from phantom hourglass and spirit tracks because of the controls. But I jumped on Skyward sword because it struck a good balance between a new control scheme and old game mechanics.
