(weapons, we aren't discussing armor because we are only speculating on balancing against 1h sword) You don't have to have the attack on your weapon. There are plenty of other places you can easily stick attack in, such as on Shield Attack, Glove Attack, or heck, even Overall STR, DEX, or LUK can improve attack by a significant amount of points.

We were discussing weapons because any class can use the above, including those already benefitting from 1h sword GM scrolls. Having MORE things to GM for attack would only serve to continue the problem of 1h sword having an advantage. Unless, of course, you meant to have them completely class restricted in use, which would be an interesting touch.

Then after reading it again, I realized that Xbowmen need a boost, so maybe they should have XBow Att scrolls released.

Above is a good suggestion, but noty to the wattk shield ones. We already have 1h sword GM, throwing Shield scrolls into the mix would only widen the gap between 1h users and DrKs.
What I REALLY want to see are 1h PAs/Spears, but that ain't happening.
Yup. Might want to add bows and xbows to that list too. Why give two ranged classes potential to destroy the other two? Ranged classes are strong enough anyway.
I don't want watt shields, but i do want watt shields for shadowers. How about a repeatable quest that gives out an untradeable GM scroll for shield attack for every 10k of every monster one kills?

Most people would have perfect equipment by the time they reach Lv 50.
Also, remember that the items are tradeable, after the effect is scrolled onto it, you can trade it away. There'd be no point unless you implement some kind of system where the scrolls make the item untradable when used. (much like the timeless items).

Or give everyone an untradeable one of a kind item, and make GM scrolls ONLY for said items. This would give a nice end-game weapon that is untradeable without unbalancing lower levels or screwing the market. Make the weapon difficult to obtain and bam, you're good to go.

They could easily be programmed, but the point I was trying to make is that the most fair way to balance classes against 1h sword users is to release other weapon GM scrolls. Armor/accessory scrolls would be usable by everyone, and wouldn't necessarily fix the problem. Hence me suggesting class-restricted scrolls, or quest-obtained ones that could only be used on untradeable items (much like the way pendants work).

I'm well aware, but they haven't added any GM scrolls in forever, I don't think they're likely to change any time soon.

How about remove the one-handed sword GM scrolls? They're called GM scrolls for a reason.

Or it would basically bring everyone back to about the same place in the tiers that they were. As for cyanne's post, because the GM scrolled items would still be present, and there'd be no fair way to remove them.

Ooor just stop whining. Who cares if Warriors have something everyone else doesn't?
Every job has it's advantages and disadvantages. There's no point in complaining about things like this. You could always create a character of the other job if you feel it's better.

I am a warrior...I was "whining" about 1 relatively large group gaining a SIGNIFICANT advantage over other classes.
We weren't complaining, we were trying to figure out what Nexon may/should do to balance gMS after the release of GM scrolls for only 1 weapon type. This was purely speculation/wishful thinking, no reason to get antagonistic. I would've made the exact same thread were it Polearms that got the scrolls, or Knuckles, or Wands. No matter what class, having GM scrolls released should NOT be one of the advantages they have over others.

Better to leave them in than break everything else, and GM scroll users don't really make up a relatively large group. The number of people who fork over 50k nx (or whatever it's at now) per GM scroll is quite small.

But every (or most... I don't know much about pirates or thieves) job gets big advantages.
Magicians have huge attacks as well as wands that boost those huge attacks pretty significantly.
Bowman have snipe, which I've heard is one of the best attacks in the game. I'm pretty sure they're also the only class to have ever reached the damage limit.
But the point is most classes have things that make them seem incredibly powerful to an unfair extent. Singling one thing out as unfair isn't really right. Swordsman DESERVE to have better attacks, they have to throw themselves right into the danger and they're not even that fast. Magicians and bowmen can just perch. Gunners and uh... the star thieves can attack from afar. For the most part, warriors are at a big disadvantage as far as I've seen.
Edit: My original post came off as very rude, 'whining' was a bad term to use and I'm sorry about that.

They used to be 300 though and people DID buy them, which is HUGE profit for Nexon. I doubt they'd delete their cash cow. BombsAway Wrote:But every (or most... CROSSBOWMEN have snipe. And you have no idea how many glitches are associated with snipe.
Also, snipe's not the only attack that can reach the damage max. Almost all other classes with the exception of ranged can reach the damage cap. The ranged can exceed it per attack, but you don't see the 99999, but the ranged are definitely doing more damage than normal players anyway. That's what I mean by advantages and disadvantages though. Every job has a situation in which it is suited for. I'm not arguing which attacks are the best; just that there's no reason to complain about something as small as this when every job has something that makes it seem a little unfair.

At edit, not a big deal, it's the interwebs, nothing is taken personally. But thank you for the apology, it speaks volumes for your character.
And I am aware of each class having "breaking points," my concern was that this is something not necessarily programmed into the class itself, but an external thing. And you keep referencing warriors having this advantage, but it's only 1h sword users, primarily heros. You keep neglecting BW/Axe/DrK...and even 2h users.
At any rate, I just want to see SOMETHING done for balancing purposes relating to these. And as more and more GM scrolls are found, they will become more and more economical. As long as nexon continues to have them in an obtainable state, balancing will become more and more of an issue, and more and more people will be affected by them.
